The only thing that could help my pain fr a herniated disk that had displaced the nerve root. It was iv n only lasted abt 2 hrs max but the nurses piggy backed it w norco pill. So my pain was managed pretty well. Dilaudid took my pain away w in 3 min. I will forever be greatful for it. I only needed it 1 time aftr surgery,since the main pain was gone. IV Dilaudid (2mg)was given to me at E.R.'s about four times. Pain relief for me is very minimal with the relief lasting approximately 45 minutes. I become dopey.
