I started taking this pill when i was 17, and have been on it for 4 years. I remember before the pill my periods were very painful, and usually lasted about 9 days. The entire time on this pill my periods have been very normal and predictable, much shorter and less painful. I am about to start tri linyah, after talking to my doctor about the acne i've been excperiencing for the past 6 months to a ...

I'm not prego, I guess that is a benefit. Other than that, I have been on it for less than 2 months and have had anxiety attacks and mind you I am not one to have them EVER. I have been beyond fatigued and NO motivation at all. Chest pains, swelling of the ankles and higher blood pressure. I stopped them 2 days ago and still experiencing the anxiety.

Significantly fewer side effects than with other birth control pills. Keeps my periods light and helps regulate mood swings.

I am on birth control for acne, and had been on Aviane for over a year with no problems. Then my pharmacy switched me to this one which seemed fine at first. Since starting it, I've had a couple months with TERRIBLE break outs (that I haven't had since starting the Aviane and some other meds from the dermatologist). And had some months with spotting. Both the breakouts and the spotting are to the point that I keep checking the package to make sure I didn't accidentally forget to take a pill or skip a dose or something. I have a checkup with my doctor next month and will definitely be asking to switch back to the Aviane.Read More Read Less

While this is effective at preventing pregnancy, I was disappointed to find that after my pharmacy switched me from Aviane to Falmina, I had more acne than when I was on Aviane. I did two tests where I was on Falmina for a month and compared that to not being on birth control and being on Aviane and it was noticeable--not only did I break out on my face when I was on Falmina, I also broke out on my back and arms, areas that I usually never break out. I called several pharmacies around me and found that Walgreens still carries Aviane as their generic birth control drug so I switched my prescription over to them.Read More Read Less

I've taken other generic birth control with no problems. Previously, i was taking Aviene or something and my Rite Aid switched to this. For the last three months, I have been feeling really fatigued and my depression symptoms have really been acting up. I've been getting spotting three months in a row which has never happened before. I also have noticed that I have a really increased appetite. This just doesn't work for me at all.

Falmina is horrible. I started taking it after coming off of the mini pill (safe pill to take while breastfeeding). I had never taken Falmina before. As soon as I started to take it I would feel bloated all the time. I would get nauseous and light headed. I started spotting and it lasted 4 months. Called my OB and they said t was normal with this pill to give it a few more months. Really?? Spotting stopped but the bloating is still here. I've gain a lot of weight I'm 2 sizes larger than normal. I've never been someone to gain weight I'm 4'11 and 85 lbs. the most weight I've been is 95 pre pregnancy and while on the pill (different one). I've had two kids and was pill free for over 2 years between my pregnancies and 85 remained my weight even after my last child and while on the mini pill. And then out of no where rapid gain weight when I started to take Falmina. Also if I forget to take the pill at the exact time I have spotting whithin one or two days. And I mean if I miss by a couple of hours!!! I don't know why I've waited this long to get switched to something else. I always worry about the effectiveness of this pill compared to others (even tho I haven't gotten pregnant). Over all I'm very disappointed about this pill. Read More Read Less

I was also switched from Aviane to Falimina randomly at the pharmacy. I have been taking it for 3 months now and have called my doctor to switch back to Aviane. I have gained 10 pounds in the 3 months and feel bloated all the time I work out 4 times a week aggressively and eat well. I recommend sticking with Aviane if you were switched or are thinking about switching. I'm hoping my insurance makes the change for me back to Aviane ASAP.

I was switched to Falmina to help with acne and to start having periods every tenth week. I love it. I have had no spotting and short periods when I do have them. It also helps with acne a little bit. Plus, I'm not pregnant!

I'm extremely satisfied with this birth control. After coming off a horrible experience with Junel, I was skeptical but it has been great. Minimal breakouts (only scars left over from Junel), anxiety has gotten way better, and I am not pregnant (most important!)

Unlike several other users, I really like the Falmina birth control. I have not experienced any adverse side effects, and have found it comparable to Aviane. Little to no weight gain, and much much better than the Microgestin FE, which I have also taken.

I was given Falmina as a substitute for my normal Aviane. Since I began taking it I have suffered from stomach pain, weight gain, appetite changes, and severe migraines. I gained 15+ pounds from taking this even when I was still doing 70 sit-ups and walking 1 mile a day. Do not take this product.

Since the first week of starting this I have had severe pain in my belly and lower back. It hasn't gone away or gotten better. My pill is changed around a lot. This has happened before with certain pills, but this one is the worst.

I started this medication after my pharmacy substituted this for Aviane. Since day one of starting i have experienced severe migraine headaches, dark urine, and chest pain/pressure. After one week i have to decided to go back to Aviane and just pay extra at another pharmacy. Falmina was the WORST!!! I"ve felt sick to to stomach and very Nauseous. DO NOT TAKE!! You"ve been warned..
