After starting this medication I was told by 2 physicians I had fibromyagia because of the severe pain I was experiencing. I changed BP medication and I am not hurting anymore.

I was dx with Hypertension after I had my son and was put on a birth control. It has worked great for me. But if I skip a dose I really do feel the effects such as tiredness and headache.

After many years and many BP medications I started Hyzaar 100/12.5 over 2 1/2 years ago and have great success in maintaining a healthy BP. If I miss a dose I feel effects of a headache. Agree with others, take early in day due to the diuretic, side effect taking too early makes me drowsy.

I have been on this medication for at least 10 years. Recently had to change dosage from (1) 50/12.5 per day to (2) per day. One in AM and one in PM. Working a whole lot better. It is now generic. It does eat up your potassium which causes leg weakness but taking potassium supplements 3 times a day removes that for me. Low potassium is the cause of many of the referenced symptoms - try potassium. Let your doctor know what you are taking. Start with 1 per day and if you need more do so. Have your blood checked now for potassium levels it just might be the cause of your symptoms and not the med's alone. I took 100/12.5 for a few weeks and my leg weakness got really bad as well as not being clear headed. My blood was checked and sure enough my potassium was down below recommended levels. I increase potassium and it helped. My doctor took me off that dosage and put be on 50/12.5 twice a day. He also said that the medication is only in your system for about 12 hours so taking 2 per day is working great for me. Also still taking 3 potassium supplements (OTC) per day. I use Nature Made brand 550mg. As long as I keep that up I feel just fine and blood pressure is great. Talk to your doctor about potassium.Read More Read Less

It seems to work for me. I have experience some stuffy nose but that is nothing that I can't deal with. I have had Open Heart Surgery w/ a single bypass at age 32. This medication certainly helps keep my BP in check.

THIS drug seems to work when no other would for me. Since it is a drug that combines two products you would think taking the two of them by themselves would work, but it didn't. I would like a gen one someday as they are extremely expensive.

This medicine has worked great for me for years now.

I've been taking this about 3 months now. Time to reill and cost has risen from 40's to $90's guess I'' have tp try the generaic, which I hote they never work the same as the original. It's a shame that they are making these medicines so expensive. With this I've found it has kept my BP lowered. I do have hedaches that may last a couple of days. If I have a cocktail or beer.Otherwise I've been pretty satisfied with this medicine. Although I may have to change because of the cost. It's a heck of a lot better than Lisoniopril, which caused tingling and numbness in my hands fingers and joint, also nosebleeds. Read More Read Less

I have taken Hyzaar for over 10 years. I needed my dosage increased three years ago and it was working well. Recently I was switched to the generic version and now my pressure seems to fluctate especially in the morning when I get up. Love the generic pricing but not sure if I will continue on it if it can't keep my pressure under control.

Works for me over 12 years now- generic version just came out which makes it even less expensive- you cant go wrong

started taking Hyzaar yesterday and have experienced extreme hip pain since then. I have RA and have had joint pain with several other ace inhibitors. Was on Atacand for 5 years with no problem, new insurance coverage and they won't cover the cost of Atacand.....BP is a battle, but the joint pain is worse. Done with this one!
