About 3 months ago I decided I wanted to go on birth control. I went to a doctor and talked about my options, because I have migraines with aura, but I just decided to go with the pill and see if it gave me any headaches. The week leading up to when I was going to start my first pack, I made the mistake of searching reviews online. I really think everyone flocks to the internet to complain abou...

If you have hormone related issues like PCOS, DO NOT TAKE THIS BRAND OF BIRTH CONTROL! Also if you have hormonal acne Sronyx will most likely worsen it. The progestin in Sronyx has high androgenic activity and therefore can cause excessive body and facial hair growth, loss or thinning of hair, and weight gain. (I have personally experienced these symptoms). As far as regulating your menstrual cycle and preventing pregnancy it is effective but stay far away if you already have an imbalance of hormones because Sronyx may further exacerbate the issue.Read More Read Less

At first I was very scared when I began taking it, because my blood pressure became elevated to the point where I felt like I was going to have a heart attack, I couldn't have a cup of coffee or soda without getting dizzy. It's hard to explain, but the veins in my hands felt huge because they had expanded so much. Luckily that went away after the first three days, and so far the only side effects I have are breast soreness and an extended belly, things that are annoying but I can live with. It hasn't had any effect on my acne, and a very small effect on my libido (it's decreased a bit, but nothing crazy). Though I noticed someone else pointed out the pill giving them heartburn, and I have experienced a bit of that as well, not sure if it is the pill or not... Overall not too bad, at least for me.Read More Read Less

Been on it for 6 months. I was fine before I was on this pill, but ever since I have had a constant yeast infection. Taken OTC drugs and also went to the doctor and was prescribed fluconazole and after the 5th day, I'm still not better. I'm done with this pill. No sex drive because of the constant problems, rather use condoms.

This pill has kept me from getting pregnant, however, it has made me gained at least 15 unwanted pounds!! I hardly eat (due to my busy work schedule) but still do not understand why I am gaining weight. Also, I have been getting migraines at least once a week and it is very debilitating.

I have been on Syronx for the last month hoping that it would be as wonderful as Alesse...well it does work but i have noticed a significant increase in my appetite, sleepiness, and even some increased shedding of my hair. I haven't gained any weight and my sex drive remains intact. I wish that I could go back to the Alesse because I was pleased with it in total.

I am 41 and I no longer wish to have my period. My doctor told me it would be OK to continously take the Sronyx active pills for 4 months to avoid then take the inactive pills at the end of 4 months so I only have my period 3 times a year. I only see my boyfiend every other weekend and it affects our sex life when I have my period during one of those weekends every single month. I started spotting the day before my last active pill in my first pack and have been bleeding for a month straight! I have taken nothing but active pills, same time every day, haven't missed any. The irony of this is that I'm on the pill to stop my period all together and instead I have had my period for almost a month now! Not only that, my libido has decreased and I feel bloated and heavy. My doctor says not to worry, that I'm just getting used to the hormones. Has anyone else tried to use Sronyx continuously and will my bleeding ever stop?Read More Read Less

No weight gain, not pregnant and actually helped my PMS. I am shocked with how well it works (but then again, I cannot take a pill with a lot of estrogen).

This pill is effective, and initially I was quite happy with it. I have gained very little (if any weight), which was a major side effect with other pills that I've tried. But after about 6 months on this pill, I started having breakthrough bleeding. For two months in a row, I have had heavy, period-like bleeding for three weeks out of each month. Also, I have started getting severe headaches that don't respond to medication during the placebo week. I wish my experience had been different. If it weren't for the unexpected, wacky breakthrough bleeding, I would have stuck with this pill.Read More Read Less

Weight gain is my concern. After taking for about 6 months I've gained 10 pounds. It did clear up my acne.

First I was on the depo provera shot which worked great but causes bone loss so i thought I'd switch. plus it didn't feel natural not getting a period and I gained weight on it. Then i tried patch which made me so sick and had worst cramps of my life even tho it wasn't that time of the month.-only lasted a few days on patch. Then I switched to sronyx. It regulated my cycle perfectly and my periods seemed light and were predictable. Any symptoms were minimal. Slight decrease in libido, feeling a little tired more often. Except... One problem I had is that my heart started skipping beats (heart palpitations) followed by a strong beat and sometimes, but not as often, my heart had sharp pains. Heart palpitations became more frequent sometimes happening several times a day but sometimes just a few times a week. I also felt an increase of anxiety- which might be because I kept wondering if a heart attack was around the corner. What made me stop taking it finally is that one night while i was sleeping, in my dream i felt my heart skip a beat like the other times but then it all of the sudden beat so hard several times that it woke me up so instantly and it was so painful. It felt like a professional baseball player was swinging at me in the chest with a baseball bat... It lasted for less than a minute, but left me a bit shaken up. Went to the doctor the next day and they did blood tests and everything and I'm perfectly healthy and the results were inconclusive... Heart palpitations have lessened since i stopped taking it but I've only been off it a month yet still slight palpitations occur. May not be related but I can't think of anything else since I'm a young (22) healthy person with no history of heart problems. The thing was that it was at random times that weren't stressful so I cant relate it to anxiety either... Maybe I'm just not meant for birth control hormones..Read More Read Less

I've taken this for a week now. No side effects and my acne is clearing up. I also feel like my depression is getting better. I'm not sure about the effectiveness on preventing pregnancy yet though. Overall, I'm satisfied so far with this product.

I am on the low dose sronyx. i haven't been on it very long but i hate it, it serves it's purpose by not getting me pregnant. but i freak out every month because my symptoms mimic pregnancy. I am very emotional, light to no period, bigger boobs, tender boobs, weight gain, protruding stomach, headaches, acne, sleepy all the time, i cramp all month long, and loss of money from taking pregnancy tests. i am not pregnant which is why i take this, i just wish it wasn't so bad. i'll keep taking it because it is cheap and it has kept me babyless so far. Even since I've switched to this birth control due to my original prescription being on back order, I've had two menstruals in one month one came early, the worst cramps I've ever experienced and my acne came back. I don't have an appetite and I bleed nonstop. I am too old to be experiencing this. Especially acne. This is not a very good product.

I´ve been using oral contraceptives for 6 years. I have been on Sronyx for almost 3 years now & it has been the best oral contraceptive yet. When I first started using it, I had bad cramps but those disappeared after about a year. Now I have zero cramps and my periods are extremely light & short. I love it. It´s better than the NuvaRing (which triggered my severe allergy to Latex and was very uncomfortable to wear) and Yaz (which caused clotting and severe cramps during my period). If you have just started taking Sronyx, be patient!! Your body needs time to adapt. I have no increased appetite and have learned to control my weight through diet and exercise.Read More Read Less

I was on Lessina until it was changed to Sronyx. I have been on it four days now, and I have been having headaches, nausea if I don't eat with the pill, and now nosebleeds. Now, I have to search for another birth control to switch to! I really wish that Lessina HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED!! I am 28 years old and too old for this!

I have made it through almost one month on this birth control pill and my experience so far has been less than stellar. I have acne like a pre-pubescent teenager (I am 33 yrs old with formerly perfect skin), am constantly hungry, am having to work out twice as hard to maintain my weight, am craving fatty and sugary foods and am EXTREMELY emotional. I pity those who have to spend time around me. :p

I read all the reviews and hesitated to take it for an entire month. Then I just tried it and I gained weight, I would say 3-4lbs, because my appetite has increased, and I'm just finishing my first pack. I felt sleepy and a small amount of nausea in the first two days, still experiencing fatigue but not enough to complain. I think it's a great product and works fantastic. I have no problems at all. I never really acne, just a bump here and there, now my face is completely clear and radiant. I love it. I think everyone should try it for themselves. I loved it! I will recommend it.
