I really held out a lot of hope for this med. for help with my crazed shopping! Well, from the morning I took the 1st pill until 6 days after (the day after I stopped), I slept almost non-stop. Of course, I take presc. morhpine-based pain meds--but my prescriber knew this . . .on the 4th day, I woke up practically howling in pain from having been in bed so long! What am I to do?

Luvox worked miracles for me as a young child struggling with a severe case of OCD. However, as I progressed through adolescence and into my early teenage years, I began to feel overwhelmingly fatigued - my entire 8th grade consisted of homework, eating, and sleeping. I would come home from school every day exhausted and have to hit the couch for a three hour nap. . . .I tried resisting the naps, but then became so exhausted that I couldn't fall asleep until midnight or one in the morning. When I entered high school I began to decrease by 25 mg increments and over the next couple years had more energy with each decrease. At the beginning of my junior year, I developed hypoglycemia having to eat every 2 hours, sometimes eating 5 full meals per day. Since then, however, I have been able to return to normal eating and sleeping habits. . . .The Luvox is truly helpful for the OCD actions and thoughts. . .however, I think there could have been a better answer for me. . .(maybe the fact that I was so young upon starting it induced such heavy side effects. . .the hypoglycemia could have been part of withdraw).Read More Read Less

Luvox has helped tremendously. I was very tired when I first started the drug, but now am fine. Really helps to control obsessive thoughts.

have been on luvox for 10+ years. lowered dosage from 100 mg per day to 50 mg per day. felt really tired and just kind of lazy. didn't really want to do anything. have currently stopped taking. been off for almost a week. did suffer from dizziness and headaches during last week. my stress level has declined alot over the past 10 years, so have adjusted dosage accordingly, but definitely was a huge benefit when i needed it. for those experiencing trouble sleeping, i found if i took the meds a few hours before going to bed, i had better results. I have been on Luvox (fouvoximine) for about 11 years. It has worked out great. I am 41 now...had to increase from 100 mlg to 200 mlg at bedtime recently. I did not get a refil for about 3 days, and thought I was going to have a heart attack in the middle of the night. I now know how an addict feels from withdrawl symptoms...not fun!

It's made my life so much better. I take it with lamictal (for my bipolar disorder). No longer do I have to lock every single door and window, and then double check, and maybe triple check. I don't have to count the letters in every word in a sentence. I still have some obsessive thoughts, that are VERY irritating, because I Just. Can't. Stop. Them. Normally mentally reciting a song helps, but it's still annoying. All in all, it has allowed me to be functional and blend in with the average teenager.Read More Read Less

I've been taking luvox on and off for a couple of months now due to some minor side effects. After alot of thinking I have been taking it now for a month and do not decide to go off it again. I have tried medecines in the past such as fuoxetine, which caused very irritating side effects and made things worse. Luvox works like a charm for me. My obsessions are gone and my overall mood stabilty is fine. I don't get anxious in public places any more and I am able to talk to poeple at school and make friends, somthing I haven't been able to do most of my school life. It has also dramatically improved my relationship with my family and we no longer have any fights. I feel very normal and satisfied with my life and finally things are looking brighter.Read More Read Less

It suppressed my anxiety and has helped me sleep. I don't restrain myself lik eI used to and I have less fear of things that caused me anxiety. It does make me tired especially in the afternoon. I take my 200 mg. dose at bedtime.

I have taken Luvox 50mg in the morning now for about 6 months for anxiety and mild depression and it has seemed to help. I dont get sleepy from it or any other side effects. Just dont forget to take it because I notice within that day and have withdrawls from it-dizzy shaky, headache.

Luvox is a miracle went on it for OCD but instead it helped my anger. I have bad anger problems and this made me a normal person! The ONLY complaint I have is ease off it otherwise you have pretty bad withdrawl symptoms!

Great drug , have taken for about 1 year. I forgot to take night dosage and felt terrible , took it finally at 11:30Am when I realized that I had missed it. Now not sure how to get back on schedule. I take 150MG. Does anyone know how to get back on cycle safely?

Currently taking Luvox, and Ambien for OCD at bedtime. Also take Abilify in the morning. But continue to have difficulty sleeping at night. Does anyone have any suggestions? Does Luvox work better when taken in the morning?
