I have been on Belviq for five weeks and have lost 11 lbs. I am taking 2 pills a day. Side effects at first were sleepiness, feeling cold all the time and some muscle weakness. Now I just have dry mouth and i have a hard time getting started in the morning which is unusual for me. I just had bloodwork done and cholosterol is finally in normal range and all other results were excellent. All cravin...

I've tried several different weight loss medications. My doctor recommended this because she thought it would be a good fit. Described it as appetite suppressant. Didn't do a thing!!! Did the 15 day trial then paid over $150 including the $75 off coupon. I'm going back to Phentermine. Belviq is worthless. Don't waste your money on this or Qysimia. It's also worthless and extremely expensive. And n...

I started this medication in March of 2015. I am now down 33 lbs as of June 23. I have noticed the last few weeks I seem to be losing less weight than initially. I started at 194 and am down to 161. I really want to be at 145, so I am going to stick with it. Try to lower my carb intake, eat more protein, drink more water. I already work out 4x's a week, so it is a challenge for me to change that. Has anyone noticed a plateau? BTW, the only side effect I had was dry mouth which was gone in a few days. My cravings shot through the roof with this medication, therefore gaining weight and excessive headaches. Not to mention my mood plummeted to the point that it was hard for me to function on a normal basis. Definitely NOT the weight loss drug for me!

I started the belviq 8 months ago, with so many other failed diets, I worried I would not respond to the treatment. I have severe arthritis in my knees which makes exercise a challenge, coupled with a good southern appetite. I can not believe how effortless it was to lose the most fat ever in my life, minus 40lbs. My doctor who prescribed it could not even believe it and insisted i must be doing something additional. I am at my target weight and have greater mobility and less knee pain. I now swim every day and have become addicted to the pool, before you would not catch me dead in a swim suite. So happy.Read More Read Less

Started taking one month ago lost 17 pounds without any exercise. Belviq will only work for 50% of the population but when it works it is amazing! First week took 2-10 mg a day was dizzy and thirsty. Cut down to 10 1x a day and dizziness went away and we added it back in week 3 and I am fine now. Last week my breasts became swollen but my waist looks so small I imam ok with that. Breast tenderness comes and goes hopefully this will be a brief issue. It works for me I stick to a strict 1200 calories a day low carb diet. Read More Read Less

I'm a 45 y.o. female 5'10". Last year I weighed 303 and started going to the gym every day but didn't change my eating habits much. I lost 40lbs but then lost all motivation to work out around the holidays. I started taking Belviq 6 days ago with the first pill last Friday evening. I have not had a hunger pain since and I only eat at mealtime because it's mealtime and not because I'm starving. Saturday and Sunday I found myself taking mid day naps and I never nap. On Monday, I was so exhausted that I stayed home from work and slept all day and night. By Tuesday, the tiredness went away. Also, Saturday and Sunday my mouth was so dry I couldn't drink enough water but I realized on Monday when I did all that sleeping that my mouth wasn't dry until I had a cigarette. That continues to be the case - cigarettes increase the dry mouth symptom. I have not had cravings for anything. I do think about food constantly, but for me that's always the case when I'm trying to diet. This time, though, I'm only thinking about it and not craving or hungry at all, so it makes it much easier not to snack or overeat. I've had a few mild headaches but nothing that required pain reliever and I've felt that my thought process slowed down a few times but overall has not affected my ability to function. So far I have lost 6 lbs and I'm very happy with Belviq so far. Read More Read Less

I have taken Belviq for 4 days and my appetite has increased. I'm hungrier than ever. If I continue to eat like this, I'm sure to gain weight instead of lose weight. HELP!!!

I'm glad the first 2 weeks were free because I GAINED 8 lbs. It did help decrease my appetite, but that was it. I am not going to spend another couple hundred dollars gaining weight with a pill. I don't need help w/that.

I was losing weight, but started taking this drug to help with losing more. But it just made me gain more weight. It made me more hungry, and just made me dizzy all the time. I will not ever use this drug again. I have been taking it for 8 weeks, and I have gained 5 lbs. It cost me with the 75 dollar off coupon 134.00 for a month. Not worth it. You may as well drop 134 on a gym membership a month! Atleast then, you could get a personal trainer and feel good while you lose weight the hard way instead of trying to take a magic pill that doesn't even work.Read More Read Less

I have restarted after losing 45 lbs in 6 months last year so I can lose another 25 lbs. I had to stop for the cost, but now that it is $75/month I'm back. I've just finished first month and I'm happy to say Ive lost another 7 lbs. My only side effect is mild constipation. I'm in the gym 4 times a week again. Good luck to all that are trying to live for healthier lives. My arthritis gets a little less painful with every pound I loose.

Before starting Belviq almost three weeks ago, I lost 10 lbs. on my own and I have another 20 to go. This drug does curb my appetite and I've had no side effects. I haven't really lost much, but I haven't gained which is great. I try to do 10,000 steps at least 5x/wk. and my diet isn't as strict as it could be, so there's room for improvement. Insurance won't cover it, but you can get a free two week trial and after that, pay $75/mo. (check to make sure your pharmacy takes the BELVIQ savings card BEFORE you fill it with them or it's crazy expensive -- you can't transfer your RX for Belviq because it's a controlled substance) If my doctor will give me a script beyond the first month, I will stay on it & report back.Read More Read Less

I have more of a question than a rating… I took Belviq only 1 day and experienced dizziness and sleepiness. Since I drive to work and have a busy life I was petrified of taking it. I want so badly to try it. Any suggestions on how to get through the dizziness & lethargy phase? Is that a side effect phase that will go away? I think I have heard it takes about 3-4 days and I plan to try it again on a Friday afternoon.

I have been taking this medicine for almost a month. I have not lost any weight however, I have not changed my eating and I haven't gained either. I notice a lot less cravings and not so hungry. Unfortunately I have a high stress job and I eat out of stress. I'm confident if I watch what I eat it will help me. I am starting weight watchers with it.

I started taking Belviq 8 days ago and so far it makes me sleepy about a half hour after taking it I take it twice a day one early in the morning and the next 8-12 hours later. When I started I weighed in at 227lbs fine. Now I'm at 229.5lbs After 8lbs. Belviq not only makes me sleepy but minor headaches, dry mouth, no constipation but rather loose stools and most of all hungry all the time. I eat fruit and only fruit every morning it takes the sleepyness away then I'd have a Lil energy to go off of for about 2 hours then I'd be hungry once the energy go away so I eat more fruit then a Lil more energy comes then I'm sleepy and I'm constantly on my feet at work I downloaded an app called walking mate to keep track of my steps so everyday I'm reaching my goal of 10,000 steps by noon that's how much I walk at work. By the time I get home I'm very tired barely can stay woke while driving so I have people pick me up and drive me where I need to go unless I know I'm not tired and have had the small energy rush. I'm always drinking water and I get more than 8 hours of sleep each night so I'm not understanding. I've started working out after work and I've still gained ?? then when I eat I seem to not get full I be having to go for seconds even when I know I shouldn't but I be feeling like I haven't even had the first plate. But I'm still going to keep going the full 30 days hopefully it improves & I'll keep updating Read More Read Less

This is my 2nd update. I started the medication on 1/5/15 weighing 359 lbs. My last weigh in was 2/16/15 and I weighed 330, losing total of 29 lbs in 5 weeks. I have been eating a balanced diet of 1600 calories a day and incorporated 2-3 30 minute workouts a week. Originally I had commented that the only negative thing about this drug was that my ins. didn't cover the medication and it cost me over $220 a month - Well I went to the Belviq website and signed up for their savings card. If you have to pay full cash value, the savings card brings the total down to $75!!! I am extremely satisfied with the results so far. I have had no side effects and have continued to see great improvement in my quality of sleep and in my mood. I have never experienced such great results with such ease and now that the medication is actually affordable, I am really excited to see how much weight I can lose over the next 4-6 months. I know that not everyone experiences the same results, but I had exhausted almost all other options besides surgical procedures to lose weight, and this is by far the best results I have ever seen. If you are like me, I was hesitant in the beginning because I felt like my body never responds to medication how it is "supposed to"... but based on my results, I would definitely give it a try. I plan to post another update after my official doctor's check up on 3/18/15.Read More Read Less

On day 7 I almost stopped this because the side effects were not tolerable. My daughter is a 3rd year Medical Student and I talked to her about it. My biggest concern was that some of the symptoms were those in the heart valve problem paragraph: weakness that won't go away, dizziness and fatigue. She explained that the med wouldn't cause a heart valve problem - but would exacerbate an existing problem. We definitely know that I do not have an existing heart valve problem - so I was relieved. The first day it was great! It gave me a feeling of wellbeing and I wasn't thinking about eating. I had three bowel movements that day. The next day I had a nasty headache and was tired. I didn't have another bowel movement for four days and I was miserable... on day 5 and after I ate like 5 prunes the night before - a very small victory. The following night I took a laxative...Didn't work. I took another and then another. Finally worked and that was the turning point! While I was extremely fatigued and had lost my mental sharpness (very apparent because I'm making stupid mistakes at work), I didn't know if my body was still adjusting or the medicine doesn't work for me. I wanted to stick it out for the full 15 days trial so went to the Belviq website to see if others have had these complaints and they go away - but there was no such page on the site. So I found this site and some other Belviq users had the same problems which eventually went away. After the constipation subsided I waited another day to weigh myself and on day 9 I am down 4 pounds! I'm glad I stuck it out through the rough patch and wrote this novel for others that are considering stopping the med. At least give it to the end of the 15 day trial period before you decide!!Read More Read Less

I just started using Belviq this week and already has lost 5 pounds! I have tried everything and now more motivated to exercise. My eating has improved and I don't feel hungry. I used to eat for no reason now I am finding I only eat when I have hung pains. I am telling you this is my miracle pill and can't wait to see my dr to see how much I lose. There are dr requirements to monitor the effectiveness and I'm so glad because I want to lose weight safely. So far so good.
