Will Draper, DVM

William Draper, DVM, better known as "Dr. Will," is a well-known small-animal practitioner in the Atlanta area. He grew up in Inglewood, CA, before enrolling at Tuskegee University in Alabama (fourth generation) for both undergraduate and veterinary studies. After receiving his veterinary medical degree in 1991, he started practicing in Atlanta and eventually started The Village Vets practices in 2000. In 2007, Draper opened Georgia's first and only AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association)-accredited small-animal after-hours emergency facility. He presently serves as General Practice Owner and CEO, and still enjoys practicing part-time.

Draper and his AAHA-accredited practices have been honored by Atlanta magazine as "Best Vets" since 2004. He has also been honored as one of Atlanta's FIVE STAR Veterinarians, as well as the national honor of “Veterinarian of The Year” by Purina Pro Plan in 2013. In addition, he serves as veterinary content editor for WebMD magazine.

Draper and his wife, Francoise Tyler, DVM, are featured on the Nat Geo WILD-produced television series, Love & Vets, now streaming on Disney+.  He was also a featured veterinary commentator on Nat Geo WILD’s Animal ER Live, as well as a providing veterinary expertise on HLN, CNN, and numerous local Atlanta news outlets.  

He is a big fan of Atlanta sports (especially Braves baseball) and enjoys all types of music. His true passion is following the Dave Matthews Band, having attended over 55 shows to date. He and “Dr. Fran” have four children: son David and daughters Tyler, Gabrielle, and Olivia. Their furry kids include four dogs: Max, Louie, Bella, and Frank; and two cats, Zig-Zag and Charlemagne.
