About 3 months ago I decided I wanted to go on birth control. I went to a doctor and talked about my options, because I have migraines with aura, but I just decided to go with the pill and see if it gave me any headaches. The week leading up to when I was going to start my first pack, I made the mistake of searching reviews online. I really think everyone flocks to the internet to complain abou...

I read all the reviews and hesitated to take it for an entire month. Then I just tried it and I gained weight, I would say 3-4lbs, because my appetite has increased, and I'm just finishing my first pack. I felt sleepy and a small amount of nausea in the first two days, still experiencing fatigue but not enough to complain. I think it's a great product and works fantastic. I have no problems at all. I never really acne, just a bump here and there, now my face is completely clear and radiant. I love it. I think everyone should try it for themselves. I loved it! I will recommend it. THIS IS NOT A PILL FOR EVERYONE. my daughter is 13, and I placed her on OC due to heavy periods already in her life. She has gained exactly 21 lbs in 5 months of being on this. Im changing her as we speak. She is very moody (above the teen hormones) and snaps at her siblings. Ive noticed a huge change in her development as well. Dr says, its not the pill that makes you gain weight, its the increase of appetite while taking...well hello... it definately shows. NOT GOOD FOR HER AT THIS AGE, but i cant dare allow her to be embarrassed again with heavy cycles. Read More Read Less

I have been on BC since I was 11 (following surgery to remove an ovary and to help reduce cysts). I am 42. I am a patient of Planned Parenthood (yey! PlannedParenthood!)(PP) and had the benefit of a GREAT ob/gyn doc in WinstonSalem. ABout a year ago I swithced to Sronyx becuz PP no longer provided the other (I forget what it was now). I was happy with the transition. NOTHING really changed for me: weight, mood, no acne, short periods, etc. Then I switched to Sprintec becuz WalMart carried it for like $10. That was an awful mistake. AWFUL. Mood "swings" - ha! "swings" seems like too small a description . . . more like mood hurricanes/avalanches/tornados!! My forhead broke out for the FORST TIME EVER IN MY LIFE. I'M 42!! I felt pale, wiped out, weak and nauseas every morning and sometimes through the day. It was awful. I stayed on the Sprintec for 5 mos and the symptoms never subsided or lessened. I have started back on Sronyx about a week ago. I found myself crying and depressed about 5 hours later. I feel pretty depressed emotionally, but let's face it - I just "flipped the script" on my internal hormonal balance - I don't know if ANYONE could truly transition ANY hormonal change and directive on their body without AT LEAST several weeks of hormonal disorder . . . . I mean estrogen effects so much - bones, blood pressure, mentality, and who knows what else, right? So I expect to go through a transition of probably a few weeks, maybe months. I was BC free for a month before starting the Sronyx. I will say that in 4 days of stopping the Sprintec MY FACE CLEARED UP! COMPLETELY! And I was not nauseous nor did I feel pale and weak. With this review I want everyone to keep in mind that I am 42 and may very well be going through the early hormonal stages of menopause and this may very well have been whole the problem from the start. It may not have been the Sprintec at all. And maybe I should have given the Sprintec more time-I will try to review again later ~EstroJENRead More Read Less

I absolutely hate this birth control! I used to be on Lessina, and I loved it. But Sronyx has made my face break out worse then ever before, worse then before I ever started taking Birth control. I forget to take it, and my period will full on start, even if i start to take my pills on time again. Im not very happy with this.

I really haven't kept track on whether I've gained weight since I've been on this pill but my weight has stayed constant. I skip the inactive pills to not have a period. But lately I have been still having a period that lasts about 2 weeks.

Best birth control pill I have ever taken! It has 20mcg of estrogen, versus the 30 or 35mg in most other pills like the other brands I have taken (HATED Ortho-Cyclen and Ortho-Tri-Cyclen because they gave me horrible nausea, mood swings/depression, and I just felt "off" when taking those) I have also been on LoOvral before, and it was not as bad as Ortho-Cyclen, but not as good as Sronyx. I feel normal and haven't had any side effects from taking Sronyx. No spotting, periods are very light and painless. I would recommend this pill!Read More Read Less

I was on Yasmin/Ocella a year or so ago and decided to try out a new birth control. My doctor said this had the lowest risk for blood clots so I chose it. I have been spotting/on my period for 3 weeks. I went back to a different doctor and she said spotting was very common with this birth control. I also got headaches, very tender breasts and my acne only got a little better. I would not recommend this birth control.

While it's intended use for my case (birth control) was effective (I went unprotected) the side effects for me are absolutely horrible. After i started dating a new boyfriend, i went on my first birth control which was this pill. I'm not normally a moody person, but this pill was just insane. Every little thing that my family or boyfriend did would either send me flying off the handles and yelling at everyone, or i'd start bursting out crying for absolute no reason. Definitely took most of it out on my boyfriend too and put a huge strain on my relationship with him. I almost rather have kids than be arguing with my boyfriend and family constantly. The pill is effective, but there are many side effects. Usually one of the side effects will come out stronger than the other, and mine was the mood swings.Read More Read Less

I have been on Sronyx for three months now and cannot wait to get off. In the short time I have been taking it I have gained about 10 pounds. I eat normally for a 19 year old and work out 3 times a week and it still tagged on the extra weight. I go into a depression for around 4 days out of the month and am very irritable. The slightest thing can make me mad or want to cry. My periods have been about 4 days and normal to heavy. Acne seems to only pop up around my period. The doctor suggested this one because it was free and told me that is was similar to Aviane, but boy was she wrong. I wouldn't highly recommend this pill to anyone unless it was free from your doctor.Read More Read Less

I had a very bad experience with this medication. I have been taking birth cotrol pills for about 7 years and this is the worst pill I have taken. I unwillingly tried it for 5 months because of health insurance issues and its been a nightmare. I had constant mood swings, headaches almost everyday, and the worst that happened in 5 months without changing anything in my diet and still exercising I gained 39 llbs out of nowhere and I'm not lying! I went from 135 to 174 in only 5 months! Now Im having the hardest time loosing this weight that I literally gained overnight! :( This medication has also affected my libido. If you have the opportunity to take another medication besides this one DO IT, because even if your body were to react different than mine, you never know just try something else before considering this one! I was on Ortho-Cyclen for about 3 months and broke out with terrible jawline cystic acne that wouldn't go away. Literally one week after starting Sronyx it is gone! I was so pleased. I also no longer get the mood swings I used to and I haven't noticed any breast size changes or weight changes. Overall a great pill, don't be scared from the other reviews.

I was on the ring until I started having pain, cramping, and vomiting often, along with weeks of emotions. I switched to thsronyx because my doctor said it had less hormones. Upon switching I felt almost withdrawal symptoms, whether from the ring or pill I didn't know. Im 2 months into the pill, still emotional, and I started my period early, or heavy irregular bleeding. Now im worried my weight loss might be a symptom, along with the bleeding. Planning an appointment with my doctor.

The only reason I am satisfied with this product is bc I am not pregnant.... I am 22 years old and this was my first birth control experience. With sronyx I have had regular periods and virtually no acne but I have also had increased anxiety, headaches, mood swings, food cravings, weight gain (11 lbs in 6 months), and a major decrease in libido. This pill is definitely not for everyone and I am currently looking to switch to a different brand.

Before i stated i looked are the reviews and learn a lot, some say that they have gained wight and some say they haven't. And some say that it makes you depressed and irritable yes but i have a really small loop hold and i mean small. I start taking mine at night around 10:20pm or 11:00pm so the hungry feeling and the irritable comes down a lot. and i have lost 20bls in 3mos and still loosing it love that part. but the depressing is something that comes and goes.

Due to a change in my insurance I had to change from Yaz to Sronyx. I cannot wait to get off of it. I have been on it for about 5 months. My skin is breaking out at least 1 week a month. But besides that my mood swings have been awful. For about 3 days a month i cry unconsolably. And find myself increasingly irritable. And my appetite has spiked for sure. I have gained 10lbs in the 5 months.
