Horrible horrible pill. I have been on it for 2 years. It gives me weird bumps on my chin that don't go away unless I pick at them and scab over into horrible pus scabs. I am not me, I yell at stupid things, cry for no reason and have suicidal thoughts. My emotions are like I am on my period times 10. I literally can't stop crying or being angry at everyone. This pill has completely changed who I ...

I'm really surprised at the reaction some have had when switching from Kariva to Azurette. I've had no reaction to the switch. My periods are perfectly regular, and I've had no other side effects.

Was on Kariva for years-had no problems. Pharmacy changed to Azurette and in one month, I had "break through" bleeding for 3 weeks straight (plus a full on period for one more week), migraines, cramping & nausea, excessive night sweats, strange dreams, mood swings and feelings of sadness, and constant bloating. Awful side effects-and I refused to be a "guinea pig" for one more month. Had to go to Target to get back on Kariva-but would rather pay more than go though what I just did. No one should be forced to put up with these medical complications just because it's cheaper for a pharmacy to dispense Azurette! Read More Read Less

Like many of you have said, Walgreens has switched my birth control from Kariva to Azurette. I have been getting horrible cramps, headaches, and heavy periods ever since the switch. I eventually had to have my doctor make sure to prescribe Kariva and put "fill as prescribed" and then I had to switch my pharmacy to Walmart and they could actually fill Kariva. I am so glad to be on something different.

Overall, this pill has done its job. My periods have never been more regular, and my acne has disappeared. However, I am having odd discoloration marks near my left breast.

Intense, prolonged headaches and nausea. Used to take Yaz, but switched because it caused fatigue. I would rather be tired than this!

I was switched to this after taking Kariva for a year. Walgreens told me it was the same drug. It is not! Kariva did an amazing job at controlling my migraines, six weeks on Azurette and I was back to one or two migraines a week. Don't take this if you're looking for migraine control.

I've had some bad experiences with weight gain and mood swings on birth control. Azurette has had no side effects and I still feel like myself.

I have tried over 10 different kinds of birth control in the last 2 years. The only other pill that didn't give me side effects was Yaz, but then I gained weight after about 4 months. I've been on azurette for 6 months now and thought I had no side effects other than no sex drive whatsoever. I am now losing a lot of hair. My general practioner did a lot of blood work, which all came back perfectly normal. He said the only other thing could be from the azurette. I did start losing a lot of hair 3 months into the pill. So, I will discontinue after this month and see what happens!Read More Read Less

I switched from mircette and kariva because I switched pharmacies. I've been on it for 3 months and will STOP taking this pill! I've never been affected emotionally from a birth control pill, but this one has caused major mood swings and major depression just before the start of my period! Switching back to kariva!

I've been on mircette and kariva without any side effects. now walgreens is filling the prescription with azurette. I've noted bleeding throughout the entire month! irregular periods, and I am very tearful/emotional. I stopped taking this pill and all problems resolved. I do not recommend it!

Like my username says, this is the last pill I will have a crack at before giving up on hormones for good. After one month on the pill, everything seems ok considering. My period showed up by the fourth pill of the last row of the pack, so this pill takes the guesswork out of my usually "here or there" period times. I had no headaches or skin issues. My skin is actually much better than when I was on Yaz. No mood swings outside the ones I usually get during PMS and thank goodness no panic attacks and weird depression like my last pills! So, I can come off Zoloft. No nausea or major side effects I generally see with the other 15 pills, that's right, 15, I've tried. Only negative things to report: 1. heavier period than when I was on Yaz and increased cramping 2. major fatigue which is causing me to skip workouts I used to do while on Yaz and is therefore causing weight gain 3. increased appetite 4. a weird sharp pain on the inside of my inner thigh and the back of my left leg causing me to stir my legs when lying down to keep from a tingly, numb sensation (first two weeks of taking the pill) 5. some pain when having sex like my boyfriend is going too far inside...almost like the weird cramping you get during and after a pap smear. Overall, these side effects are worth continuing the pill at least for now. I will update next month with any further issues.Read More Read Less

I switched from YAZ. My skin has never looked better, but I have had nothing but vivid freaky dreams since I made the switch. No headaches or upset stomach to report.

Severe headaches, 15 pound weight gain, increased appetite in the first month, constantly fatigued, decreased sex drive, terrible mood swings, feelings of depression, & worsened acne. Although, it did make periods much lighter and shorter. Too many side effects to be considered worth it to me. I do not recommend it to anyone.

I was switched to this medication having taken Kariva for the past few years. I had terrible side effects including severe headaches, constant low grade temperature, increase of loss of hair and increased fatigue. In addition, my monthly periods were very spotty and not as regular as when I was taking Kariva or Mircette. I ended up taken myself off this medication.

I have been satisfied with the this birth control as it's effectiveness goes. But my periods are still never on time and I have been taking this for over a year now. Also I wanted to know if anyone else had this problem, I feel that my sex drive is way lower than it was when I stated taking it. I wonder if that is a side effect of this birth control.

Has anyone experienced hair loss while on Azurette. I have a receding hairline. The hair has become so thin you can see my scalp through my hair about 5 to 6 inches. It has become so noticable people have remarked on it. It started about the time I went back on the pill but has gotten worse since Walgreens switched to the Azurette. I am on birth control to prevent migrines.
