Worked great for my urinary flow and output. I felt like I had completely emptied out. Did not do much for the frequency especially during the nighttime. Could not have an orgasm or ejaculate. A real negative especially considering the improvement in urination. Discontinued the drug and going back to the Doctor to see what can be the next step.

I have taken it now for two weeks. The drug improves my flow issue but I have serious ejaculation problems. I am looking for an alternative.

Discount card no good with Medicare - instead of paying $15 a month, it's $69. Going back to Flomax.

This med produced minimal improvement. No ejaculation which was very strange and slightly painful. This seems like bad medicine to me

I've been using Rapaflo for about 6 weeks and find that it does reduce both the urgency and frequency of urination. It is most effective in helping to empty the bladder so I urinate less frequently, although I still get up 2-3 times each night. That is much better than the 7-8 times I have experienced in the past. Dry ejaculation is a problem as I'd been informed.

Sometimes it's hit or miss! I found if I don't take it at the exact time daily I'll have different results.

My sympton: frequent urination from enlarged prostate. I took drug for five days. No improvement in urination issues; however, ability to have erection diminished. Also, dry orgasm (no semen)with no pleasure. Based upon other posts, this is common problem. My doctor never mentioned any of this to me.

In addition to BPH my Urologist tells me I have an enlarged central lobe. Have been on Cardura(Doxasosin) for many years (which is also used to treat high blood pressure)and until recently Avodart which shrinks the Prostate. Didn't like the side effects of the Avodart. Almost complete lack of ejaculate at orgasm AND enlarged breasts. Who needs that?! So my Urologist gives me samples of Rapaflo 8mg, and tells me to quit the other two. Took for 3 days after dinner. Noticed an improvement in urine flow and got up less during the night after only 3 doses, HOWEVER, since the Cardura is also used to lower blood pressure and the Rapaflo is not, my BP went up about 30 points (I take it myself), my ejaculate has completely dissapeared as others have reported and I expected, BUT, the worst side effect is not what I would describe as dizziness because my BP went up not down but I would describe it as a pressure in my head, not pain, and a feeling of lightheadedness/unsteadiness/almost confusion. Worse when I'm standing. I stopped the drug 4 days ago after being on it only 3 and I still feel the effects of it. Will go back on the Cardura even though it doesn't help with the urine flow as well, but don't like the elevated BP without it and the head pressure. Have also tried Flomax in the past but it didn't work for me because of the enlarged central lobe. You know what does help, lifting up my right leg like a dog when I pee(whatever works)! It's because of the lobe interference. I guess it helps to open up the canal from my bladder. I know...too much information! Anyway, did anyone experience similar head issues using Rapaflow as I described? Read More Read Less

Was on Flomax for a few years, but was having problems with dizziness and rapid heart palpitations from it. Doctor switched me to Rapaflo and said it would work better. After the first week I noticed a strange weakness in my left arm and leg, then a tingling of nerves in my leg and foot. Soon after, I started getting muscle pains and muscle spasms in my arms and legs along with a terrible constant stomach ache. Also, no ejaculation whatsoever (at least I had a little with Flomax. Was also experiencing flu-like aches in my joints and both mental and physical fatigue too. I didn't realize that the Rapaflo was doing all this to me and thought I was coming down with some terrible disease. Stopped taking the Rapaflo and within a week most of the side effects have disappeared and I feel so much better. Still having some slight muscle spasms and some lingering joint pain which will hopefully disappear soon. This was a terrible drug for me.Read More Read Less

after 10 days of med, flow improved only very slightly and hasn't made any more progress beyond that ... I experience daily loss of balance, unusual pain in feet and ankles, loss of ejaculate, enlarged scrotum, enlarged testicles, and constant testicular pain. Increased irritability as well. I will say the only positive med has given is I no longer have to get up in middle night to urinate .. Is it worth the side effects? Not to me. The loss of balance caused me to fall 12ft and nearly broke my leg and shoulder.Read More Read Less

Have bee on Rapaflo for about 3 years. The effectiveness of this medication has been outstanding. No more interrupted sleep to urinate knowing the bladder is not comple- tely empty. In fact, my urination is much like when I was in my 20's/40's. Lately, I've been experiencing low blood pressure by meds treating muscle spasms. I was al- ready taking a few other meds with side effects of drowsiness and. I discontinued all except the Rapaflo that I took 2 days later. Took in morning instead of evening as directed, but low and behold, that ex- treme dizziness, fatigue and hot flashes is present. I believe the Rapaflo is a significant contributor of the side effects. I may inquire of lowering dosage, if that's available or just stopping altogether. Read More Read Less

I was the one who went to the ER after 48 hrs with a full bladder. (Read below). After taking Rapaflo for a month, I quit due to side effects. I was completely able to urinate normally after they removed the catheter. The urologist prescribed a 1 year supply at $187/month. I don't know if the accupuncture helped or not, but I am now drug free and saving $2200 per year.
