I have now been on this med. 3+ mos. I have not had any AF what so ever. I think this drug is GREAT! Sometimes I will have some stomach issues, but that's minor. I also take Digoxin, and Toprol Xl. I'm exercising, treadmill, weights, etc. basicly living a normal life. No alcohol or caffeine. I keep updating this site as time passes for the good of others who are in the same boat.

I am 65 and have had 3 Heart Failures with AF residual. After Open Heart and other "cures", I finally had to discontinue Multaq as no apparent change in my condition and due to the HIGH cost. I have since substituted Amiodarone for great savings.

Have been taking 8 months for AF. Have developed severe pain in all joints which Dr. dismisses as being side effect.

I am a 62 yr old female diagnosed with afib approx a year ago. I've had multiple cardioversions, but would go back into afib within 2 weeks to 30 days. I've had one ablation & am scheduled for the next one. Started Multaq 7 days ago, and have extreme shortness of breath (8 -10 steps have to stop & catch my breath), facial swelling, legs and feet extremely swollen, loose yellowy colored stools, and muscle weakdness. I would like to get off of this drubg, but don't want to go back into afib either. I tried Tikosyn, but had reactions to that as well as several other drugs that have been tried. I am finding this very scary and upsetting. Read More Read Less

This was a miracle drug for me and stopped my afib immediately. However, I got a bad batch a year ago and was sick the whole time I was taking the pills. Even aftr getting a new bottle, it has beeen better but not to the extent of the first year on Multaq. Pharmacy said they cannot guarantee quality of medications they receive because they go through several suppliers.

I am now on a full dose of Multaq (4oo mg, twice day). It makes me tired and my chest feels strange - hard to explain. Almost feels like I should be getting bronchitis or a chest cold. Ocassionally I cough.

I am 72, I have been taking Multaq for two months and don't see any side effects. I do still have an occasional flutter. One difference was in my stool. Marbles instead of cigars. Sorry, I don't know how else to describe the problem.

Treatment for svt. The side effects are ugly! Been on Multaq for a little over 2 weeks. Very bed stomach pains even with eating. Also leg pains and tired all day! I will try taking this for a while longer, keeping my fingers crossed that these side effects go away!!

I've been in this medication for one week, during which I gained 12 lbs. My calves, ankles and feet are swollen and the skin stretch caused by the swelling itches like crazy. Feeling of tiredness is manageable, but if the weight gain keeps up, I'll have to get off this thing.
