I have been on Belviq for five weeks and have lost 11 lbs. I am taking 2 pills a day. Side effects at first were sleepiness, feeling cold all the time and some muscle weakness. Now I just have dry mouth and i have a hard time getting started in the morning which is unusual for me. I just had bloodwork done and cholosterol is finally in normal range and all other results were excellent. All cravin...

I've tried several different weight loss medications. My doctor recommended this because she thought it would be a good fit. Described it as appetite suppressant. Didn't do a thing!!! Did the 15 day trial then paid over $150 including the $75 off coupon. I'm going back to Phentermine. Belviq is worthless. Don't waste your money on this or Qysimia. It's also worthless and extremely expensive. And n...

my first day taking belviq and everything is going well, no dry mouth or headache. I am having like a burning sensation on my scalp.I was wondering if anybody else was having the burning sensation on the scalp and maybe even the side of arms. It's tolerable, just annoying!

I have been on this drug for approximately four (4) weeks, it has given me headaches, chest pains, and a sore throat. It appears I have gained weight over this period of time.

I have been on Belviq for two days... So far so good. I have my daughters wedding in October. I asked my dr if I could take this with Pristiq. And he said no problem. He gave me a three month prescription to start out. I had a slight headache yesterday... Could have been from all the driving I do for work as I travel all week. I'm hopeful with this medication. Being overweight affects everything in my life.. I will report more in a few weeks!

Just got back from my 90 day (really 87 days) Belviq status exam. So here is the data from the doctors office: Weight from 261.5 to 236.0. That is down 25.5 pounds or 9.75%. Glucose from 102 to 91 ml/dl. That goes from prediabetic to the normal range. A1c was 5.5%, but I do not have a baseline (0 day) value. Total cholesterol from 145 to 143, no real change. Triglycerides from 115 to 106, not a big deal. LDL from 99 to 92, again not a big deal. VLDL from 23.0 to 21.2, once again, not a big deal. HDL for 23 to 30. Still low, but a lot better. I also had one of my lowest BP readings in years at the doctors office. Data from home BP monitor and scales: Systolic BP was almost unchanged, in the low 130;s. Diastolic BP was down a bit from the mid to low 80's to the low 80's. Heart rate was also down just a bit from upper to lower 60's. Percent fat was down from around 37% to 33%. Percent hydration was up from around 46% to 47.5%. I am my doctor's Belviq guinea pig. She was reluctant to prescribe Belviq for me, but I was such a good fit for the patient profile and a bit insistent she relented (without too much pushing from me). She was very happy and we had a long talk about how I felt, any side effects (none by the way) and how I thought Belviq was working. I would bet that after my next 90 day check up, she starts other patients on Belviq. My advice to new Belviq patients is that after starting Belviq my hunger goes away before I feel full. That is a new experience for me. Pay attention to the lack of hunger to know when to stop eating.Read More Read Less

start weight 240, 8/2013. Current weight 186.6 lbs. Belviq is willpower in a pill. I am a cardiac patient and I needed to lose weight b/c the stress my obesity was having on my body. Belviq allowed me to make better food choices and I feel full after eating small meals. I got my prescription from a w8md bariatric doctor in NY and ate a 1600 calorie diet using lose it - calorie counter app. Because of Belviq I didn't notice I was eating only 1600 calories a day. I have lost 53.6 lbs so far and feel fantastic. I now choose to eat vegetables over carbs or fried food.Read More Read Less

My goal is to lose 30Lb before my wedding in October. I started this pill as a last resort. I have only been on it for 2 weeks and I have lost 8Lb's!! I have no cravings and I feel full quicker. The only side effects I had was, after the first full day of the pill I got a migraine. Headaches are a common side effect but I also have a history of migraines so I cant say for sure that the medication was the cause. I had a little dizziness and the feeling of my head floating, but only for the first week. I no longer have any of those symptoms and the cravings are still gone. I cant wait to get down to my goal weight and look good for my wedding!Read More Read Less

Just and FYI... Qysimia is a mixture of phentermine and topiramate. The second ingredient is an anti seizure drug to hide the tremors that Phenterimine causes. For anyone to say Qysimia does not work but Phenterimine does is pretty ridiculous. Your doctor can prescribe this same combination in an appropriate dose for you (not pre-mixed) and it will be cheaper. This mix has been prescribed for a long time. Both these drugs are however dangerous and may be worse in combination, so you do need your doctors help.Read More Read Less

So it's only been two days that I've been on Belviq, I feel completely in control of my eating for the first time, as a matter of fact, I feel twenty years younger than I did two days ago. Being overweight takes its toll on a persons well-being both mentally and physically. Thanks to this med I feel hopeful, and I hope I remain in control of my appetite for the rest of my life. I am very thankful I checked out all the info and presented to my doctor and he agreed to write a script. No crazy speeding brain on this med unlike adipex and phentermine.Read More Read Less

By far the easiest weight loss program for me. I've tried all the major weigh loss clinics (JC, MF, WW) and they all ended in a failure for me.

I developed a persistent moderate itch all over my body, after just 2-3 doses. This could be due to the color additives, as I had a similar experience with certain doses of synthroid. That said, after about a week, I did not notice any significant diminution in appetite.

This drug works wells for me. Effectiveness: took my hunger away, a lot of times I have to force myself to eat something. Ease of Use: just two small pill a day. Satisfaction: little pricey but my insurance pays for most of it.
