With Dexedrine, I am taking a med I self-medicated in the '60s! In 9th grade in '62, I could not stay awake in the AM. My Mom's best friend was a drug salesman and she got Dexamyl for weight. I snitched a few dex 15 mg spansule there and at my corner drugstore job. From teacher and parents, I got the usual "lazy, no motivation". Scorn from father who laughed that I would be lawyer. But on Dex, I w...

My doctor told me that I have OSA (Obstructed Sleep Apnea) and I already use a CPAP. However, I was falling asleep at work and on way home and even on way to work while driving. Since I've been using this drug for approx. 5 weeks, it has been wonderful! I am not only staying awake at work and on the road, but I am able to do more at work and my focus is MUCH better in meetings and otherwise. I couldn't be more happy, so far, I hope it doesn't cause any long-term issues. And even better; on the weekends, I'm more active with my daughters. This drug has fixed a problem I've had for a very long time.Read More Read Less

increased weighted gain, non-existent metabolic increase, negative pupil enlargement, red eyes, lethargy, drastically reduced self esteem, 140% difference each 24 hours, loss of self respect from coworkers and friends due to public stereotyping of a patient being treated with what was pure speed (before the 'outdated fillers, not expired, there is a difference' added to neutilize the EC50% added to it), and the wrong IUPAC name it is dispensed as, dextroamphetamine sulfate; It is legally named bis-dextroamphetamine sulfate. There are two (2) R+,S+ amphetamine stereo isomers for each molecule of H2SO4; 2:1 ratio with H2SO4; 1:1 ratio if HCl were used rather than H2SO4, subsequently changing the legal name. When my N.P. M.H.P. was asked about a medicine with a similar molecular structure and special orientation and rotation to precisely work at the receptor sites baring outside influence of competing, antagonistic, or neutralization of molecular landing sites flat out lacked practical knowledge again siting weight gain in another patient; Whereas harming that veteran patient too with obesity, and all the negative that go with it in the face of public statics. It works wonders for my concentration, but usually after the meds have stopped working, a huge crash happens that makes me paranoid, nauseous and generally uncomfortable.

After countless hours of researching what medicine's are used to treat my disorder, what people are saying and doing with them,I now know why there are so many restrictions and regulations of these medicine's.Dexedrine(Dextroamphetamine)has changed my life for the better. After documenting not only what these chemicals were,And the history of their use's for medicinal purposes, and countless trials, errors, and issues with other medicine's.I decided that maybe this medicine could work to help the symptoms of my disorder.I read, and heard what people do with their medicine's,I now have a better understanding of why they are federally regulated, and only prescribed in certain places, by certain doctors.Unfortunately,as humans, some of us lack control, knowledge, and will power to make positive decisions with any chemical they come across.Extensive research has given me an idea what people who abuse these medicines are doing with them.Personally, I feel If you are going to induce any foreign chemical to your body, then you might want to have an idea of,not only what it is, but how it reacts to the "human body", and how it might react to your body, and whether not it is a "positive influence" or a "negative influence",that could either harm or help your body, in a medicinal, healthy way that could change your life.I choose to educate myself, use medicine's the way they are intended, and be an advocate for people who really want to learn to manage their disorder.Documenting your results, info on your disorder, and the medicines people use, and how they affected them, would be a great start. If you learn about your family history, and their disorders, and or ailments, could make your experience a lot smoother, and be a positive one at that.I will never support the abuse of medicine's, or someone who intend's on abusing it.Get the benefits if absolutely necessary, but be mature and wise about what your taking and how to manage it to help you. PROMOTE PROPER USAGE,AND HEALTHY DECISIONS.Read More Read Less

I was put on this medication 4 months ago for my ADHD and I absolutely loved it. It does work great for concentration and also helped me with my depression. I stayed focused and had more energy which I loved. I'm sad to say that I have to come off of this because I am having headaches every single day all day long and my face is twitching which is making me very uncomfortable. If I wasn't experience both of those symptoms, I would definitely stay on this medication.

I have very mild asperger's syndrome and have been taking Dextro for well over 12 years. I used to never be in control of my actions and I was always waaaaaaay to hyper to take anything serious. Now that I take it, I have become focused and able to achieve the goals that I have set for myself and get to college, something my doctor said I would never be able to do. The only downside that I have from Dextro is that it makes me somewhat introverted and it takes me a while to open up to people, but the side effect has slowly decreased. I would HIGHLY recommend this drug for those with asperger's and those with ADHD (similar to my asperger's symptoms.) The medicine is not expensive and it REALLY works. Read More Read Less

I have tried adderall and aderall xr, both caused irritability and daily headaches. Switched to Dextro and it has worked very well for my ADD.

This drug helps me more with depression than any of the anti-depressants I have been prescribed. It also makes the ADHD pretty much non-existant. One side effect that I like is it severely increases libido! Some of the other meds im on make it hard to get in the mood, but when I take my dextro, im soooo ready. :)

I am a college student and have been taking this medication for about 9 months now. I find it very helpful when it comes time to write papers and study. It also helps on a daily basis with paying attention in lectures and not spacing off.

I am 32 M. I have also been an addict since I was in my early teen's. Alcohol/weed/LSD/XtC/and on and on..... I graduated into Harder drugs. Opiates Eg.Heroin, oxycontin,Morphine. But stimulant drugs have been my #1 worst of all my addictions.I Have been a Hardcore cocaine/Crack addict now for 15years. I was Diagnosed with ADD at the age of 8. I was put on many alternatives with no help until trying Ritalin. Ritalin (XR) helped with many symptoms and behaviour issues. But within two years began to fail because of my tolerance. & again back to old behaviours. I lived in small town southern Ontario Growing up.Even though my family life was fairly normal with 2 sisters & both loving parents. My life was a wreck. In and out of jail. I flopped out of school and into drugs. By 25 I was in Jail for two counts of robbery because of a crack addiction. I ended up in North America's worst place for any person with drug addiction to Move to. Vancouver's notorious (DTES) Downtown East Side. The point to this is now I have been almost 3 years off Crack/coke. And it's because that 3 years ago I went on Dexedrine and was able to get my life back with therapy and medication so for me it saved my life. It does have addictive properties but when on the right dose it can be very affective. After reaching a dose both My doctor and I were both comfortable with. As tolerance is concerned it has not become a problem. I've been on the same dose for all that time. Read More Read Less

I take only 5mg per day and it allows me to interact with people in a much more normal way than my typical reactions. I am friendlier, more polite, kinder, etc. More of the positive attributes associated with a "nice" person. I'm not keen on having to look for another medication, though I might have to due to having Dextro taken off druggist shelves.
