Keith Black, MD

One of the world's leading neurosurgeons, Keith Black, MD, is recognized for his significant advances in the treatment of brain tumors. Black is currently director of the division of neurosurgery at the Neurosurgical Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He also serves as professor and chairman of the department of neurological surgery at the University of California, Irvine.

Black's honors and awards are extensive and include the Charles M. Drew Medical Society's President's Medal of Honor and the Golden Plate Award from the American Academy of Achievement. Black has served on numerous university and national committees and currently serves on a number of editorial boards, including that of Critical Reviews in Neurosurgery. Black is widely published and was named one of Time Magazine's Heroes of Medicine in 1997.
