I took excedrin for 30 years while I was working, and it got me through any pain I had!It worked within 10 mins, and I only needed to take one pill when ever I needed it! Why did they take it off the market?

I took two tablets of Excedrin Migraine Extra Strength at the onset of a sinus headache today. It's the only painkiller that my sister carries, and I thought 'what's the harm?' A lot, it turns out. To begin with, the pills themselves are quite large and rough and difficult to swallow. Within minutes of taking it, I had developed the worst heartburn of my life, and I never get heartburn. It made me feel extremely nauseous, which is still persisting, even though I took it several hours ago. I'm dizzy and listless and I have no energy, even though there's no reason for me to feel like this. My torso from my throat to my stomach was incredibly tight, I had trouble breathing, and I felt like my body was on fire. Not a pleasant feeling. And to top it all off, my headache still lingers! I'm 23 and the only medication I take is Seasonique birth control (which I love).Read More Read Less

I Love Excedrin. It works every time I take it. The "caffeine" doesn't put me to sleep, as many other drugs do. I have been taking it for more than 25 years.

Took 2 and also got very sick. Extremly fast heart beat for 3-4 Hr non stop. My mouth dry and made my jaw twitch for hours. Peed way more than normal. Shakey and I'm a large built woman. Very scarey if it's your first time like mine. Never will take this medication AGAIN!!! thought I was gonna die of a heart attack. My heart beat eS coming out of my mouth. And I am a coffee drinker. And do not take any other medication.

I have had chronic headaches since I was 12 and I am now 24. I have used Excedrin for 5+ years now and it has always gotten rid of my headache completely as long as I take it right when I start to feel a headache coming on. The caffeine is hard to get used to, after I took the medicine for the 6th or 7th time, I didn't feel the shakyness anymore. It is no worse than drinking a couple cups of coffee, if you're not used to that it'll make you feel shaky and sick too. The Excedrin also gives you some energy, from the caffeine, and will help your headache the most if you take it on an empty stomach. If you get an upset stomach after the fact, then it is best to eat at that point, so at least your headache is gone. I've found that if I take the Excedrin after eating, my headache doesn't go away. I think the whole point of the caffeine is to speed the pain relievers to the headache and stop the pain, which doesn't happen as fast when you're full. I have also found that it's best to take this earlier in the day so that by the evening time the caffeine has worn off somewhat so you don't have trouble going to sleep. This is the only medicine I have found that has gotten rid of my headaches and I can't live without it now.Read More Read Less

Far and away the best over-the-counter medication I've found for dealing with all types of headaches.
