Nayana Ambardekar, MD

Nayana Ambardekar, MD, is a board-certified general internist and an assistant professor of medicine in the division of general medicine at Emory University, based clinically at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. She has over 20 years of experience working in clinical and academic settings. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Emory. She received her MD degree from Emory University School of Medicine and went on to complete her internal medicine residency at Emory.

After completing her residency, Ambardekar worked for Emory and was based at Grady Memorial Hospital. At Grady, she had clinical duties and supervised Emory residents in the Urgent Care Center. After Grady, Ambardekar joined the primary care department at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. She worked on a primary care team, where she gave comprehensive medical care for patients, and continued working with Emory students and residents.

After that, Ambardekar joined the Women's Wellness Clinic at the Atlanta VA, where she gave comprehensive medical care to women veterans. In 2008, she joined the Compensation and Pension Clinic at the Atlanta VA, where she does disability examinations for veterans and helps educate and train new clinical staff.

Ambardekar is a member of the American Medical Association and American College of Physicians. She lives in Atlanta with her husband and two children. She has enjoyed working with elementary, middle, and high school students over the past 10 years, coaching anatomy for the Science Olympiad.
