Was on Wellbutrin for a yr then was switched to Budebrion. Been on Budeprion XL 300mg for a yr now. It's been great for me. Read all the other reviews which say it is terrible. Guess I must be the exception. I found absolutely no difference or side effects when I was switched over.

I have gained 15 lbs, I have been moody and I cry at the drop of a hat. I wasn't ever like this when I was on Wellbutrin. I didn't know it could be Budeprion until I started reading other people's stories. I definitely need to talk to my doctor about switching over to Wellbutrin.

Bad, bad bad. Budeprion SR is NOT the same drug as Wellbutrin SR or even Buproprion SR. I used Buproprion in the past. With Budeprion SR, I experienced rages, suicidal thoughts, and I lost an important relationship in my life (because I was so impulsive and ragey that I ended it). I also experienced massive hair loss with BudeprionSR. Awful, awful awful. Stay away from this generic. I'm still smoking too, so it did not even work for that. I'm going to my doctor next week to get represcribed for the real drug, Wellbutrin or Buproprion. Who are they kidding with this Budeprion -- it is AWFUL. I thought of killing myself A LOT and so did my brother, who also went on it for smoking cessation. B.S. Fake Harmful Drug If you want to lose your hair and feel angry and want to kill yourself, take Budeprion. Otherwise, save yourself and your loving family relationships (I lost someone important to me because of how angry this drug made me)& STEER CLEAR of this FALSE IMPOSTER. I don't know who they had to pay to get this false benefit approved through the evil insurance companies. Read More Read Less

I'm currently pregnant so there are only a few type anti-depressants that i'm allowed to take that would be safe for the baby. my dr gave me a prescription for the name brand but the pharmacist at walgreens changed it to generic budeprion XL 150mg and i have already noticed that it's not working out for me, in less that a month of taking this i still feel sad all the time and almost want to just give up on my goals. my mood swings are still clearly visible in my actions towards my friends and husband. the thing that effect me th emost is that i feel the sadness and want to cry but now when i do, no tears come out. it don't stop the sadness, just my tears. i'm never had anything like this before, and it really hurts me emotionally. after reading other reviews, i plan to contact my dr in the morning adn ask to be taken off of it. with out it effecting the baby. Used the name brand for several years and was very pleased. Was changed to the generic without my knowledge and have had a very bad experience. I have been taking the generic for a little more than 6 months and I did not know about the problems with this drug. After reading all the posted comments I now understand and am very upset! My headaches have increased, I don't have any energy, I have to take a sleeping pile every night to get some rest. I have been very angry, losing my temper at home and work, and crying for no reason. I don't have the desire to have sex with my husband anymore and that's definitely affecting our relationship. I am planning on seeing my doctor next week (ASAP) to get her to take me off the generic. I would not recommend this medicine to anyone!Read More Read Less

Hi, I started w/150mg tablet from my medical doctor... Felt no change.. Saw Psychiatrist went to 300 mg, got really dry mouth, and dry hacky cough when I tried to lay down. Quit cold turkey, got real ill, pluse, when I was using it, I perspired all the time, arms were wet, my wife even kicked my out of bed one night, as she could not stand the wetness every time she would bump me... When I went cold turkey, and I do not recommend it, but I got sick, I felt like I was dying! Horrible feeling... So, after that, I tried 150 mg AM 150 MG pm.... It seemed to make no difference in my mind setting. I have several other medical issues, Rhumatoid Arthritus, ADHD, Ovbesity, My spine has a blown disc at l5/s1. Fixed as far as it can be fixed. Chronic pain in my legs, joints, and loss of strength. There has to be a better option.. Oh yes, since being on this drug, I have developed TREMORS, especially on the left side, my writing is effected, any projects that are small and detailed, can no longer do! Also my vision is effected, eyes hurt especially when I get tired. I would not recommend this drug to anybody, I have had a very negative experience.... Read More Read Less

I am so glad to have read the reviews from other people. I have taken Welbutrin XL or Welbutrin SR for almost five years. I recently switched to the generic budeprion XL and I thought I was losing my mind. I knew something was wrong with me, but I just figured out yesterday that is must be the drug. I have been very irritable and angry fo no reason. I want to cry constantly throughout the day. I never had any problems with the Welbutrin brands. I felt normal, and experienced little to no side effects. I am calling my doctor today to switch back. Something is wrong with the generic form. The FDA needs to pull this drug, it is going to cause a disasterous result for someone.Read More Read Less

I always feel angry and snap at the people I love. I have a short tolerance for grandchildren and hate the fact that I'm like this because I love them dearly and want to be a quality grandparent.

Took this drug once (for 2 wks) to help control smoking...thought it was working great, did shut down those receptors that crave the cigarette, even found after awhile that the smoke started tasting awful, then broke out in itching/hives (my sister died & thought it could just be stress) Went back to doctor recently to try again (was told this was NOT a reaction to drug) Took the drug for 1 week and have had an even worse reaction-itching/hives/throat swelling/irritability for 3 weeks now. I did not have any success with it helping with my smoking this time. After researching this on numerous websites I would strongly caution anyone considering this drug for smoking or depression. After about two years of not feeling right, I was referred to a psychiatrist who decided that I had a "mild depression" and therefore prescribed me Wellbutrin XL. Where I live, state law requires that all prescriptions be dispensed as generic, unless otherwise noted by the doctor. Needless to say, when I picked up my prescription it was the generic form, Budeprion XL150. Noticed a very scarce improvement to which my my doctor upped my dose to 300mg. Now I feel hyper and have dry mouth. Also, I have recently become aware of many stories in the media highlighting generic mediactions (namely, Budeprion XL) in a negative light...perhaps I should fork over the extra money and switch to Wellbutrin?Read More Read Less

I was switched from wellbutrin XL to budeprion XL without permission from my doctor. Husband couldn't figure out why I was getting angry so easily. I never used to believe that there was much of a difference in generic vs brand name since I had never had any problems before, but this particular drug the newly created budeprion XL that was made after exclusivity rights expired does not release evenly and caused wide mood swings. Do not recommend it and it is being heavily pushed by whomever is creating it. I quit using one pharmacy because they blatantly ignored my doctors RX not to substitue, but now the pharmacy I've been using sent me home with the same thing and I didn't realize it until I got home and opened the bottle. They are really pushing this version which I have heard many people are having problems with. Never had trouble with the original bupropion XL generic for wellbutrin XLRead More Read Less

My doctor switched me from Effexor to this because I had gained 10 pounds and was exhausted ALL the time. Of course, the pharmacy substituted this generic for the Wellbutrin prescription my doctor wrote. I noticed I had more energy and wasn't as tired as the Effexor but I have become SOOOO depressed. I have since requested Wellbutrin and am going to try that. I think this generic version is not effective in curbing depression.

Taken Wellbutrin before with no problems. Very dissatisified with the generic version Budeprion XL 150. Within a week I experienced body aches, night sweats, nightmares, abdominal cramps even offset my menstrual cycle. Stop taking altogether and felt better in a matter of days. I advise all who have experienced any negative effects to report it, I did. Someone may not research this and think its them going insane!
