zit worked great for my OCD & PAD but ultimately I have made the decision to get off of this.. I lost the ability to orgasm after a few months and my sex drive is gone. It really took a toll on me & my husbands sex life. Which overtime will really disrupt things. ----This drug is so HARD to get off of.. Major withdrawl symptoms... even when I'm barely breaking the amounts off gradually.. I have a few other treatments that I am going to try now but at least I got my drive & big 'O' back now. It was hard for my body to adapt to this drug. It took about 2 months before I finally got back to normal. In the beginning I was tired a lot and nauseated. You just kind of feel out of sorts. I visited my doctor and told him I didn't feel much of a change so he upped my dosage. Now that I feel back to normal I believe it is working for me. My OCD has calmed down all the way and I feel pretty calm. I still take my xanax sometimes if I am having a stressful day. I feel that it mixes well with the xanax. Overall if you can make it through the initial 'shock' to the body I think it's really worth it. You just have to ask yourself how badly you want to be helped.Read More Read Less

My daughter was on this at 50mg for 6 weeks. She had a change in personality in that she became very emotional and lost her motivation for school. THE SCARY THING IS THAT SHE DIDNT REALIZE HOW THIS DRUG AFFECTED HER. She stopped taking it when she ended up in the hospital after a suicide attempt. She is now drug free and will NEVER take these dangerous drugs again.

Started at 50mg for 3 months, was not working increased to 100mg. The first night had really bad hand tremors and extreme tiredness, tried 100mg for 2 weeks, had to reduce dosage back down to 50mg because of the side effects. I am now looking for a new medication for my OCD..

I have ALS, and get down because I hate the way it has made me stiff and move and walk "different". I take 3 pills a day and it seems that I am at a better place with dealing with my disability. I cant tell a drastic change but I dont cry as much but I still stress out when going places with lots of people around. I dont think any medication will take what I feel away but it helps a little. I did switch from taking it in the morning to bedtime because I was tired throughout the day and yawning constantly. Read More Read Less

What happened to 4Shir may have happened to me. On the night I took this I felt neurons pop closed and doors in my mind shut. It was terrifying, I thought I was going to die. If not physically, it felt like the death of myself. Naturally, I didn't sleep that night. Those doors remain closed to this day. The remaining few days I took this was no different to being completely etherised. Since then, my voice has felt more weak. I don't know if the cause is physical or more due to social anxiety. But since taking this I have certainly become more socially anxious than I was before. I no longer trust anyone. This pill gave me the things it is said to cure. I do not have OCD and was not taking this for it, but, if anything, it has "made" me more OCD. Parts of songs skip over and over in my head more, and my life is steeped in ritual more than it ever was beforehand. I know this is happening because I am avoiding thinking of something. Of opening that closed door. My sleep before then was normal, but now it is shallow, and I have more trouble falling asleep. Some more unpleasant side effects: My forehead gets a rash in the shower or after drinking coffee My rosacea is exacerbated, happens especially when I drink My physiology is generally different in a way that I can't articulate, mostly that my nerves are "raw" I know it is ultimately me that decided to go through with it, but I can't help but seethe with resentment for all the people involved in getting me to take this evil pill. If you can relate please write a review.Read More Read Less

Man, I don't know what's wrong with me. Everyone seems to love this medication except me. ): I was prescribed Luvox for Trichotellamania (a compulsion to pull out your hair, including eyelashes, eyebrows, and body hair) at a young age - around 9 or 10 years old. Not only did Luvox do nothing at all to stop my compulsions (which actually seemed to get worse), it also caused me to completely lose control of my impulses. Before Luvox, I was a quiet and extremely well-mannered and well-behaved child who never got into trouble. With Luvox I became angry, spiteful, and frequently got into trouble at school, to the point where I was actually getting detentions and suspensions quite frequently. I just couldn't control myself, it was like I'd lost my mind and become a completely new child. Nobody ever thought it was the drug. Once I finally realized what was going on, I explained and begged my psychiatrist and parents to take me off Luvox, but nobody listened until, sadly, the Columbine tragedy happened and it was revealed that one of the shooters had been taking Luvox. The resulting hysteria was certainly unnecessary, I don't argue that, and I'm not AT ALL saying the drug caused the shooter to do what he did, but living near Columbine caused the Luvox hysteria to really hit home for my doctors (along with, I imagine, my age and consistent reports of raised aggression and irritability they'd all ignored before) and I was finally taken off of it. So, it's kind of a difficult thing to say. Obviously it helps a lot of people. Maybe doctors need to be more careful about prescribing Luvox under a certain age, though. :/Read More Read Less

I took Luvox for about 12 years to help with anxiety and depression. It worked very well for me. I no longer felt the need for the medication so I went off it. Going off the medication was very difficult, but I had to just make up my mind that I was going to do it. I kept cutting my dosage in half, taking the new dose for a week at a time until I was down to 1/4 of a pill and then stopped altogether. Even then, it took time to get out of my system and made me feel, on a smaller scale, like you do if you miss the medicine for a day (dizzy, a bit out of it, neauseous). I had no negative side effects from taking Luvox (at least none that I am aware of). Read More Read Less
