Used it for 8 months and still going to void every 45 minutes even after 8 months. Waste of time.

I have been taking Elmiron for five months now. It has made a huge difference. I have interstitial cystitis. I walk daily and it was to the point that I could not walk more than a mile without literally almost wetting my pants. I went to the bathroom before leaving for work, when I got there 15 minutes later, I went, then again in 15 minutes. The urgency was horrible and I could not hold it. I would be fine one second and suddenly writhing to keep from leaking. I guess a lot of people have pain with IC, but I had none. Just the ridiculous urgency. I started Elmiron and it took 4 months to work, but work it did. I can eat anything I want, drink coffee and walk three miles! There are two downsides. First, it is a pain to take the evening dose 2 hours after and 1 hour before eating. This is harder on the weekends when I don't have a set schedule. The other is the cost. I have excellent insurance, but I just received a 3 month supply and it cost my insurance $1700.00. I hope by the time I retire and no longer have excellent insurance that there is a generic or the price has dropped considerably.Read More Read Less

I have been on elmirom for two years no bald patches yet, get upset tummy, have heart palpatasions anddry eyes mouth and skin, anyone else have the same

I am very sensitive to medicine. After taking two capsuls during the day, I did not sleep all night - too stimulating.

I have been on this medication for about 7 months and I have not seen a change what so ever. In the long run, it has gotten a lot worse.

only on Elmiron since Sept 2012;saw excellent results in a few DAYS:) now almost 4 months; pain is GONE; have suffered with IC for over 20 years; consider myself extremely fortunate it has worked this well so quickly;first check up in two weeks;plan to emphasize how well is working

I have been taking Elmiron for nearly two years. It has been very effective for me.

Had some hair loss

It is a drug that requires persistance. The effects will not become apparent immediately but will happen and the pain and bleeding will go within time - approximately 3-4 months. It also helps will the management of interstitial cystitis, making an attack far less painful and easier to cpe with.

I,am an 44yr. old woman who suffers from IC(Interstitial Cystitis), And I have been taking Elmiron for almost a year now. And I can't tell if its' helping and I'am not getting any real relief using it.

It took about 4 months before elmiron started working on me. Each month I am feeling better and better .... Thank god for this drug

I was so afraid when I started reading reviews on this med. However, I was desperate and decided to try it. I started with 1 a day for a week; 2 a day for a week, and eventually 3 to avoid full blown side effects. I noticed within 2 weeks a difference with bladder symptoms being better. I do and still do have stomach upset, but better than bladder feeling like it's on fire! This med gave me 95% of my life back. (some ppl take it out the capsule and swallow the powder). They say it helps avoid stomach upset. I did not see a real difference. Hope it works for you, sorry for those it does not. Been taking since August 2010.Read More Read Less

Gave no relief of bladder symptoms and caused severe stomach upset and hair loss.4

I took elmiron for IC I took the drug for 6 months then was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months after stopping the drug. Has anyone else gotten breast cancer after taking elmiron?

I have taken 3 pills per day and have been using since 2007. I do have blood in my stools at times and have had colonscopy with no adverse findings. I believe this is caused by the this drug--I was off of it for a period of time and the blood in my stool stopped, but have seen it again since I resumed the medicaiton.

3 days on this and I was jittery, itchy, bloated, had abdominal pain and nausea, my vision was blurry and my throat hurt. I had more frequent urination and pain with urination than before taking this pill.

I have been on ELMIROM for 3mts has not helped yet i burn all the time,also I have a very bad smell,its awful, does any one else have the bad smell ? this has been going on for 2 years, I had sugery net put in for bladder,hope this med,will start working,,
