Often, it is the most difficult to ask for help when we need it the most. Whether you are struggling with your mental health, just got a severe diagnosis, or have been struggling for a while, reaching out for help can be extremely difficult.

Illness is a specific vulnerability that can come up, and you may wish to protect your loved ones from the suffering you are experiencing. Here are some questions you may want to ask yourself before you completely shut out your loved ones:

  • If the tables were turned, would I want to help them? How would I feel if they didn’t let me help them if they needed help?
  • Whom am I serving in the long run by not asking for help?
  • Will my health and wellness be improved by not asking for help?
  • What is holding me back from asking for help?

Feel free to reach out if you have asked yourself these questions or similar ones.
