Jennifer Casarella, MD, graduated from Duke University in 1991 with a BA in psychology. She attended Emory Medical School. She completed a psychiatry residency at Emory as well as an addiction psychiatry fellowship. She is double boarded in psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. She is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Emory University as well as the medical director of the Substance Abuse Treatment Program and the Opioid Treatment Program at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. She has been in active practice for over 15 years. She is actively involved in teaching, research, advocacy, and treating patients.
