Heather Melendez studied feng shui under veteran Malaysian Grand Master Yap, who has an international reputation as the "creator of millionaires and billionaires." Melendez practices traditional Chinese compass school feng shui. She instructs classes at holistic health centers, is a guest speaker at real estate functions, and occasionally gives lectures on the principles of feng shui in the philosophy department at Loyola Marymount University.
Melendez received her bachelor of arts degree from Arizona State Univeristy. She is a graduate of the American Feng Shui Institute and a member of the American Feng Shui Society. She is a certified hypnotherapist, LaStone therapist, and crystal energy therapist.
