Mary Jo DiLonardo, Author at WebMD

Mary Jo DiLonardo has been a freelance writer for WebMD for more than 13 years. She writes about conditions and symptoms, exercise and well-being, and pet health, and has worked on the popular WebMD Symptom Checker.

She is a former newspaper and magazine journalist. She has covered health and wellness throughout most of her professional career for many sites and publications including CNN, Atlanta magazine, Mother Nature Network, Treehugger, and The Healthy from Reader’s Digest. With all those years in the borderline medical field, she jokes that she is half doctor, half hypochondriac.

In addition to health, DiLonardo has written about nature and sustainability, education and family, and anything that helps make the world a better place. She is based in Atlanta and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. She has written for print, broadcast, and online outlets and wrote a kids’ travel book for Random House. Her work on education won several regional magazine awards.

She has fostered more than 60 dogs and puppies, many with special needs, much to the dismay of her own rescue dog.
