I'm a Combat Veteran suffering from chronic severe pain. Since my injuries my life has gone on a down spiral. After researching and discovering this drug I had suggested it to my Doctor. He has started me on Extended Releases. This by far, as been the most effective medicine in my battle with chronic pain. It has been years since I've felt this good. Except for a few days of stomach pain whe...

med does not work for the pain,it takes three hours to even feel the pain to subside, very dizzy , can hardly stand, this is in the same category as opana er,wondering if they are trying to kill of the people with pain, instead of helping. the dr don't seem to care anymore what the patient says - just hang in there, it will eventually work.Even if they know what worked before, they do not care-ge...

I have chronic pain in my back. I have had C3,4 and 5 fused as well as L3,4 and 5 fused. I have been on pain meds since 2004. I have gone from taking five to six 10mg Percocets a day to 2 and I may not need those. It took a week for the Nucynta ER 100mg to kick in and work. I do have side effects of sweating like a pig and I don't think I'm breathing as deeply as I had been(which is not a good side effect, so I going to have to go off this med). But it is working pretty well for the pain but the rest of the little things may not be worth the risk. Headache, ringing in my ears, diareaha, shallow breathing, profuse sweating are the current side effects. Will have been on the med for a month before seeing the Doc again. I don't like sweating so much, and I'm going to see about something else that might work as well without the side effects.Read More Read Less

I am on month four. Dose has been 100 then 150 then 200 and now at 250. Finally getting some relief. Lasts only about 8 hours and only side effect.has been headaches but can knock those out with imitrex. I am not sure what the max dose is. Of you havent gotten relief when starting dont give up. my.second month I started feeling relief for about 4 hours. Dr says be patient which is hard to.do when in pain. My Dr let me supplement during this time with vicodin. My vicodin intake was 2 to 3 pills a day and now I am only taking half a pill a day. I am still hopeful but it has been a rough road doing this step program to find what dosage works. And so not intake alcohol as it definitely makes me short of breath and severe migranesRead More Read Less

*UPDATE* from the review just under this one. Saw the Dr. And he switched me to 200 mg and that seems to be working. I was supplementing with Percocet, but so far I have only need it twice in the last three days! Hope to take even less as we see more progress.

Broke the C7 vertebrae in two spots in a car wreck and also have massive nerve damage. Was on Percocet 10 for months, then Doctor decided to switch the meds to Nucynta ER 100mg X2/day. NO relief. Will be talking about either a new med or increasing the dosage on this one. I still have to supplement with Perocet every 4 hours with Robaxin, plus use a lidocaine patch on the lower neck daily. I have 4 grand kids we watch frequently and I don't think I will ever be cured- I just want to play with them and maybe go biking, fishing and golfing once in a while again... someday.Read More Read Less

I have had bursitis in my hips.I've been on this nucynta ER 200 mg for 1 month and I have no pain in my hips. Do have nausea which is being off set with phenergan. Do not feel high/drunk at all. I'm able to function pain free. Hope it continues to be effective.

I was in a bad car accident that hurt my head and neck which caused me to have migraines and seizures. I have been on Percocets for the pain since the accident which have helped the pain. My doctor retired and I had to see a pain mngmt doctor. This doc decided to mess with my meds and put me on something different. First he put me on Opana which I was allergic too, then Methadone, which I would not take, then Exalgo which I was also allergic too, now he is placing me on Nucynta ER. Why mess with my medicine when what I was on was working to begin with? I just don't understand it? Everything he has put me on has either caused an allergic reaction, or thrown me into an unnecessary seizure. Doc, just please put me back on the meds I was on.Read More Read Less

I have suffered with chronic pain/muscle spasms for 10 yrs. The past 3 mths have been a godsend to me. But after having a horrible migraine and taking migraine meds, Nucynta stopped working the 12 hrs as it had previously. I began having spasms again, agitated, distraught and I don't understand why all of the sudden something that had previously worked, stopped. I don't want more drugs, I want answers to why I am in pain. I don't want to feel drugged up, but I can't function like this. I am 50, married, have great kids and grand children. I want to enjoy life! Not be a vegetable ~ if this is the way my life is going to play out, take me now as right now i feel like i am living in hell~Read More Read Less

Nucynta ER does not last 12 hours like it is supposed to. Doctor's need to learn more about the drugs they prescribe before prescribing them. I'm still in pain, unfortunately.

I have had a 2 level lumbar fusion and have had ongoing back pain. I had been on Kadian 60 mg qd until drug manufacturer stopped financial assistance program. I had been on Kadian for approx 5 years with max dose of 220 mg split into 2 doses. I also take MSIR 15 mg prn for breakthrough. I was switched to Nucyenta ER 100 mg twice a day with 15 mg MSIR for breakthrough. I have been on it for 3 weeks now and can't wait until I am approved for something else. I did not have any feeling of being over medicated. My primary complaint is that it does not last long enough and I end up feeling like I am going into withdrawal about 2 hours before next dose which last 1 1/2 to 2 hours after I take dose. Stuffy, diarrhea, sweaty, clammy feeling, anxious and very restless with periods of restless leg syndrome. I have 2 small grandchildren who I often care for and have felt that I could not take care of them due to these withdrawal symptoms. Called my pain specialist and was told I couldn't be experiencing withdrawal because the dose I was on was more than enough--equivalent to higher dose of Kadian. They are not getting it--it doesn't last long enough. It makes me very angry that doctors refuse to listen to patients who have a proven record of trustworthiness. This is a new drug with no equivalents set. How can they KNOW?? I will be trying Opana Er as soon as I get approval. In the past I have tried MS Contin --did not cover pain as well as Kadian and did not last 12 hrs, Methadone which I hated it made me feel very anxious and didn't do much for the pain and fentanyl patches for breakthrough after surgeries--kept falling off and didn't seem to provide much relief. I would really like to hear from anyone else who has experienced symptoms of withdrawal. Read More Read Less

I was put on this new "wonder drug" 4 months ago being told that it was going to replace Lortab 7.5. I started out on 50mg and it took away some of my pain. After 1 month I was put on 150mg it didnt do any better with the pain but made me feel "drunk" all the time. After a month of that the Dr put me on 200mg and I have tried and tried to take it but with small kids at home I cant. I am unable to take care of myself when taking it and definitly not them. I have started realizing that when I take it I have BAD lower back pain, like kidney pain. I have also started having migrains. It has stopped working at all relieving pain. I have become very agitated and have panic attacks more often when taking it. I just want to sleep 24/7. I have told my Dr that I am having all these side effects and he says "oh it takes a while to get used to it" BullS**t ! It may be perscribed but I wont take any more of it ! I am going to tell the Dr again this month I do not want this "wonder drug" of his !Read More Read Less

I am 36 and have been on meds since i was completely run over by a car at 15. Finally my insurance approved Nucynta ER 100mg, and i was so hopeful, imagine waking up without pain!! but i have had constant pain since i started taking this, and really am not sure if it is doing anything. i have had to take nycynta 50 mg at least 2x a day (if i wasnt fearful of OD i would take more) i am depressed now, tis better to have never had hope than to have had hope and lost it. Is anyone taking a greater dose of this with results? i am glad it is not just me having no results with this.Read More Read Less
