I was switched to Levonest because it was a generic of my pervious generic. The pharmacist told me it was the same, just a little cheaper. I was switched to Levonest because it was a generic of my pervious generic. The pharmacist told me it was the same, just a little cheaper. The first 2 months were fine, but then come month 3-6 I started experience bleeding between periods and irregular periods. I have been on birth control for almost 10 years and have never had these issues before, even prior to being on birth control my periods were very regular. I started having mood swing, I was becoming lathargic, I was depresseded, and my attitude was changing. I started experiencing a lot of nausea. Sex was becoming very painful. I saw my gyno and she said it could be due my birth since it is a generic of a generic. After 6 months I decided to get off of the pills. It's been about 2 months since I stopped taking it and my mood has improved, I haven't had any pain during sex, and my period is getting back to normal.
