I really like femcon, it has worked out really well for me! I have had less nausea, headaches & my period are shorter & lighter! If you do miss 1 pill you will start bleeding, so it reminds you very much if you forget to take them the right way.

I swiched from Mirena (IUD) to Femcon Fe after some very serious problems with the Mirena side effects. I have been on Femcon for atlieast 4 maybe 5 months now, so plenty of time for my body to adjust. This last month I had my period like normal then now 1 week later I am having it again. It's not just spotting either. I called my doctors nurse today and she said it was ok as long as it doesn't happen next month. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am 29 years old and have been taking birth control pills since I was 16 to both help with very painful cramps and for birth control. In June of 2008 I switched to Femcon at my doctor's suggestion. We were trying to find a pill that might help more with my painful cramps. I always took my pill at the same time each night and still had break through bleeding and sometimes would get my period during weeks two or three of the pack. My doctor told me this was all fine and to remain on it. In December I never got my period and wasn't feeling good. I took a test and found out I was pregnant. I ended up being almost two months along. This happened without ever missing a pill or taking it late and I wasn't on any other medication. All my doctor could say was, "I'm so sorry. This hardly ever happens." Read More Read Less

I've been taking Femcon Fe for about 5 months. I have an appointment to get on a different birth control immediately. It WAS effective at preventing pregnancy, controlling pms symptoms, and making my periods shorter. But let me tell you my horror story about this medication... I was in my 4th month of taking this birth control with only mild syptoms such as headaches and leg itching, when, I developed a severe yeast infection. I brushed it off and blamed it on other things. The next week, I had my period, on schedule. I was 3 days in to my new pack, when I developed my 2nd yeast infection. The next week I had a UTI. Then to top it off, I started my period 9 days early. (I think this was caused by the UTI medicine-my doctor said it might). Finishing up my period, I started my new pack of pills. 2 days into this pack, guess what, a 3rd yeast infection! Coincidence? I don't think so. Both the yeast infections and the UTI were the MOST SEVERE I've ever experienced. Definetly caused by medicine or hormones. The hormones in this birth control did not work for me!Read More Read Less

I've been taking Femcon for a few months now, when I first started the medication I experienced pretty bad nausea. Once I had been on it for about 2/3 months the nausea stopped, and I'm happy with my BC now. Other symptoms I noticed was mood flucuations, but nothing extreme.

I have been on this pill for 7 months. And although it has stopped the heavy bleeding and sever cramps that I was having before. I am now a 40yrs old woman with Acne. I have gained about 15 pounds and my mood swings are so out of control that I almost lost my boyfriend. I'm always sad/depressed and tired. Not matter how much sleep I get. I just called my doctor today to switch to another Rx.Mainly because my insurance does not cover the high cost of this pill.

I started taking Femcon about a year and half ago, but the side effects were so outrageous that I got off the pill. The most bothersome effects were constant headaches, vision problems, leg cramps, low sex drive, and mood fluctuations. I just realized that hormones are just not working for me. I think this brand in particular was one of the worst I have taken, but then again I am getting older, so it could be my body as well.

First week after my period I get headaches and leg spasms. I haven't slept a full night in the year since I have been taking Femcon FE. Lowered my sex drive. Drove my blood pressure up. I just came off this med and got the IUD, I hope I go back to normal

I was on Yaz and it was the worst pill for me. I switched to Femcon and it has been great. No headaches at all. On my second pack my period was from 7 days down to 1.5 which is wonderful. The only thing is increased hair loss which is normal with birth controls due to estrogen. It's a common side effect which can go away within 3-4 months of use. I hope so because this pill works for me well. Downside, it costs $75.

I started to take this pill when I was 16. Not because I wanted to have sex but because before this pill, I used to get my period 2 times a month (7 days each) and they used to be extremely heavy, to the point that I couldn't go to school. My gyn prescribed me this birth control and I have to say that it did its job. I didn't get any strange side effects like mood swings or headaches. In fact, I was probably more happy on the pill. I had lots of energy. And my period had greatly reduced. I had my period once a month for 5 days and it was always predictable. I had spotting for 3 days during the first week that I started. But then it was all good. This pill helped me alot. Read More Read Less

I have been on Femcon for almost 3yrs now and I havent had any side effects that I could tie to this BC. I got it right after I had my baby so yes I had some extra weight that I just cant seem to get rid of so maybe that is actually a side effect. I get my period on time every month, I had regular periods for the first few months now I have very light spotting for a day or two. I do have headaches but they arent that bad.

I've been on this BC for almost 4 years now (used to be Ovcon 35 now Femcon FE) and I'm on my last pack before I stop using birth control. I didn't realize until recently that the way that I've been feeling for the last 4 years wasn't just me being me, it was side effects from the birth control. Not only do I have dark spots on my forehead, nose, and upper lip, but I have experienced pretty much every other side effect. I feel like I've had a headache for the last 4 years, I have intense anxiety/nervousness, very low sex drive, weight gain, and breast tenderness. I've been w/ my boyfriend for 7 years now and I've finally decided to stop taking BC and go for condoms and spermicidal lube. This birth control is not worth the side effects that it caused me. I'm ready to have my life back!!Read More Read Less

I wish there was a better overall rating system. For birth control, it works well seeing as I am not pregnant. It has shortened may periods to 3 days with very light bleeding and no breakthrough bleeding. I have not had any side effects. The only thing I am a little disappointed about is that I am still breaking out like a teenager when I haven't been one for quite some time.
