I had a tooth extraction, and developed a bacterial infection along with dry socket. I took 300mg capsules 4xday x 6 days. It cleared up the infection quickly. I had no stomach upset, even though I have an old stomach ulcer. I am a nurse, and have seen this drug prescribed many times for various bacterial conditions.. I would recommend it. I personally have many drug allergies, and had no problems...

Prescribed by my dentist before having a root canal retreated due to an abscess. After two days of taking the medication I began experiencing terrible stomach cramps and diarrhea. I called my dentist who advised me to stop taking it immediately. After looking the medicine up online I am shocked I was given it in the first place. I have a very sensitive stomach and am a small person. This medicine ...

I was prescribed Clindamycin. 3 pills every six hours. I took it for two days. I was extremely nauseous, had vertigo and was starting to develop an intense pain in my side and lower back area. I have eczema and am currently experiencing a flair up but since starting this medication, I have become incredibly itchy. I also experienced constipation, but Iâ??m sure if I wouldâ??ve continued, I wouldâ??ve experienced the exact opposite. After feeling so horribly sick for both days and reading the other reviews on the drug, I chose to stop. I was prescribed this medication to prevent an infection on an untreated ingrown toenail. Never will I take this drug again. After reading the risks more in detail and hearing everyoneâ??s experiences, never again! Read More Read Less

I am 14 and currently taking this drug w a probiotic and a prescription anti nausea pill and this is the worst medicine I have ever taken. My infection went away however from the side effects (even w the other pill) I get nauseous, dizzy, have watery diarrhea, feel like I’m going to throw up, have vaginal itching and now, bloody vaginal discharge. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR ANYONE!!

This drug has been ok, I've been taking it for my tooth extraction, and since I discovered I was pretty allergic to the amoxicillin I was given prior (500MG). But weirdly like the amoxicillin it has upped my anxiety for no reason. I'll be hopefully in a better headspace once I'm done w/ this course in four days.

Infection cleared up but the side effects were HORRIBLE. Really not worth the pain I experienced. Worst medicine I have ever used. Diarrhea started after 3 days, finished treatment 2 weeks ago and the diarrhea keeps coming back. Even with the use of probiotics and yogurt. Afraid to go anywhere where I don't have quick access to a restroom. 20 - 30 minute trip to the toilet. THIS IS AN EVIL MEDICATION AND SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE MARKET!!!

I was taking 1350mg of this drug a day for three weeks,in three doses a day for severe cellulitis. I was also having 8000mg of Flucloxacillin through a picc line a day for 4 weeks. I lived with no side effects from either drug.

The drug almost killed me. It gave me an overall rash and severe diarrhea, destroyed my appetite...I was very sick. My wife had to call 911 because I collapsed from weakness. This drug should be banned completely. I would sue if I thought I could win.this drug is poison!

Took Cleosin for a week following a dental implant. Infection free but the diarrhea began on the first day and has continued now two weeks since ending the medication. Taking probiotics, eating yogurt and foods that would bind up a river--with no results. Identical thing happened last time I took this med. Neg for C-diff, just a brutal time returning the normal bacteria in my gut. Effective antibiotic with a nasty side-effect!

I was prescribed this drug for an infection found during a root canal. The first 2 days were awful. I could barely eat and I would throw the medicine up within hours of taking it. By day 3, I was ok. TAKE THIS MEDICINE WITH A PROBIOTIC. Try yogurt or a probiotic pill. I am now pain free and able to take the medicine with ease. It works, just give it time.

For 3 days I have been taking Cleocrin 300mg 3 times a day. Very bad tooth abscess. My whole right of face was swollen, couldn't even open my eye on that side. Day three I am able to see, swelling has gone down some in face, not around the main infected area. The side effects right now is mild headache (but I take half a pain pill doc gave, so that helps), mild bodyache but muscle cream helps with that. However, I do have that icky medicine taste in my mouth. But coffee helps clear that up. The best times I have found taking this medication is morning, afternoon and no later than 9pm at night. My teeth are bad, have to be cut out. It works. The side effects are bad, but not to many people eat when having an abscess and drinking feels like taboo during the pain. So the side effects are the same as being dehydrated. I suggest warm drinks like tea, warmed milk, coffee and even warm water. I am sorry some have had a bad experience, and I agree, I will not be taking this medication again. But for now to get rid of this swelling and pain, it is tolerable.Read More Read Less

My problem started as a tinea type infection. I was prescribed this drug and was most unhappy about the outcome. After 24 hours, I came out in an itchy rash on my whole body. Next day went to the local hospital where the infectious diseases doctor provided me with an alternative antibiotic which solved the problem.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DRUG!!! I was given this medication after dental work to prevent infection. Let me say that I have had dental work done before as well as a breast augmentation where I needed something similar, I have never had any side effects with other medications but had unbearable side effects with this one. I cannot believe the awful feeling this medication gave me, I felt like death was knocking on my door. After the first day of taking it I felt so very nauseous for HOURS, then finally PUKE PUKE PUKE and abdominal pain along with dizziness like I have been on a merry go round at high speed for hours. NEVER in my life have I felt this sick. This awful feeling is far worse than actually having the tooth extracted. I wish I would have read the reviews first before taking this medication. After reading other reviews I know I'm not the only one having a bad reaction to it, I feel like crap but looks like others have experienced far worse. This drug needs to be off the market.Read More Read Less

I began taking this for a painful tooth abscess. Just two days in I was so miserable I had to stop. I had painful stomach cramps and nausea that lasted for hours, even though I didn't take it on an empty stomach. I started sweating and had fever symptoms but when I took my temp, I didn't have a fever. I had horrible dreams and couldn't sleep right and began to have panic/anxiety type reactions. I had started eating yogurt as soon as I started (I always do with anti-biotics) so perhaps that saved me from the horrible diahrhea, but I had several soft bowel movements throughout the day which is really unusual for me. Worse yet, it wasn't doing anything for the abscess on my gum. I called the pharmacist who got the dentist to prescribe amoxicillen instead and within a day the abscess was greatly reduced and the other symptoms subsided, too. Clindamycin is a scary drug - NEVER AGAIN. I appreciate the comments others left so now I know I wasn't imagining things or going crazy! Read More Read Less

I was put on this antibiotic after a root canal failed and amoxicillin didn't seem to be helping, right before the tooth was pulled. I has some loose stools and my stomach was a little touchy - but no nausea. I've used it twice now for dental problems, and it worked both times. I would recommend it if your stomach can tolerate it.

Given this drug after oral surgery. It is now 12 days of constant diarrhea. I have lost 12 lbs and counting down. Can't blame Obamacare on this.....although the legal drug lords will try.

I have only taken 5 of the 28 of these I've been prescribed. I have the worst heartburn I've ever experienced in my life. I can hardly wait for the rest of the side effects to kick in. I have 4 broken teeth and they're infected and hurt so bad I want to cut my head off. I have to get the infection under control before I can have the teeth extracted. That's the only reason I am going to keep taking this antibiotic. If not for the excruciating pain in my mouth I would throw them in the trash.
