I've had UC for 13 years and would have a flare-up twice a year for 2 to 3 months at a time, every year! (seasonal) This drug has gotten me off Prednisone which I loved too but wasn't healthy for me. My doctor gave me this drug and I love it! I've been in remission for the first time since I started this drug. I take 50mg daily and I have no side effects and I have my life back!!!!

my neurologist put me on this 3 yrs ago to get me off prednisone. My stomach hurts, back hurts, pain in joints, have loose stools then constapation. My b/p has been dropping this week ( 80/55 ).So weak and tired I can't function. Had my thymus removed 2 1/2 yrs ago. my myasthenia gravis symptoms have improved since the surgery, since begining the increase dosage of 50mg x 3 I have been so sick. I don't believe it is anything but the change of dosage in this med. Going back to old dosage to see if my condition changes for the better. has anyone suffering from M/G. had similar experience?Read More Read Less

I HAVE BEEN USING THIS SINCE 2006. IN 2009 THEY UPPED MY DOSE AND SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD SEVERE JOINT AND MUSCLE PAINS. MY EYES ARE GETTING WORSE, HARD TO CONCETRATE AT TIMES AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES ARE ALMOST NILL. TRIED TO TELL MY DOCS THAT, BUT THEY WON'T LISTEN. ONE TELLS ME HE USES AZO TO TREAT JOINT/MUSCLE PAIN! IN 2011, HE DIAGNOSED ME WITH FIBROMYALGIA. BUT FROM WHAT I READ, I STILL THINK MY PAINS ARE FROM THE AZO MORE THAN FIBRO. THERE ARE TIMES THAT I CAN BARELY MOVE/WALK AND IF I COULD AFFORD TO, I WOULD QUIT WORKING. IT IS GETTING TO POINT WHERE I DO NOT TRUST DOCTORS.Read More Read Less

On this med for about 2 years. Managing symptoms except for diarrhea and hair loss, but hair loss may be caused from diarrhea and lacking in proper neutrients. But much better than steroids that make me crazy!! White count good and no really bad side effects, tired and joint pain but still improvement over alternative meds.

I have had UC since 2002. I TAKE 300MG a day. The first couple of months i was nauseated every day. Also with this drug i am taking Apriso together it seems to help but every so many months i have flares ups. taking cymbalta with these drugs seem to help calm my stomach or calm me. i feel frustrated that i still feel anxious when going to the store or travelling because the urgency to go never has really gone away.

I have been taking Imuran for 10+ years and it has worked great on my RA. I was taking 150mg per day and my RA had gone into remission. My doctor lowered my dosage to 100mg per day after 2 infections (in 10 years). I had shingles and also got a tooth infection after dental work. The only side effect I experienced was easy brusing. I am experiencing more pain now that the dosage has been lowered.

Am fighting vomiting and muscle pains with this medicine. Also having severly sensitive teeth now, and skin sores are becoming a problem. Am worried that the side effects aren't worth whatever help it's giving me. Anyone else having these symptoms? Have been on prednisone for a year without side effects this bad! Can't see the improvements with this drug. I'm very fair skinned and am extremely worried about the increased risk of skin cancers - not what I need!

I have lichen planus. Took the medication for about three months while weaning off prednisone. Started to feel unusually tired. Ended up in the hospital with aplastic anemia (Low red and white blood count and low platelets). Took about a month to recover after numerous blood and platelet transfusions.

The most difficultly I have observed is a change in mood. Non communication with side effects. This may only be male related as stubborness, he is tired alot has lost most of his desire to move forward.

I'm taking 50 of Azathioprine every morning for pustular pyoderma gangrenosum and suspected Crohn's disease (symptoms but no damage). The p.p.g. took a few weeks to clear up but has stayed away, and the stomach symptoms were completely better in a few weeks. Other than being a little tired and sometimes nauseated this is a great drug, though it seems to be hit and miss for everybody else. I have a rash on my face from it, but compared to what its treating that's much more bearable. I am not a good candidate for prednisone since I also have stomach ulcers with no apparent cause and this is a great steroid sparing agent.Read More Read Less

Have been taking it for 2 years now (150MG a day) for Crohns Disease. First 3 months were tough, but worth it. Crohn's has been in remission since I started taking it. Side effects; little to no joint pain... thats it. I had bad back pain, knee pain, hip pain. All these pains are now at a minimum, I run 4 mile a day (something I have not been able to do since age 28).
