Bethany Afshar joined WebMD as a health editor in 2022. Afshar previously worked for the Arthritis Foundation in Atlanta for 20 years in a number of editorial roles, including as editorial director of consumer health publishing, including books, newsletters, brochures, and magazine supplements. Afshar also worked in Washington, DC, as a magazine editor for trade organizations in the health and environmental sectors.
Afshar has an English degree from the University of Maryland. She lives in Marietta, GA, with her husband, two children, and three dogs.
