The experience I have had with taking this drug has given me back parts of my life that I thought were lost forever. I am able to do the simple things with ease such as getting out of bed. In taking Remicade I feel like my life has been given back to me again.

I have not started treatment yet, but I had to answer the questions to get my concerns posted. SORRY! I cheated. I have read the reviews on the Web MD site associated with psoriatic arthritis and to be honest it is a little frightening. I am scheduled to begin treatment on remicade Aug. 6th. The 6 reviews I read commented that they were in more pain and the psoriasis was much worse after tre...

This is going to be my second remicade infusion. I must admitt I was very scared it would not would, but after my first infusion its been two weeks and I feel more normal than I have in awhile. I don't want to jinx it since humira did not help me.

As said by most, Prednisone use to get me remission but this flare is in its 7th month and started Remicade recently. Stuff works for 4-5 days than loses its effectiveness. No side effects yet. With 8 week in between doses I think I'll need either higher dosage or more frequent visits for dosing,

I have been getting infusions every 7 weeks since I was diagnosed with Chrons 5 years ago. I was hospitalized for 8 days prior to my diagnosis, having attacks every day until it got so bad I had to go to the ER. I was put on Remicade from the very start, and I have been in remission ever since. I did have to up my dosage about 2 years ago, but no problems since. This drug is amazing. Without it I would not live the life I do today.

In the beginning it seemed to work, but as they increased the dosage I started to have an allergic reaction to the medication. I was taken off the medication and was placed on ethotrexate and Cyclosporin.

I have been getting infusions every 7-8 weeks for the past 5 years. I have had one hospital stay since then for a blood infection that may have been related to my weak immune system from the drug, but the Crohns has not gotten worse. Quality of life is much improved and weight loss has stopped. Slight fatigue the day of the infusion but nothing more than that.

I started this medication just after turning 18, and unfortunately regret ever doing so. While I was on the medication; which was just over two years; my hair thinned significantly and I lost almost 30 pounds. That was a very big problem when I was 5'8 and 110lbs to start out with. In the beginning, the Remicade/methotrexate combination I was on worked to take away the majority of my pain, though I was never able to get over the 5mg/kg every 4 weeks threshold. The 5mg/kg every 8 weeks was never an option for me as the pain would come back around the 3.5-4 week point, sometimes I could push to 5 if I was lucky. Eventually, my dose was upped to the max 10mg/kg every 5 weeks, with still no complete relief. After two years of being on the medication, I asked to be taken off of the biologic altogether. Since then, I've been using natural medication combined with tylenol for arthritis as needed, and have never felt better. My hair has began to thicken again, and I've put on 15 pounds in the 2 months that I have been off. If the natural medication was an option when I began these treatments, I think I would have started with that to begin with. Plants have just seemed to work significantly more than chemical for me. I have had very good results from the Remicade. I don't feel 100% but it allows me a much improved quality of life. This is my second experience with Remicade. The first time it started to lose it's efficacy after about 5 years. For the next 2 years we tried many of the other 'newer' drugs on the market. They just did not help. I was miserable. I went back on Remicade and it's been about 6 or 7 years and still going strong. I am on 600 mg every 4 weeks. I do have a bit of a trip to the infusion location but it's worth it. It gives me a chance to do my crossword puzzles and relax uninterrupted for 3 hours. YEAH for Remicade!!!Read More Read Less

Saved my life!!! I have been on Remicade infusions 10mg/kg for 8 years now (ages 22-30) for severe Ulcerative Pancolitis. Since being on Remicade I have had zero flare-ups and lead a completely normal life. I was even able to use during my two pregnancies. Going to the infusion center for 4+ hours every 8 weeks for 8 years is a huge pain, but it's allowed me to keep my colon and have a normal life. If it isn't working for you, try upping your dose, 5 mg/kg wasn't enough for me. Also look into a program called Remistart to help offset some of the costs (co-pays etc.)Read More Read Less

I was diagnosed with Severe UC & Pan UC in April. I was on Prednisone regiment for 11 weeks before I could start my Remicade with antihistamine protocol (every 8 weeks). I was within 6 days of losing my entire colon. My first two infusions were 4 days apart. The 3rd infusion was two weeks later & my every "8 week infusion" began 4 weeks later. This treatment has allowed me to return to a normal life (so far).

I was diagnosed with Crohns in 1984 back when they had no idea what caused it. This medication seems to work but has side effects. I get it every 6 weeks, and for the 2-3 days afterwards I have nausea and abdominal swelling. After that it goes away and I am generally good for the next 4-5 weeks.

I had one treatment with no side effects till 2nd wk. woke up & couldn't stand on my right foot. I had a 101.5 temp. went to er given steroid IV. The foot felt better the next day but then spread to my shoulders & arms. Was very wary of taking another infusion but did & within 15 min started becoming short of breath nauseated & chest pain. The infusion was stopped immediately. I had a headache for a wk after infusion.

I have been on this medicine for over 8 years and have a 99% clearance rate. I get tired on the day of the infusion, however, by the next day I am fine. I have had severe psoriasis for over 40 years and since being on the medication I have been great.

Started Remicade in May 2015. It has helped the pain from PsA greatly, but seem to get sick quicker and have had 3 broken bones since starting biologics last year. Has anyone else had the problem of bones breaking easily since starting bilogic drugs? I took Humira before Remicade.

I have ulcerative colitis. I had a very bad flare up a couple of years ago which hospitalized me. The only thing that helped me into remission was remicade. I am grateful for that. I receive remicade every 6 weeks. Right after I feel very run down, feverish, and flu like symptoms. The time varies before I bounce back but typically a week and I peak at 3 weeks. I still struggle with fatigue , joint, and muscle pain. I have to be very careful when I'm sick because remicade weakens my immune system. Overall im happy with the medication but at times feel very sad I have to struggle through life sometimes. I'm finding regular excercise, brikam yoga, diet, sleep, and emotional well being( I.e. Limiting stress) helps me avoid remicade side effects.Read More Read Less
