Peter Jensen, MD, is director of the Center for the Advancement of Children's Mental Health and the Ruane Professor of Child Psychiatry at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Before that, Jensen was the associate director of child and adolescent research at the National Institute of Mental Health. He serves on many editorial and scientific advisory boards, is the author of over 150 scientific articles and book chapters, and has co-edited three books on children's mental health research. He has received numerous national awards, including the 1999 Exemplary Psychiatrist Award from the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill and inductment into the CHADD hall of fame.
