I have now been on this med. 3+ mos. I have not had any AF what so ever. I think this drug is GREAT! Sometimes I will have some stomach issues, but that's minor. I also take Digoxin, and Toprol Xl. I'm exercising, treadmill, weights, etc. basicly living a normal life. No alcohol or caffeine. I keep updating this site as time passes for the good of others who are in the same boat.

The reason for a one star satisfaction is the weight gain that I have experienced. I have gained 8 to 10 lbs since middle of January, and today is March 1st

I have been on the Multaq a little over 3 months, after trying beta-blockers (Zebeta, sotalol), Cardizem, etc. with limited success with each. Had an ablation in September and episode of a-fib in November when I was put on the Multaq. So far no sustained episodes of a-fib but I continue to have intermittent palpitations and some mild chest pain. The only side effect I have noticed has been mild to moderate fatigue. Also the Multaq seems to hold my heartrate at 80 to 84, significantly above my normal resting heart rate of 68 to 72. While I had hoped to be able to discontinue medications after the ablation, the Multaq seems to be controlling my a-fib better than other medications I have been on. We'll see as time goes on.Read More Read Less

My Dr. put me on Multaq after and angiogram that showed no blockages in my arteries. I have been on Tykison for four years and was having side effects from it. On Multaq I have been very irritable. I also have abdominal pain mostly at night and some nausea. I feel very tired and weak. I have been taking Multaq for four weeks.

I was diagnosed w/afib about 5 months ago and have been taking Multaq for approx 4 months. It is the only drug treatment I have tried. Unfortunately it does not appear to be effective as I have still had afib episodes every 10 days or so. I have had virtually no side effect from the Multaq other than feeling a little tired. Afib episodes appear to be triggerd by excersise, and even minor amounts of alcohol, literally even a few sips.

I cannot take this drug in the amsince it makes me very nausea. I also take Synthroid one hr. before breakfast and Nexium with my first bite of food, After all my food I take the Multaq. Could these other meds be causing this feeling. My Dr. recommends taking Koapectate also.????

I've been taking Multaq (dronedarone) for 2 days and my atrial fibrillation episodes have gotten worse (longer and more frequent). I'm going to have to go back to amiodarone or start taking coumadin again.

Nausea began within two days of beginning Multaq as well as extreme weakness and inability to control emotions (crying at commercials, etc.). A skin inflammation on my thumb has appeared as well.

I had severe nausea initially: first 30 days. I am now into 60 days: Severe fatique, muscle aches so bad at times even my eyes hurt: 'flu-like' symptoms. Unable to sleep more than a few hours a night, depression and SOB. However, my pulmonary veins are scarred from several ablations - so the SOB may be from the ablations. I am having another ablation and pulmonary stents in early January.

I have been on this drug a little over a week. I was taking sotalol which no longer had any effect on my AF. Multaq made me very nauseous every day. And the drug is very expensive! My cost for one month supply is $91. I stopped taking the drug this am. I was not nauseous today but my heart rate has been up to 154 today. Next step...the hospital
