Story: I had taken 20MGs Vyvanse as a kid for ADHD, it worked great and soon I was the smartest kid in my whole class, eventually it just stopped working around middle school so I stopped taking it, and my grades went back down to being barely passing. Sophomore year in Highschool, I decided to try it again because I was failing all my classes because I could never stay focused in class, I asked m...

My 9 year old started Vyvanse after failed attempts with Daytrana and Metadate CD. It's wonderful and she is doing great in school and at home!

First of all, the 50 mg. is a small blue and white capsule. I love Vyvance. I am a 26 year old with ADHD and have had tremendous benefits from it. My migraines are down, and my attention is focused. The only thing I don't like about it is that it only works for about 4 hours, the rest of my day is shot after that.

I changed meds and went to this. After a month my husband had noticed a change in me for the worst. I became cranky, anxious, and was picking at my fingers really bad. Told doctor and he immediately changed me back to my normal med and within a few days I was back to normal.

Started at 50 mg given my body mass (210 lbs). At first, had several days of sleeping problems, but eventually that normalized. I have since increased to the 70 mg. Definate decrease in appetite and higher metabolic rate, resulting in loss of weight (now at 194 lbs, which is a nice side effect). It's been 3 weeks on the medication and I feel more focused and less mentally "scattered". The only other significant side effect I have experienced is dry mouth (fairly constantly, even with lots of water- Sugar-free Jolly Ranchers have helped).Read More Read Less

In April I was diagnosed with ADD and have been on 30 mg. Adderall XR for six months. Once I felt it was losing its effectiveness, my doctor put me on 75 mg. Vyvanse. The first two days it did seem to work a little longer, but after that, it didn't seem to work at all. I found myself not being able to focus and projects piled up. I also started this weird obsessive quirk of pulling the hair on the top of my head. After feeling I had wasted three weeks of my life, I resumed my Adderall XR at 40 mgs. and couldn't feel better. I'm once again calm focused, and very productive. Read More Read Less

Smaller pill than Adderall XR 30mg, also less expensive with my insurance (BCBS PPO). No "jolt" of energy/creativity after an hour of taking it like the Adderall; it's a more gradual increase in energy. I'm on my third day so we'll see how it goes. :)

I was taking the short acting adderall three times a day and it was working fine. I decided to try vyvanse to have the choice of only taking 1 pill instead of 3. I felt sedated and aggravated or annoyed, the entire day. It really does depend on the person because not all medicines work the same. What I have learned is finding a good psychiatrist that will work with you until you get all your symptoms relieved. On the adderall internally I am calmer and more focused but I am still hyper, I talk fast and can still seem impulsive at times. My side effects are minimal just dry mouth. I may try another to see if I can get hyper issues under control. So far I am pleased because I am 35 and I have just recently found out that I had adhd and the adderall has already changed my life. I just started on Vyvanse. I like that way it helps me stay focused at work. I was on Ritialin (sp) as a child and it was hard taking two pills a day. I am 30 years old and was just put back on ADHD meds. I havn't had to take meds for this for about 10 years. I don't like the way it makes me feel in the morning, but overall I think it is a great medicine.

My son have been taking this med. for 1 week and it is excellent compared to the Folican 20mg that he was taking that wore off by 1pm, so I have to say as a parent I am very happy with this new drug. Hope all goes well with everyone and don't let someone else story let your experience down, everyone body is different so know everybody is not going to have a good experience with this drug.

Something that I do is open up the capsule and pour the contents into apple sauce. The mixture of the food and the medication makes it a lot easier on the stomach. The common misconception is that you need the capsule, but that is not true. One the capsule enters your body, it starts to dissolve. The capsule does nothing, but carry it's contents to your stomach. If the medication does bother your stomach, try opening the capsule and mixing it in apple sauce. It really does work. Vyvanse 30mg is like Adderall Xr 10mg Vyvanse 50mg is like Adderall Xr 20mg Vyvanse 70mg is like Adderall Xr 30mg If you have been on Adderall Xr and it is not working try Vyvnase. It is extremely similar and works exactly the same. I am a pharmacist and it has worked on my child. His grades are much better. I do recommend it ot my patients. Read More Read Less

The effects this treatment has on my schooling is unbelievable. It helps me to focus on what I'm working on without altering my mood or personality.

I took Vyvanse my self before giving to my 7 yr. son. It's like "speed", and really drives up the heart rate. Not sure I would recomend it, but it dose do it's job. My son has gotten straigh A's in school and "night & day" change in focusing. He complains about the the "dry mounth" after 2 weeks. I think we're going to try something else!

I had taken Adderall xr for year and a half. I had good results, however experienced need for dose increase. Vyvanse: I experience incresed thirst, "salty taste", G.I upset, vomitting, hheartburn, palpitations, increased blood pressure, increased anxiety, irritability, and depression. I now take a medication to lower blood pressure and nexium for heartburn etc. I am not satisfied with this med and prefer the adderall to control my add symptoms.

From a child age of 2, this boy has been on every drug possible and including a 2 week stay at the age of five in a psychiatric facility inpatient. Nothing has worked right out the gate, Vyvanse is the first drug that worked consistently through school. Thank you so much
