I have been on Belviq for five weeks and have lost 11 lbs. I am taking 2 pills a day. Side effects at first were sleepiness, feeling cold all the time and some muscle weakness. Now I just have dry mouth and i have a hard time getting started in the morning which is unusual for me. I just had bloodwork done and cholosterol is finally in normal range and all other results were excellent. All cravin...

I've tried several different weight loss medications. My doctor recommended this because she thought it would be a good fit. Described it as appetite suppressant. Didn't do a thing!!! Did the 15 day trial then paid over $150 including the $75 off coupon. I'm going back to Phentermine. Belviq is worthless. Don't waste your money on this or Qysimia. It's also worthless and extremely expensive. And n...

I started this on 11/9/15 weighing in at 231 and have not lost a pound. I actually gained 4 lbs in the first week. I have gone back to my starting weight but nothing below that. I did not have any side effects, and I still feel like I can eat whenever. Really bummed because I tried phentermine, contrive, and now this and lost nothing with any of them. Blood work looks good (nothing stopping me from losing weight) I thought after reading all these great comments I would lose with this.

I have been on this drug since Sept 30th. My beginning weight was 357 and I am now at 331. This was my last hope as I could not have surgical intervention because of other multiple gastrointestinal surgeries. I have had no issues with this drug at all but one thing I have learned is this is not a miracle worker. Obese eat outside of being hungry all the time. For many it will not work because you get up and eat even though you truly are not hungry. It is still hard work to fix that habit. I notice that I will really want something, let's say a cookie, but I am not hungry, I just want it. I am teaching myself not to just eat because I want it, but to stop and say am I really hungry. One thing that helps me is I am monitored every 6 weeks and I must maintain continuing weight loss or I will be removed from the drug. This is not your dream solution but if you are commited to change it can work very well for you. We are going on a cruise over the holiday and I have a dr appt the day after we get back. It will be interesting to see if I can really stay on my dieting program eating away from home with lots and lots of temptations for 12 days.Read More Read Less

I just started Belviq yesterday (free 15 day trial). The doctor told me I would get headaches for the first few days of taking the medicine, but that it would go away. My first dose, was ok. I got a small headache but nothing too bad. My Second dose at night time was bad! I had a hard time sleeping because of how bad it was. Dizzy, light headed and even nauseous due to the amount of pain. This morning, about an hour of taking my 1st dose of the day, the headache came right back. :( So I am really praying that it goes away within a few days. I cant take the pain. :( On a GOOD note, Yesterday I weighed 197, and today I am 195. 2 pounds down (which could be water weight). :) I will update as I go. :)Read More Read Less

I researched the diet drugs before choosing Belviq as it was the safest and most effective. RX was 1 pill for first 2 wks then 2 times a day. After the 3rd day I chose on my own to increase to 2 pills per day as I was not getting anything out of it. I took Belviq for the whole 30 day RX and actually gained 4 lbs! Absolutely no reaction from this drug for appetite control or energy. Very disappointed I spent $75

Massive Headaches and flu like symptoms after 1 day. I am searching WebMd for other testimonials, to see if I should continue. I could not function like this everyday. Started taking yesterday. Immediately my throat started burning, I began to be hot and cold at the same time, then the diarhea hit, followed by the nausea. So I left work early to go get in bed, because I didn't know if I was catching the flu or if this was really the drug. Now I wake up the next morning and the headache is still here. I'm calling my doc right now, because if this is life on Belviq, I will pass. Read More Read Less

The first few days I was so dizzy I worried about driving. While it definitely cut my appetite down a little, it wasn't worth it for all the side effects that were to come. Getting up each day was bleak. I felt as if I had gained 100 years and 100 lbs. overnight and it was a chore to even get out of bed. I consider myself in good shape despite my weight. I couldn't lift my usual amount of weights at the gym and couldn't walk my normal speed on the treadmill. Everything seemed harder. The depression I felt with this drug was unreal. I found a happy medium (during the 2-week trial) by taking one pill at 11 a.m., that's it. I wanted to stay in bed all day and couldn't wait till bedtime. I just noticed on the online ad that taking Melatonin is no-go with this drug. So if you're not affected by the tiredness and normally take it because it's OTC, beware. Overall, I gained a few pounds the first week and lost it the second. No wt. change.Read More Read Less

I'm 50 years old battled the weight roller coaster all my life. Started B 2 weeks ago and have lost 7 lbs. Does not eliminate hunger. It makes eating less feel okay. It decreases evening cravings. It's much easier to say no to myself. Headaches the first few days. Some constipation to manage. Dry mouth. The first week felt loopy/dizzy. Hard to get going in the morning too. Better after 2 weeks. Will go another month and see. Not crazy about taking drugs. But it may be the boost I needed.

I have been on this medication 5 days and have had no side effects at all. I am morbidly obese and have been for 30 years. I am diabetic and have hormone issues, both contributing to being hungry all the time according to my physician. I take 10 mg twice a day. I find that it does stem my hunger but long term overeating I have developed habits wanting to eat. This is a behavior issue and this drug helps me not to be hungry and allows me to change the behavior by doing so. I have to pay the full $250 per month because I am on Tricare Prime , which doesn't allow this med and because it is government backed insurance the pharmaceutical company disallows my using their savings card. If this works for me it is worth the money.Read More Read Less

I am a 21 year old college student. After loosing 10lbs and after plateauing for the past three weeks in the 320s I decided to go to my doctor. She gave me this medicine to try. I've been on this medicine for 2 weeks and I have noticed I have gotten hungrier, and lost motivation to actually exercise. Also my menstrual cycle has lasted way longer than normal. I would not suggest this medication for young women my age.

I started Belviq back in July 2014, I had high blood pressure, high blood sugar and couldn't manage to lose any weight on my own. I was addicted to white carbs, bread, pasta, and even on a 1200 calorie diet (including those carbs), I couldn't lose weight. My doctor had no faith in the medication and told me "if it really worked everyone would be prescribing it" but reluctantly wrote me the prescription. Belviq took away those cravings for carbs, and my consuming obsession with food. I eat clean and don't miss the junk food at all! Belviq also got rid of my PMS/PMDD, I no longer take anxiety mediation and I'm no longer depressed! Fast forward 1 year later, I'm 55lbs lighter, blood pressure and blood sugar under control! I was one of the people that had horrible side effects (headaches, body aches being the worst), but I pushed through them for the first few weeks (no pain no gain, right?) and I'm SO glad I did. Couldn't have done it without Belviq!Read More Read Less

I just started taking Belviq today and so far no side effects! Last night I was walking around my house just dying to chew on something, anything really and today after just taking my first dose I have no desire to eat anything which is fantastic!!! I have been drinking lots of water and chewing gum but so far this is fantastic! I was never overweight in fact I was the smallest of my friends until this year when I graduated college and got my dream job and moved out of my parents house. My goal is to get back to 125 lbs which is normal for my height since I am only 5'1. I am currently 164 and just uncomfortable. Can't wait to start seeing results and I really hope this works!!!Read More Read Less

I have been on this drug for six months.. I have only lost three pounds(probably due to the cut back in calories and exercise I was doing).. I never had the feeling that I was full. I kept saying just one more month. Shame on me for spending so much money!!! It did give me terrible headaches and dizziness for at least two weeks. I had cut my calories and was exercising 4-5 times a week at the gym and had been walking my dogs every night for at least one mile.

Although the 1st few days I endured severe headaches I am so happy that I stuck it out by day 4 no more side effects. I'm now starting my 4th month on Belviq I've now lost 37 lbs. I am very happy with my choice of Belviq and my experiences.

I started this medication on 6/12. Went back to the doctor on 7/8 and had lost 8 pounds. I have drastically changed my diet - very low carbs, low glycemic vegetables and some fruit - plus chicken, turkey, and seafood. I also exercise every day and drink a lot of water. It seems like so much less effort with Belviq. I had no side effects. It's not a magic pill, but it helps a lot. I pay $50/month with insurance and the savings card. I'm hoping to lose a total of 50 pounds and it really seems doable.Read More Read Less

October 2014 I weighed 285lbs,waist size 42in, July 2015 I weigh 199lbs, waist size is 34in. I started walking in January 2014 3 times a day. I now run 1 and 3/4 miles twice a day 5 days a week. I feel amazing. I have my life back and love it. It is not a diet pill, but a lifestyle change. I no longer have cravings for unhealthy food. I still eat everything, just not as much.

Day 8 after beginning, and have lost 8 lbs ! So excited! No side effects at all. No cravings...none! I have quit all sugars, I'm watching my salt, my portions are a fraction of what I ate before. Have to make myself eat. Couldn't be more pleased!
