I am 38 diagnosed with RA when I was 28. I have 2 fake knees and a fake left hip. I've taken Prednisone, Enbrel, Remicade, Humeria, and I'm currently taking MTX and Xeljanz. Sorry for any wrong spelling. The Xeljanz really does help manage the pain and leave only minimal swelling in a couple joints in my hands and wrists. My problem like others have mentioned is significant weight gain. It bother...

I am here to tell people that in my opinion Xeljanz was the contributing factor in my wife's death after taking the drug for about three months. I believe the drug compromised her immune system which blocked the ability for her body to fight off Encephalitis. Encephalitis is VERY rare. Xeljanz did reduce the swelling in her hands but she paid the supreme price for it. My wife had RA for about thir...

Very bad side effects - nausea, dizzy. Very little impact if any on swelling and pain. More tired than ever. I am very dissappointed as I so wanted this to work. I travel frequently overseas for business and the injectable are a real hassle for this. I see my dr next week and am going to as to go back to simponi which did not work as well as humira, but better than xeljanz.

I have been using this for about three weeks. During week two, I felt better than I have felt in years. I have been using a wheelchair to go any substantial distance, but I had the energy and the motivation to try to walk distances that I hadn't tried in a long time. I felt less pain overall. The third week, the results were less impressive but still good. I will be looking forward to seeing how the xeljanz will continue to work in the future. I am hopeful to get some relief since I have severe RA for ten years already. I had to go on disability because I lost the capacity to function in my job because of my mobility issues.Read More Read Less

I was only on xeljanz for three weeks when I started having severe stomach pains, similar to a VERY BAD case of heartburn. None of the drugs used for acid reflux worked. I stopped the xeljanz per my doctor and the stomach pain has stopped. I did not see a big difference in how I felt with the drug, but it may have been because I was only on it for a short time. For me, It is not worth the stomach pain.

Took this med for a month and it worked great. After a month I started with a "viral throat" which was very painful. Went on ati-virals and tried half a dose with same side effects. Tried one more time taking it every other day...same results. Meds worked great, but could not handle side effects.

I broke out in a rash and my stools were clay-color after taking this medication. My stomach was also hurting a lot.
