I have been able to run longer and with more ease using this medication. My concerns the soreness that I experience after running and the weight that I continue to gain. I exercise on a regular basis, eat right but since I started using this medication I can't seem to control my weight which wasn't a problem before.

I have taken several other asthma drugs but never felt any improvement. Within the first few doses I felt better, within a few days I felt great. I have never had such a drastic improvement. I dont mind taking this drug I can toss it in my purse and take it with me. This drug has worked wonders!

After I began treatment with Symbicort I developed a rash on my face. I came to WebMD to look up other possible adverse reactions. Now that I have read the reviews, I will definitely stop using Symbicort. I thought I may be ill (have had a flu shot) because of the nausea and severe headaches (beyond what I normally have). My joints have been very achy and my insomnia has gotten worse (along with nightmares). Although I take two anti-depressants, my depresion has gotten so bad that I cry all the time. When I am not crying, I am snapping at someone (quick temper). I have been using Symbicort for app two weeks and have already put on enough weight that I had to go up a size to my larger jeans. I wish I had known about these side effects before starting Symbicort.Read More Read Less

For several weeks I had a very bad cough, wheezing and underlying infections. My doctor prescribed symbicort. It has helped the wheezing. I get a little dizzy at times and have gained much weight. My throat is sore and my knees hurt when I am finished exercising, which was never a problem before. The pain only lasts for about 5 minutes. Overall, it is nothing I can't bare.

I have had asthma for 3 years, and after nothing works very good to get rid of my cough, my Dr. gave me this to try. After 4 days of 2 puffs, 2 times a day, I ended up in the ER with heart palipatations, and high blod preasure and heart rate. Because it seams to be helping where others have not I will continue to try it at a lower dose,1 puff, 1 time a day then increase to 1 puff 2 times a day. Hopefully this will help.

My 12-year old was put on Symbicort as his lungs were only working at 50%. In two weeks time, his breathing increased to 65%. Symbicort seems to be working and he has had no side effects so far. It's great to see your chld breathe easily! We'll know more when he returns to the doctor for his 2 month check-up in two weeks.

i was coughing for 3 weeks straight and the doctor said i have asthma. She gave me this to take and it made the cough worse and at about the same time i started this my allergies when out of whack even while i'm taking 2 really good allergy medicines. it is possible though that i was misdiagonsed and i'm having an allergic reaction to my bp med.

I have been suffering with asthma for about 15 years. I breifly used advair (very effective, but the powder made my throat sound very hoarse when I spoke). I stopped that and the doctor gave me symbicort instead. With the symbicort I am able to sleep through the night without waking up to puff on a rescue inhaler. In fact, I breathe easy all day. Workouts are a breeze. I feel like the old me again.

I am an adult using a child's dose of Symbicort. Muscle and joint pain began 3-4 days after I started using it. I stayed on it for a month and went off due to above side effects.

This drug did work at clearing up my asthma that usually acts up every winter. However, it did not work as well as the Advair and the side effects are unbearable. This medication made me very dizzy, worsened my depression, made me angry (intermittently), kept me up late at night (2 AM the last two nights). I called my doctor today so I can switch meds becuase this is unbearable. I have a history of depression, and I'm so annoyed that this as worsened it. It will take great effort to get back on track.Read More Read Less

I was on singulair but it didn't help so my doctor put me on symbicort. I've been on it for 4 months now and have greatly improved. I noticed a difference right away.

I breath easier with this drug than I did with flovent and foradil. Maybe I get more into my lungs.
