Deborah von Zinkernagel is deputy director of the Office of HIV/AIDS Policy at the Department of Health and Human Services. The Office of HIV/AIDS Policy advises the Assistant Secretary for Health/Surgeon General and the Secretary on all HIV/AIDS policies, programs and activities for the department. Prior to joining the department in 1995, von Zinkernagel was a Health Policy Analyst for the Senate Committee on Labor and Human Resources. The development of the Ryan White CARE Act and other legislative activities related to HIV/AIDS were a primary focus for von Zinkernagel during her tenure with the Committee.
