Had an UTI in mid 20's. Given antibiotics. Went away. Came back again approx. 3 months later. Diagnosed again. Doctor said I would probably have to live with recurring ones. I'm usually very healthy. Bothered he flippantly gave up. Give antibiotics. Didn't take them. Advised person to drink a lot of cranberry juice. After 2 days, the urination sting went away and after 2 weeks, or so, UTI was gone...

Maybe I did not continue long enough with the treatment, but I felt a UTI coming on so I ran out to get some cranberry pills. These were the only ones I found at Walmart and unfortunately they seemed completely ineffective. In fact, I developed a full blown UTI and discontinued taking them.

Hi all, I got to this site by looking up reviews for Nature's Truth Triple Strength Cranberry Concentrate 30,000 mg +Vit C. I actually first picked up a bottle of Azo Gummies+Vit C which I heard works very good. I then put it down and saw the NT. I thought NT was also Azo but a stronger supplement. Oops didn't read bottle right and bought it. After reading reviews here, I think I'm going to take NT back and switch it for Azo. I personally dont have a UTI but getting it for my 85 yr old mom w/dementia. I heard good things about Azo. I also heard if you drink the tart cranberry juice without added sugar is best. I know my mom won't go for that, so I thought maybe I could add stevia or natural sweetner substitute and dilute it with a bit of water. Also heard yogurt without a bunch of sugar good too. I guess sugar can feed the bacteria. Already purchased Organic D-Mannose from BJ's Health by Now Foods which is family owned and not from China. I believe it is working on her just hard to get her to drink lots of water. So opted to add cranberry juice. I've been on a quest trying different things, but she seems to be doing good presently. Btw I also question doctors as well. Her urologist mentioned nothing about natural things she could take even when asked nor her primary doctor. Antibiotics didn't work for her. Research yourself. Don't let them scare you. I believe they're trained and have a policy not to discuss natural ways to relieve these kinds of things. I also think that holding back info is job security for them, so they can push tests, exams and pills. Money has for some become a god and seems like they'll say anything to preserve it. There was a time I saw one of my mom's neurologists @ Costco. I was naturally curious and looked in his cart to see what he was buying. It was a bunch of coconut milk! I know coconut milk is good for your brain. He never once mentioned that to us in his office. Needless to say, a little fishy. I know there are def good doctors out there. However, there is def a business interest aspect of the medical field that comes into play alongside them. Not cool. Just wanted to share my thoughts and hopefully help someone out. Oh and I had to give stars to post comment even though she hasn't tried these. So pay no mind to that please. Have a very blessed night all! ?Read More Read Less

Am male. Had UTI in April and received antibiotics. 2 weeks was cured. By June it returned. Bought cranberry pills (rite-aid) and found taking one pill every 6 hours and drinking a lot of water. (Or cranberry cocktail). Within 10 days my urine was clear, not cloudy. Will continue this treatment until I'm sure it's gone for good.

I tried this for a few days to lessen burning after reading lots of positive stuff online, I took two, three times a day. First day what happened was I couldn't sleep, second day the burning got worse and I felt worse. I dug deeper online and it seems cranberry raises your thyroid levels which can result in insomnia and nervousness. Its also is very acidic and quite high in oxalates the crystals of which can form in your urine and hurt on the way out. The scholarly info on this stuff actually shows little effectiveness. I stopped and actually felt much better. Not for everybody.Read More Read Less

I had 6 months of UTI infections because of my birth control pills. It was very painful. The best advice I have is drink lots of water, average 64 oz per day. Wash your private parts twice per day with warm water. Avoid using douche, intimate washes, soap to wash, and avoid using creams on your bum and inner thighs, until you feel better. Drink cranberry juice with a meal if you want, but don't over do it. The water would help flush out the bacteria through your urine. A healthy urine color is light yellow. After 6 months of UTIs, stopping my birth control medication, stopped my UTIs, 6 months of no periods, then a period every other month, and after a year my body healed and is back to the normal period every month. I am still concern about a undiagnosed bladder infection, which I am going to visit the doctor about. I would give the same advise to my family.Read More Read Less

Cranberry does nothing more than temporarily take away the burning in your urine. It balances your ph acidity in your urine so that the burning goes away temporarily. A lot of doctors have no idea about D-Mannose so they give you antibiotics that wreak havoc on your body. D mannose powder is the answer for UTI's I promise. You can get capsules or powder whichever is easiest for you to ingest. The D-Mannose goes into your bladder and the e-coli detaches from your bladder walls and attaches to the D-Mannose instead and then you just expel it all when you urinate. It's not hard on your body at all like antibiotics are. The one thing I have found out when looking for D-mannose to buy is not to buy it if it is manufactured in China. They do not have the same manufacturing rules and put harsh chemicals like formaldehyde in during the manufacturing process. Also, look for things like 100% pure D-mannose. As far as I know, there is only one company that manufactures in the United States. A lot of companies try to fool people with that statement. The one company I know that sells that legitimate product is WellnessPartners. They are a great small family-owned company I found a few years ago when I was looking for a good source of D-Mannose not made in China. I really hope this helps anyone that has had a horrible time finding something that works as I did for a long time. Iv has been ordering now with this same company for years now and they also ship it out so quickly. Which has saved me when I have got to the end of my jar and haven't ordered yet. "Panic ensues" Take care everyone and I really hope this helps someone.Read More Read Less

I TAKE 4200 MGS/DAY AND UTI'S REDUCED SIGNIFICANTLY; HOWEVER, BE AWARE THAT SOME UTI'S CAN CAUSE BRAIN DAMAGE. I HAVE A DISCHARGE SUMMARY THAT EXPLICITLY STATES "BRAIN DAMAGE DUE TO UTI'S". IF BAD ENOUGH, UTI GETS INTO BLOOD SYSTEM AND TRAVELS THRU ENTIRE BODY.

Not sure if I had UTI or Bladder Infection but had to pee every few minutes especially in the AM and PM but trying was very painfull and could never empty the bladder. Started drinking the single servings of Ocean Spray Cranberry Cocktail twice/three times a day and in a week or so it was gone. If I skipped a day it would come right back or, if I only drank one bottle it would come back. Have to drink enough for it to actually work. I read that a bladder infection can sometimes go away by itself, but it can also go into the Kidneys so, I suggest that if you cannot get rid of it in a short period of time, go see a Dr. Something I do now is drink some cranberry juice on a regular basis to keep the infection away.Read More Read Less

I was experiencing chronic, reoccurring urinary tract infections and was taking antibiotics left right and center, and tons of painkillers. After my last antibiotic treatment, I began taking 420mg of Cranberry concentrate 1x a day for about 6 weeks to make sure I didn't get it again. I didn't. 1-2 days before sex I would take a capsule, and 1-2 days after sex I would take them (and drink a lot of water, and pee after sex of course). I can FEEL them come on sometimes and in the extremely early stages of developing a UTI, I take a capsule for about 3 days and it goes away. This has truly saved me a ton of distress & discomfort. So thankful for this over the counter supplement. I am not one to boast about the efficacy of simple tinctures but this Triple Strength Cranberry Concentrate with Vitamin C + E has changed the game for me. (I don't take it every day anymore, just a couple times a month)Read More Read Less

DON'T DO IT! Was told by my doctor it "wouldn't hurt" to drink as much cranberry juice and take as many cranberry supplements as I could for my UTI. The acid burned out my urinary tract and now I have a permanent urinary tract disease called interstitial cystitis, which feels like having a UTI every single day of my life. The urologist I saw said that nobody tells people that cranberry can do damage and using it to help with UTIs is a myth. Great! Life = ruined.

I was taking Cranberry Capsules by Vitabiotics for avoiding recurring UTI problems and chanced upon a discovery that it helps you build resistance against cold and flu virus. With all the members in my family falling ill with the virus I was unaffected by it.

excellent for stress incontinence regulation is male over fifty after radical prostatectomy. I am not sure what causes poor urinary control but it improves vastly when I take cranberry caps, and I urinate less often, which may be atypical for some, is normal for me.

As a frequent flyer to the Urgent Care with UTIs every 3 months and a 9 day stay in the hospital with UTI so bad that it caused my delirium (I was asymptomatic) I tried the Diet Cranberry juice.Did nothing for me. I started taking 4200mg Cranberry Capsules, 2-3times daily. Haven't had a UTI in nearly a year! Brand name = Nature's Bounty

Read on a medical site cranberry juice isn't effective after the UTI is established. As per my case, that ISN'T true because I already had the UTI before taking cranberry juice.Read More Read Less
