I've been on VyVanse (60mg) for 5 months now. I have been able to compare the medication in 2 different scenarios during this time. For 4 of the months, I was working 40 hours a week landscaping. Prior to the meds, I had constant racing thoughts and never seemed to be able to focus on something long enough to finish it. The meds stopped the racing thoughts and seemed to "zone me in" on the tas...

Not effective. You’re better off not taking it. Does nothing. FDA approved this and in my opinion it puts them is question.

Vyvanse 70 MG for about 16 months (50 and 60 MGs when 70 MGs was not available). Vyvanse has assisted with managing focus and balance for work/life. I do not recall ever having started with a brand name medication and then taking the generic equivalent. I have always taken generic medication, happily, because of price, believing it was the exact same product. My own experience (2 weeks) on lisdexamfetamine 70MG has been a noticble difference. My focus and concentration levels are challenged and my energy and sleep patern in the evening is out of alignment. I do not believe the FDA allows the ingredients of a brand and generic to differ. I have put in a script request for the brand and will pay the extra $15. I am very curious as to why, how, and causation for the difference in the generic, as I am not a brand champ/advocate. I really want the cheapest version that works. Read More Read Less

I’ve taken Vyvanse for years for binge eating/eating disorder. I got the generic this time because Vyvanse has gone up to $150 a month on my insurance.?? The generic Vyvanse does absolutely NOTHING!! It’s horrible and NOTHING like the real thing!! It needs to be taken off the market or fixed!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Absolute junk. Taken vyvanse forb15yrs. Love it, it really changed my life. Recently I was switched to generic. Now my life is miserable. Constant tiredness, inability to focus, teeth clenching, rapid heart rate, shaking, dizzy, just down right TERRIBLE!

I've been on brand name Vyvanse for going on 5 years now. Everyday was the same. Before this was Adderall which was a roller coaster of emotion. Finally I thought I was where I was supposed to be mentally. Then without notice I picked up the generic version without knowing. I could tell the difference immediately. Which is extraordinarily disappointing being that I went to my psychiatrist the next month to tell him I experience only to be snapped at that that both of them are the same exact things. I'm the one that's actually taking this and I'm telling you they are not the same. 40 mg XR Vyvanse kicks in after 45 minutes slowly tapers off around 5 hours and kicks back in after 6 hours to 8 or 9 hours. The generic version takes an hour and a half to kick in, is much weaker at controlling symptoms which taper off after about an hour and a half to 2 hours. It does not kick back in the way an XR should. Luckily for me I thought, my insurance covers the brand. Well here comes 2024 and I guess my insurance changed their mind. Now it's $270 for a 30 count of brand name Vyvanse. They are basically forcing you to get their crappy generic. How can you let someone be on a medication for years and years only to come around and change it out of nowhere. Sickening.Read More Read Less

I was put on the generic and fall of 2023 and did not know. By December, I scheduled an appointment with my doctor stating that my current dose was no longer working and would he consider upping me from 40 to 50 mg. I started that last week and the new dose has had no effect on me. This is not the norm for my body. When I filled this last prescription, I actually looked at the bottle to make sure they change the dosage and saw that it was the generic form. That’s when I questioned the pharmacist, and was told I had been receiving it since October. In the meantime, I did not make the connection then, but I was getting multiple bouts of motion sickness, and nauseousness, and did not make the connection to the change in medication. I actually went to see my doctor to see if I had an ear infection, which I did not. I’m now piecing the puzzle together and I’m realizing that the symptoms started at the same time I was placed on the generic. so the generic no longer alleviated my obtrusive thoughts and exacerbated feelings of dizziness and nauseousness. I’ve asked my doctor if I can try the prescription brand again for next month so I hope all of these symptoms and ineffectiveness go away. By the way, the cost of the generic was not much cheaper. I’d much rather pay to have my symptoms alleviated than not. Read More Read Less

Since switching to the generic form of Vyvanse, it seems that my symptoms are no longer controlled.

I have been on Vyvanse 70mg for fifteen years with no problems. So grateful I could now focus and hold down a good job. Then the government decided to screw things up!! The generic version of Vyvanse is absolutely pathetic! The side effects are grotesque. Teeth continuously hurts, extremely tired within four hours of consumption, stomach upset, can’t focus, moody and severe headaches.

I've been in Vyvance for over 10 years. The generic has given me side effects that Vyvance never did, the worst being teeth clinching to the point it gave me an ear ache. I'm no where near as focused and stay really tired. My insurance stop covering Vyvance and will only cover generic.

The generic isn't as effective as brand name Vyvanse. I was on the brand name version for 15 years. My insurance switched me to the generic when it was released and it's completely ineffective. I've been struggling more with my ADHD in the last few months than I have in many years. It's also been giving me more migraines.

Background: Took 50mg Vyvanse for BED for almost a year. Once generic hit market in 2023 summer/fall pharmacy automatically filled Rx with manufacturer "Solco" same dosage, but awful side effects due to fillers. Side effects include severe inability to focus, aloofness, spaced, blurred vision, nausea and invoked or triggered BE due to severity of mental and physical alteration. Dr was notified and transitioned to another generic "Alvogen", again same dosage (50mg). First month was fine, as it was a drastic improvement from Solco experience. Second fulfillment I noticed effectiveness and duration was drastically different from the first month. Alvogen would kick-in about an hour or so after orally taking, and then last about three to four hours before side effects such as tiredness, irritability, sensitivity to light and sounds became evident. Nervous to resume medical treatment as the side effects are noticeable not just by me, but for those around me. Read More Read Less

Was diagnosed with ADHD over a year ago, was able to get Vyvanse thru insurance. It had such a positive impact and helped me improve my quality of life in so many ways. I even got a huge promotion at work... had energy for my kid, was physically healthier, etc. Generic came out - insurance switched me over. I wasn't worried at first- same active ingredients, no big deal, right? Wrong. For the past 3 months I've been on it, it's been horrid. I get about 5 hours of jittery focus before crashing so hard that I fall asleep at my desk, and then brain fog and difficulty sleeping the rest of the day and night. Plus I crave carbs and eat a ridiculous amount of food at night. I've gained 10 lbs the last 3 months. This can't be how I live my life...but 360+$ a month for Vyvanse?? I don't have a way to cover that...Read More Read Less

This generic is not the same as the name brand Vyvanse at all. It’s inefficient on every level. Leaves me constantly feening for more. Going from the name brand Vyvanse that worked amazing and that was life-changing for me to this terrible knock off is absolutely devastating.

After trial and error of several meds from bipolar meds to now adhd meds, we finally found something that worked. The brand name Vyvanse did wonders, now that the generic has came out, it is the worst. I can feel that I am unfocused, it wears off quickly, I feel depressed, and the insomnia is horrible. The generic being released caused the insurances to move up tiers which is more than it was when there was no generic.

I have been on 30mg of Vyvanse for a year, my insurance stopped covering Vyvanse so I had to switch to the generic bc they covered that. It is like I am taking nothing at all. I thought I was going crazy like did I get empty capsules. I came here and have been seeing people are having the same exact problem. My appetite has increased, I have no energy at all I have to drink an energy drink just to get going. I used to love to read now I can't stay focused to read so I have not been doing it. This is so hard to believe this is "suppose" to be the same medication. I want off this bc its pointless to take if I don't get any help from taking the medication. Read More Read Less

I switched to the generic due to the name brand not being consistently available. It has made me feel jittery, unfocused, and generally exhausted. This in addition to nausea and diarrhea. The medication does not work.

I’ve never felt worse on ADD medication. The fact that this generic mixture was approved by our government is alarming to me. There’s a crisis for those with ADD and the pharmaceutical companies and Insurance companies are the only winners in this. I will pay $400 a month for branded next time and not go through insurance. Really shocked that a medication that is 0% effective and only has downside could be approved by the US government. We need a thorough investigation into what happened here

The generic form of Vyvanse is terrible and a huge disappointment. . It caused me to be unfocused , drowsy, and caused intermittent rapid heart beat . Threw the full bottle away after trying it for a week. Will gladly pay the high price for Vyvanse again.

Brand name vyvanse helped TREMENDOUSLY WITH BED, the generic which I was switched to unbeknownst to me, had the opposite effect!! I craved carbs terribly and got terrible headaches, fatigue, depression , paranoia, and chest and left arm pains that made me feel like I was having a heart attack!!!! The makers of this GENERIC POISON should be in jail. I am horrified that I wasn’t informed and amazingly, the awful symptoms all went away after stopping this generic. The brand name is fantastic and am now back on it. My insurance no longer covers it though because they claim the generic is “just the same as the brand name.” What a scam! Read More Read Less
