My atrophy was so bad that I couldn't sit comfortably. Premarin cream did nothing. Osphena is a miracle for me. But Medicare won't cover it! It's made for Senior women so it's foolish that Medicare doesn't cover it. Medicare covers Viagra! Are Senior men supposed to have sex with 30 year old women?

I chose a new GYN Dr. due to the fact that I felt I was not getting the help I was asking for based on extremely painful intercourse. My new Dr. put me on Osphena, and after being on it for 10 days, I realized that I was having extreme anxiety, but I did not relate it to this medication. I suffer from severe depression, and I just thought it had been a really tough year in ALL aspects of my life. ...

WAS DOING OK BUT STARTED HAVING NECK PAIN ISSUES. I KNOW THERE IS A MUCULARSKELETAL SPASM SIDE EFFECT TO OSPEHNA. COULD THIS NECK PAIN BE FROM OSPHENA? ANYONE ELSE HAVING ANY ISSUES LIKE I AM?

I have been taking this medication for almost a month now. It has taken care of the extreme dryness I was experiencing and I just feel normal again. Happy with the results so far. The co-pay for this medication is very expensive!

Number 1 the packaging makes is nearly impossible to get the pill out. Number 2 the muscle spasms are horrible, Number 3 the hot flashes are horrible, Number 4 the inability to sleep is not tolerable, Number 5 the discharge is awful, and the mood swings are impossible. I took the drug for 8 weeks, needless to say I have stopped. The side effects far outweigh the benefit.

Has worked as I hoped. No more extreme dryness. No other side effects. All in all, I am very pleased. I would of given ease of use a higher rating but the packaging is ridiculous. What could they of been thinking?

I have not been taking it for a full month yet, so it is too early to see benefits. I just wanted to say the packaging is horribly difficult to open. I have to get out sizzors to open each blister pack. can't you make it easier to open???

This medication has worked great for me in helping control symptoms of frequent bladder infections. The Dr. told me is was due to dryness. I agree with other reviews, the packaging is a nightmare! please put in a bottle! I am also experiencing the mini hot flashes side effects at night. They are not fun!

No more burning and dryness. I think it also improved my wrinkles on my face.I will continue to take this everyday. I printed the discount card to help with copay.

The medication works great, but is expensive and my insurance does not cover it.

I haven't been on the meds long enough to find out if it will be effective. PLEASE put the pills in a bottle! I have to cut off the side of the packaging and take out the blister pack to be able get the pills out, and then I have a blister pack with nothing to indicate what it is. In addition, the flat packaging makes it very easy to throw away in the pharmacy bag.

Works as hoped. I dreaded intercourse! We both used every lubricant known to man (including estring and estrogen cream) with no good results. My only side effect is mini hot flashes/sweating. Totally agree about the packaging! Maybe the company could continue to kill some more trees and include a pick axe to open the blister pack!

I have been on the treatment for 6 weeks. I no longer have frequent/burning urgency to urinate. Leg cramps- I had them prior- on requip. no other side effects. I decided to start taking it when I went back into the dating field. I just met someone I want to be intimate with. the increased interest is a plus. I had thought I had lost that feeling. Seeing my Dr next month as he wants to see how I'm doing and may put me on progesterone. If you go to the osphena web site, there is a savings card you can print out that will work with insurance- mine only paid about half. Read More Read Less

The medication has not worked as I hoped it would, intercourse is still painful. In addition I have vaginal discharge, have started to have hot flashes again (those went away 4 yrs ago)and have horrible leg and foot cramps along the top of my foot and shin area. The pills are hard to pop out of the package. I am not impressed with this solution and have quit taking the pills.

I agree with other posts that the packaging for this product is is ridiculously hard to manage. I have to cut the darned thing apart to be able to get the pills out, and even that is difficult because of arthritis. Why can't they just put it in a bottle like other pills? Maybe then they could lower the price without all that stupid packaging. Other than that, I'm satisfied with the results. I've been on it for almost 3 months and have noticed steady improvement in my symptoms.

I am getting ready to start my second month of Osphena and I am delighted with this medication. It was a little scary the first time I attempted intercourse because of the pain I had previously experienced. There was increased moisture and still a little pain but nothing what I had experienced before the medication. I expect this to improved even more as I continue to use the medication. I have had an increase in libido as well. As far as side effects I've not noticed any at all. I had increased sweating before the medication due to a thyroid condition but the sweating is no worse than before taking the medication. Drawbacks are the blister pack is ridiculously hard to open. My goodness this medication is prescribed to older women not bodybuilders. I need an easier way to get to the medication. Cost is not covered by insurance which is very unfair to women. Thankfully my physician gave me a discount card that is good for the first 3 months and saves me half the cost. This medication is one that I've been waiting for. My marriage was becoming sexless and I felt very bad for my husband because it was something I could not do anything about. I was clenching my teeth when I tried to have sex because of the pain. I'm so thankful to have this medication. It has given me back a part of my life that I was longing for.Read More Read Less

Once I got over the fact that I'd have to take yet another pill every day, I was looking forward to the promise of a vibrant sex life. I was mistaken and highly disappointed! All that happened was an increase in my hot flashes, massive sweating even in the coldest winter in years, and having to change my panties multiple times during the day from the excessive discharge.

13 years post menopause ( since 43 years old ) with no HRT. Finally, intercourse is not painful and no need for lubrication. Increased libido too. It has changed my life.

This has helped so much with painful sex. The pills come in a ridiculous push out sleeve, I ripped it apart and put it in a marked bottle as I could not stand fighting with it. I am having terrible periods of sweating! And night sweats. I think during the day it's gotten better, the night sweats are annoying. I'm willing to try it 2 more months to see if body will adjust.

This drug is NOT covered by Medicare--not one program covers it! At about $200 per month it will not be my solution to my problem for long. Viagra is covered for men why not Osphena for women!!

After about a month, the drug had a dramatic positive effect on state of vulvar tissue fragility (which previously was very thin, easily cracked/chapped, and hurt for days after any injury - AKA sex). The general presence of moisture and ability to lubricate with arousal was a big change. Persistent/uncomfortable itch reduced. Leg cramps and hot flushes were a bit worse, but the improvements seem to me to be well were worth these inconvenient side effects. The positives have continued over 3 months now, while leg cramps are less frequent and hot flushes are back to about baseline frequency. Read More Read Less
