About 3 months ago I decided I wanted to go on birth control. There are two different types of this pill one with a high dose of hormones, the other with low. Most likely many of the women complaining about Sronyx was on a higher dosage. So newcomers to this pill don't freak out! Also it's important to remember that if you have a bad experience with something you are more likely to write a review. This drug has a higher percentage of success/satisfaction rate than many bigger brands. Don't be afraid to try it!

I used Sronyx for 3 months, I was hoping it would help decrease acne along with the birth control. The first month I was tired for 2 weeks and emotional. My period was lighter but lasted 7 days instead of the normal 5. The second month I noticed I broke out more while taking it, I wanted to try it out for 3 months before I considered changing brands. By the third month, my acne was worse, period lasted longer and I lost about 14lbs(not a good thing). I didn't realize I lost a significant amount of weight until I saw the doctor (to change my prescription). I am assuming my appetite had decreased. Oddly enough, I suffered weight loss rather than the latter. Read More Read Less

Switched from cryselle because I was breaking out with acne everywhere. Sronyx is even worse for me. Acne all over my shoulders and face. It has also given me horrible headaches every day. The worst part is the fact that I am extremely moody and depressed. People actually ask me what is wrong because I am not myself on these pills and I have no control over my emotions. Also made me tired constantly. Very light periods though so that is one plus, but I will be switching once again.

I got switched off of Yaz because of the risks involved and got switched to this. During the second month I bled for over 2 weeks straight in the middle of the pack. Thinking it was just an effect of switching pills I kept taking them. Same thing happened during the 4th month, not to mention weight gain and increase craving for all junk food. I never really craved junk food before. I also felt sick to my stomach for the first two months. Went back to another doctor and he said that it was too low a strength to prevent break through bleeding and that birth controls keep trying to lower the dose in hopes of decreasing risks, but it has not been proven. I would never take this again. I wish they put me back on Yaz.Read More Read Less

This is actually my 8th month on the pill. It started at very great. My periods were finally starting on a regular day, they were some what lighter, i had little nausea at first but its normal. But the last few months ive been on it ive noticed my periods getting alot lighter and i sometimes wake up with stomach pains in the middle of the night followed by nausea. Ive noticed that it does that especially if you miss a pill and have to take two in one day. Although ive only done this a few times. So please dont miss any pills if you plan on using this birth control. I didnt get the option of choosing my birth control but i am considering on changing.Read More Read Less

This is my second month of using this pill. I used to be on Yaz but my doctor changed me because of the higher risks caused by Yaz. I was okay the first month, didn't notice any changes, but this month I literally eat till I want to throw up and I have been bleeding for over a week in the middle of the pack. I was a little late for one pill, which is when the bleeding started, but not even 24 hours late. I'm hoping this changes with time, but if not, I'm definitely changing birth control.

I'm pretty happy with Sronyx. Sex drive hasn't changed, I haven't gained any weight. My period always starts on Tuesday afternoon. The only con is that I've had a little nausea and headaches, but it's not enough to interfere with my life.

About 3 months ago I decided I wanted to go on birth control. I went to a doctor and talked about my options, because I have migraines with aura, but I just decided to go with the pill and see if it gave me any headaches. The week leading up to when I was going to start my first pack, I made the mistake of searching reviews online. I really think everyone flocks to the internet to complain about their bad experiences with a product or drug, so all the reviews I read really made me reconsider starting on the pill. Reports of terrible headaches, increase in irrational emotions, decreased sex drive, etc. were abound. I talked to my roommate, who has been on it for about a year, and she re-convinced me to try it. It's been fine and I'm quite happy being on the pill. I had very mild headaches the first few days, but they subsided. My breasts grew a whole cup size, and my periods are so much more manageable, much shorter and less heavy. Also, I've never had regular periods, so the regularity is quite refreshing. Skin is clearer and smoother. Obviously, not everyone has had the same experience, but there's really no way to know what method is right for you until you try one. If you don't like the way the pill makes you feel, then just stop. Don't continue on in misery for months. Try something else, and don't let negative reviews deter you from making your own decisions about your contraception.Read More Read Less

I have not had sex before, and I am getting married in a week. So I've been taking Sronyx for a good 4 months now. It worries me to see all the negative reviews, but none of them actually have said that they didn't prevent them from getting pregnant. That is my main concern. I have noticed though that each month my period becomes lighter, and lighter. So much that this month its barely there at all! One panty-liner for the whole day is even too much! Does this mean it isn't working right and I can get pregnant? Help someone..Read More Read Less

I've been taking this pill for almost 4 months. Since I've been on this pill i don't eat like i used to and i've been getting mad easily. I've lost almost ten pounds, which isn't all that bad. During my first month taking the pill I felt really sick all the time.

I switched to Sronyx from Nuvaring (bad for me!) and I did gain 5 lbs due to my hunger and cravings being out of control. I do get a little more emotional also which is hard to control at times but Other than that not too bad, since it is hormonal and putting hormones into your body is going to give some kind of side effect. I am going to give it 3 months because it is the lowest dose hormones and other than the hunger & sensitive emotions I have not experienced the craziness I did with Nuvaring. I guess I just have to make healthier food choices and drink tons of water. Good luck!Read More Read Less

I started taking Sronyx 3 months ago and have had no period. I've taken 4 pregnancy tests and they are all negative. My moods have been a roller coaster. I'm extremely irritable. I have gained weight unfortunately. All I want to do is eat junk. This is not like me. I am definitely getting off this pill asap. I don't recommend it. My dr. put me on it because I had tenderness and swelling in my breasts, so the lower dosage of hormones were supposed to make that go away. The pain went away but all the weight gain and mood swings came instead. I don't recommend this.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Sronyx for almost a month now and have experienced little side effects -slight nausea in the morning for a few days and then increased irritability and moodiness around the third week (which was controllable and nothing too bothersome)- that were normal and weren't that bad for me.I was taking Tri-previfem (triphasic pill)and I didn't really like that because I gained about 5-10 pounds and my moods were just really up and down. I like Sronyx so far because I have not gained weight and I find that taking B-vitamins(since the pill depletes it)and exercising at least once a week helps with overall mood and health. I also have not experienced any headaches nor a decrease in sex drive. My breasts feel tender every now and then and they seem to look bigger, which I like because I want a slightly large cup size, haha. Overall, happy with this pill.Read More Read Less

I used Sronyx for about two years and was overall very satisfied. I never got pregnant and my period become much lighter (and regular). I did gain about 10 pounds and my acne improved only slightly, however. Also, I did notice a major decrease in arousal.

i just started my third pack of pills on Sronyx that the teen clinic prescribed to me saying that it's the least hormones and should have the least side affects, all that i've noticed is that i want to eat EVERYTHING, i'm always hungry, i'm not really sure if i gained any weight because my weight fluctuates from 88 to 98, it's been in the high 90's though. also my period used to come every 35-45 days and lasted 7-8 days and since starting the pill it has come regularly every 28 days on the sunday but it also lasts for 7-9 days, so the only thing it did is give me frequent periods, but at least i'm not pregnant... i hope i don't gain too much weightRead More Read Less

I have had NO badside effects from this pill. My periods are shorter than usual which was a concern at first, but I am not pregnant. Lower sex drive than usual, but I can deal with that.
