Brenda Crawford-Clark, MPH

Brenda Crawford-Clark, MPH, MS, author of Body Sense: Balancing Your Weight and Emotions, is a board-certified counselor and a licensed mental health counselor. Crawford-Clark was Florida Counselor of the Year in 1994 and has more than 15 years experience in the treatment field, acting as a director of hospital and outpatient programs and in private practice. Some of her specialties include weight issues such as stress eating and compulsive overeating, posttraumatic stress, eating disorders, trauma, physical and emotional abuse, working with families in conflict, troubled children, problem relationships, couples counseling, and adoption. She works with children, teens, and adults.

Crawford-Clark also has been a medical writer and medical editor of a metropolitan newspaper; reporter and family editor of a rural regional newspaper; contributing editor to a health magazine; and a freelance magazine writer.

She has a master's in public health from the University of Oklahoma and a master's in counseling psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. She lives in Tampa, Fla.
