well, I have only been on this med for 3 days. I take 40mg twice per day. it is time release. the Q is 12 hrs. It replaced hdyrocodone 10mg 7 times a day. It is very much superior to former drug.I have had NO ill feelings in this very short time I have been taking it.

This drug does not work. I think the pharmaceutical company is perpetuating the hype to increase sales. The chart to convert from norco to zohydro is way off. I have been on norco for three tears. Was very excited to start a new drug I could take once every 12 hours. I couldn't be more disappointed with it. I am going back on norco.

I have had hip pain for almost 2yrs and even after an arthroscopy, I was in extreme pain...unable to sleep, walk for long periods of time, unable to sit for long periods of time and etc... I have been taking Vicodan for a very long time with very little relief, so I too was excited to have the option of a pain med that did not have acetaminophen. After 1wk of taking Zohydro ER I am very disappointed, unless it takes a while to work? I'm not sure what to do!

Been on Norco for 7 years. I was taking up yo 60mg a day with Soma. I got partial relief. Mt Doc. gave this to me to try. First pill, which I was nervous to take, caused facial flushing on and off for 3 hours. I waited an hour and a half to take the soma, out of caution. I don't trust or like using new meds. When I was on Percs, It messed with my heart. I took a half a soma, waited an hour, and took the other half. Yes I am cautious, or paranoid. I have noticed about 2 point drop in pain. No euphoria, not that I give a crap about that. I want relief. I dont drink or smoke, and no family history of addiction. I can usually stop taking hydro with little physical or physiological affects. So far, contrary to the staged reviews, I'm not impressed. I have tried ER tabs before, allergy meds, etc. I have never seen an ER that worked for long periods. Everyone's system is different as is the rate of absorption. Noone can foresee how fast this stuff is released into the system. I feel like I got 20mg dumped immediately into system about 30 mins after i took it. The pain is already coming back. My aunt, the RN, says I need to step up to something stronger. Right now, i can walk away from these meds with no adverse affects. It worries me that if i escalate to a stronger med, I may not be able too. I don't like this stuff.Read More Read Less

Maximum pain from hip fracture and gamma nail fix. Hydrocodone with acetaminophen toxicity caused feeling of 'being systemically poisoned'. Zohydro provides excellent pain diminution (not pain elimation) AND relief from acetaminophen poisoning. Much less cognitive dampening and no euphoria whatsoever on Zohydro. Significantly better mentation. Excellent advance in pain control. I congratulate the FDA scientists for their assiduous persuit of patient well-being. They have had serious assaults in the press (even New York Times and Wall Street Journal) by ideological 'war on drugs' crusaders. Fortunately for those of us who are destined to lives dominated by relentless pain, the FDA has proved to be our protectors. Thank you, doctors.Read More Read Less

One million thanks for this medicationRead More Read Less

Very good pain medicine perhaps the best most effective pain medicine I have been prescribed since suffering catastrophic disc damage. All other pain medicines i was given in the past contained Acetaminophen . I did not want to take a super addictive powerful pain medicine such as oxycontin so i was always trying to ask my doctors if there was a decent long acting pain medicine without suffering the usual onset of euphoria followed by fatigue malaise and depression as with all the other fast acting pain pills .such as vicodin and percocet. I Was really beginning to get terrible stomach problems and joint stiffness a common serious side effect of too much Acetaminophen . So when My dr recommended We try a prescription for a new FDA approved pain medicine without any harmful acetaminophen i and Not too powerful to cause any social problems I said sure . well I only have to take 2 10 mg 12 hour timed release capsules a day and I feel a great relief from the acute sciatica I have every day .. I have had 3 months of excellent pain relief from Zohydro 10 mg er I have a lot more energy than I have had since being disabled . also with zohydro I am actually taking less opioid 20 mg compared to scripts of 40 mg in a day . I am only interested in pain management not total oblivion to my seriously damaged spine . I respect pain is a warning that you need to take it easy or risk being paralyzed . I am satisfied with this medicine and I would recommend anyone suffering nagging sometimes debilitating pain to try Zohydro a few months its a very high quality product and your body and all around health will be better mentally and physically.Read More Read Less

I have been on pain meds due to multiple surgeries and several injuries to the Neck/Back and right arm for about 14 years-mostly Norco 10/325 4 to 8 daily along with several other pain meds. I have been taking zohydro 30 mg. for appx. 3 weeks and have not noticed any different side affects than I had previously. Still having some pain so I am increasing to 40 mg. every 12 hrs. starting today.

I have only been on this 10mg twice a day for 5.5 days. I stopped the Butrans patch which did nothing for me. I didn't get side effects until the 2nd day and they drowsiness and extreme nausea. The nausea subsided thank goodness. I am drowsy from other meds and conditions, so I don't count that as well. At first I had a bit of urgency with bowel movements, but that turned to mild constipation. I want to give it another few days at least to see if the pain relief improves even more. I still have some lower back pain and neck. My fibromyalgia pain has improved somewhat as well. I have a lot of issues so I don't expect miracles and especially so soon. It's a process. I will see the doctor again in 3 weeks to follow-up and go from there.Read More Read Less
