I'm a Combat Veteran suffering from chronic severe pain. Since my injuries my life has gone on a down spiral. After researching and discovering this drug I had suggested it to my Doctor. He has started me on Extended Releases. This by far, as been the most effective medicine in my battle with chronic pain. It has been years since I've felt this good. Except for a few days of stomach pain whe...

med does not work for the pain,it takes three hours to even feel the pain to subside, very dizzy , can hardly stand, this is in the same category as opana er,wondering if they are trying to kill of the people with pain, instead of helping. the dr don't seem to care anymore what the patient says - just hang in there, it will eventually work.Even if they know what worked before, they do not care-ge...

I was terrified to take this drug. All it talks about is how it can kill you and you'll turn into an addict. My pain Dr. Was very persistent and we went through my panic attack. It is extremely hard to find, so if this is new to you it can take up to a week to get it. It worked the first time for only 30 minutes, it took longer to work. When it did finally work, I forgot I ever had pain issues. It was like nothing was wrong ever. Then my stomach erupted with gas and pain and I couldn't expel gas. I found the next day it is a separate issue. IBS-C. So, I took it again at 12 hours and aside from the gas pain this is an amazing drug. *****Adult content**** I started it Thursday afternoon and was able to have actual interactive sex by Saturday morning.**** I hadn't had that in forever. I am very happy with this medicine and am thankful to my pain doctor for staying strong. Sometimes in the evening a break-through drug is required. Only sometimes. I will update in a month when I really really know.Read More Read Less

Initially caused headaches; I struggled to take it twice a day as ordered for my chronic lower back and neck pain (epidural lipomatis, disc degeneration, and was born with an extra disc in my lumbar spine). I'm trying to not to have surgery right now, so am on narcotics. Anyway, the headache went away after about 3 weeks, but my the rest of my body hurts SO BAD now!!! I have been getting trigger point massages to try and get some pain relief (I now have big muscle "knots" on my thighs, hips, shoulders, neck, jaw, even my forehead, and chin). My right and left flank have also stiffened up and you can feel some little musclular "knots" along my lowest ribs. I told my pain providers this and he thinks it's because my dose wasn't high enough, so he increased it from 2x day to 3x day and I agreed to try it for one month (into my 2nd week now). I really feel like my muscles are getting even tighter and it is not helping my deeper/original pain issues. This medication is not for me! No nausea/vomiting but no pain relief whatsoever.Read More Read Less

300 mg daily. Was prescribed this from my doctor about a month ago for my severe bi lateral foot pain. I have multiple torn tendons and need surgery on both feet to fix the problem. I get very little pain relief at this dosage. After an hour of walking or standing I am in severe pain and must lay down and apply ice. I was hopeful that these would help me sleep more than 3-4 hours a night without waking up with pain, but no such luck. I have read mixed reviews about this drug, it works great for some and does little for others. I fall in the later category.Read More Read Less

This is the WORSE PAIN MEDICINE I have ever taken. It did nothingfor my pain. It made me dizzy, nauseous, I couldn't breath. It made me sick. It was horrible & my son had the same reaction. I have chronic pain & thought it may just be reacting to the other meds I'm on so my son took one for his back pain& had the same symptoms as me. They were 50 mg tablets.

I had been using this med for 2 yrs, was satisfied with it, however insurance will no longer cover Nucynta. Dr prescribed another med, a lower dose and less medication, also referring to pain management. All because my insurance will not cover a medication that was working fine for me.

I have been on pain meds off and on for a few years now. After several surgeries and still living in constant daily pelvic pain this has been the best pain med I have found that you can take and still feel normal. (Before this I was prescribed Hydrocodone and then Percocet) It does what it says it will do. It helps with the pain without the high, dizzy and nauseated feelings that usually accompany the other pain meds I have taken in the past. I have 4 kids to raise and am usually having to drive around a lot with kids in the car. Percocet would not work for me and allow me to still give my kids 100% of myself. You don't realize how much this pain treatment works until you stop taking them and the pain comes back. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a strong pain med that you can still function and feel normal on. My only suggestion is to take it as prescribed and do not run out before refilling your script. I had to order mine from the pharmacy because they did not have it in stock and it took 2.5 days before I could pick it up and I was already out. Not a great feeling when you run out. The pain was horrible and I felt exhausted and miserable.Read More Read Less

to Jackie who wrote below. the e.r. works fantastic. i have so many disabilities and this is the best medication by far. even better than morphine. I can actually walk again. would advise taking it with a full glass of water or other beverage that will help get it in your system faster. one set back, without the coupon from my doctor it would have been 427.93 i got it for 55.00 so be sure to ask your doc for the coupon and find a mom and pop pharmacy, the big ones charge even more... I pray everyone of us gets healed. amen to that Read More Read Less

Taking the extended release version helps to control the pain throughout the day without having to worry about taking pills after the pain starts increasing. I don't feel weird or very tired on this medicine.

I've been on almost every long-acting painkiller on the market and this is one of the best ones I've been on. It's worked well at the same dose for years, unlike almost every med I've been on. The side effects are also not nearly as bad as others. Overall, a good one to try, but be forewarned, insurance companies don't like paying for it and will frequently deny coverage for it, so be prepared for a fight.

I have been diagnosed with undifferentiated spondyloarthropathy, which is a form of spondylitis. The result is chronic pain that must be managed. I have tried other pain management medications, including a fentanyl. The fentanyl patch almost killed me when combined with another medication I was taking (it's a long story, but suffice it to say that my 16 year old son found me just as I was breathing my last and turning blue. He performed CPR on me until the paramedics arrived and used the paddles to restart my heart, my son, my hero, saved my life.). After coming so close to death I told my doctor that I would never go with anything as strong as fentanyl patch again. My pain management specialist decided to go with Nucynta ER (extended release) for pain maintenance and Nucynta for break through pain. This medication has been my salvation. Most people with spondylitis of any kind end up going on disability, with this medication I hold down a full time job and actually thrive. I am lucky to have a job that allows me to work from home. For someone living with chronic pain I strongly recommend giving this medication a try.Read More Read Less

My mother only takes this at night (200mg) but for the most part is sleeping though the night for the first time in a long, long time. She still takes Oxycodone 10mg x 4 through out the day. But I have to say as her caregiver I am relieved to have something that lasts through the night.

The Extended Release formula of this drug is not all effective for me after 4.5 to 6 hours. After taking it for two weeks I am not impressed at all and at 100 mg. I still need Norco along side it. I have been on Tramadol for many years but with diminishing effectiveness so I understand trying another drug but this is ridiculous. Before this change came along, I actually had a few "good" days once in a while but these last two weeks have been awful. My pain doc says it's supposed to be three-times as strong as Tramadol but I sure don't see it. As it stands, I will run out of my Norco before my next appointment and am having problems getting a response from the pain doc's office.Read More Read Less

I have chronic pain from 2 crushed ankles 17 years ago. This is the first time I have felt relief. I take 2 percocets a day for breakthrough pain, down from 4 a day. I haven't experienced any side effects and am going on week 2 of taking it.
