My dermatologist advised me to proceed slowly with this gel, adding a small amount more per day to my regular rosacea moisturizer. Even a small amount immediately cleared up my redness for almost the whole day. I have been very happy with it. For anyone having problems, try this "go slow" method that my doctor told me about.

I just discovered this medicine. My dermatologist gave me a sample, and the first two days were great, but the next two not so much. It is great in the morning, but then by early afternoon, my face is more red than it originally was, and it's really warm. I'm trying to decide if I should continue, as I'm hoping this is just my skin getting used to it? Anyone else experience this as the medi...

At first the effect was quite good, but as time went by the good effect went away and was replaced by REALLY bad redness. This took about a month.

Worked great on Day #1 but by about Day #4-5 I noticed about 6 hours later my nose was bright red! This was temporary and I wasn't sure what was going on so I continued the Mirvaso. I gave my skin a break the next weekend and noticed one evening my cheeks were bright red then later my nose turned red. All these effects were temporary but enough to alarm me. I researched Mirvaso and noticed quite a few people describing the exact same side effects I had. A few people reported better results with diluting the medication with moisturizer but I don't feel comfortable with this medication to continue it at all. I also plan on reporting it as an adverse reaction to the FDA since I saw where it is felt that the flushing is probably underreported. I would encourage everyone with this side effect to report their adverse reaction. It is my opinion that product needs to be reformulated or even discontinued.Read More Read Less

Within the first few days, I thought this was a miracle cream. My very mild rosacea had diminished. Or so I thought. Day 7 at the end of the day, my face was as red as a tomato, on fire, and appeared as if I had sunburn. Day 8 the same thing. I went from a very mild permanent redness to complete redness and discomfort. I wish I had researched first, as this seems to be very common. I have been applying ice to help calm the burning feeling.

I only used this product one time because of the adverse reactions I experienced. I put Mirvaso on at about 10:00 a.m. and was delighted about an hour later to see what my face looks like without rosacea. It was amazing. All of my rosacea looked like it was gone. It lasted for about six hours and then a nightmare started. My entire face became incredibly flushed to the point of feeling painful and swollen in addition to hot. The parts of my face that have rosacea started to look extremely red/purple and more swollen/bumpy than ever before. This feeling lasted for several hours. The next morning, my face had calmed down, but I had new areas that had rosacea that I had never had before using this product one time. I did not use this product in conjunction with any other rosacea treatment (ie. metrogel...). Perhaps that is part of the problem withe the rebound being so intense. I would like to know how people who use this product successfully apply it and what other meds they use because it has a temporary beautiful result that made me feel lovely looking for a while. However, I am very hesitant to ever try it again because it was terrifying and painful after a brief respite from rosacea. It seems like many people have similar reactions to this product, hopefully something similar, but without severe rebound effects, will come out soon. Read More Read Less

This medicine works great. I wished that it would last longer but it works well for about 6 hours then the redness comes back. Especially if I am at work.

Updating my previous post with excellent reviews. After a few days of use, I began to experience the "rebound" flushing. I've found that the rebound can be controlled by re-applying. The product works, however the rebound caused me hot, flushing cheeks.

I've tried other gels and medications and none have ever worked for my rosacea. I picked up my mirvaso prescription yesterday and tried it out last night. I was shocked this morning to see a visible difference. I didn't put any on my nose or forehead and there was a marked difference between those and the places where I put mirvaso.

Gosh, I don't know what to think now. I have always had flushed skin, my whole body gets extremely hot and I perspire a lot, especially around my head. This makes me not only red but wet as well! I have only used the Mirvaso for a week and so fay it seems to be working, calming my skin and stopping the redness. My Doc said to use it every morning, when dry go ahead and apply moisturizer and make-up as usual. But I only use moisturizer at night because anything that covers my face makes me hot and sweat more. For the same reason, I don't use foundation. Have those of you who use this gel along with Metrogel told the doctors? How do they feel about combining the drugs? I just have my fingers crossed that this along with a high SPF face cream will stop me from looking like a clown!Read More Read Less

At first,I had ups and downs with Mirvaso. I thought I wanted to stop using it because it worked better in some situations than others. I then read a post about someone who combined it with Metrogel or Finacea and other posts from people who used it with moisturizer or even antihistamine cream. I tried experimenting with these methods and discovered that they were effective. It took a while, but I found that a small amount of Mirvaso goes a long wayand is still highly effective in eliminating redness. I think Mirvaso is a truly revolutionary drug.Read More Read Less

My Derm Dr gave me 2 tiny thimble tube samples. Told me to use it withOUT my make up so I could see the difference. I have really sensative skin and many of the products she has prescribed has been a waste of money. Using Mirvaso without my makeup was a mistake; my face was flaming RED :( I could feel it and was embarrassed! So I tried it one morning underneath my foundation having given it a chance to dry. By golly I think my face looked better and less red for a longer period of time. I'll never wear it without my makeup again unless I don't have to go to work or out in public. Had to see my Derm Dr a week later on another issue and asked for more Mirvaso samples. I want to be sure I like it before I spend the money to buy it. It is so new that my insurance company may not cover it. She told me the rep was really stingy with it. I gotta wonder how they expect someone to like their product and know it works with just 2 tiny thimble tubes of it. She gave me one more. So, so far it works underneath my foundation but I hope as with other reviews that it doesn't let me down. I'd hate to spend big bucks and still walk around with a flaming red face which would show half way through the day without Mirvaso which now I can go longer without the redness coming through so soon in the day. She gave me a $50 off coupon so I'm afraid this stuff may be more expensive than I can afford, but I may have to try one full prescription tube of it to be sure - it may be worth working a part-time job to use it! I'll keep y'all posted!Read More Read Less

Looks like I spoke too soon. My first application of Mirvaso was wonderful. All redness was gone from my face. But today, after my second application, my face exploded with redness and heat. My derm told me to put cold compresses on it, go back to my Aquanil HC, and lay off the Mirvaso.

My derm gave me samples of Mirvaso, but I was afraid to try it because of all the reviews I have read about rebound redness. I have serious rosacea and extremely sensitive skin. But since nothing else helped very much, I decided to try it over the weekend. I put it on at 11:00 a.m. and it was red for about an hour. Then it turned into a normal color and stayed that way for over 24 hours. Even when I put a sunscreen over it to work in my yard. What a relief! Don’t be afraid to try it. You may be pleasantly surprised. I am just grateful for this new medicine. I hope it continues to be this good. Will repost if something different happens.Read More Read Less

I used this product & at the beginning it was perfect. But after a couple weeks I noticed my face would get even more red than it was before I started using Mirvaso. Like a rebound after the medicine wears off. The tiny red lines came up fast with the rebound redness. Now, they're in places I didn't have them before. I won't be using this anymore. Gonna try the over-the-counter medicine called Prosacea.

Well, as I was reading the other reviews I noticed that I was having the same flushing, burning, heat and pain as others. I started Mirvaso on 6-5-14 and applied a pea sz amount in 5 different eras like it said. It was working good for me too. Well day 5 (6-10-14) is when the flushing, burning, pain and the heat all started. It felt like a very bad sun burn and felt just as bad too. It wasn't just me checks. It was my nose, chin and forehead too. It lasted several hours and would start just around the 12 hr mark. I apply SPF 70 sunscreen after I apply Mirvaso. I haven't tried mixing it together though. I will try that. I will also be calling my Derm to see what she thinks I need to do. If mixing it with a moisturizer stops all the side effects, then it should be told when it is given for treatment. It's expensive even with the discount card. If, after I mix it with the moisturizer and I still have those problems, I will stop using it. I only had flushing some before I tried Mirvaso and after I tried it, it was worse than it had ever been. Just like any other medications, they work some and not others.Read More Read Less

I've been using Mirvaso for a couple of months. Worked well for the first few weeks i.e took the red flush away from my face. But for the past few weeks I have extreme flushing at random times. Saw my regular doctor (not derm because derm hasn't resolved the redness with her pills and prescriptions for 2 years). My doc recommended quitting Mirvaso for 4 weeks to see if the random flare ups of redness mellow out. We suspect it's Mirvaso. I'm quitting! And my derm is fired.

This drug does eliminate redness in my face --no doubt with some blotching. This week I used it on Monday and Tuesday and for 12 hours plus my face was definitely less red. Today, Wednesday I decided not to use Mirvaso and my face looks more red than ever before. In fact, my wife told me my face looks swollen. I was so hopeful in the beginning about Mirvaso but now I don't think I will use it again. Just hope my face goes back to slightly red from where it is today.

Like most people, it worked great for the first 3 applications then i had severe rebound that lasted for two weeks. In that time i couldnt leave the house without people asking me if i was sunburnt or had a allergy reaction to something. Very dissappointing.
