This medicine is amazing! I have had a pain pump for 3 years now due to 4 neck surgeries. Prior to this medication, I have tried EVERYTHING and nothing ever worked. Laxatives only work for a short time - myralax never worked. I eat healthy, drinks lots of water and do get some exercise, all of which never helped. The first dosage worked within 30 minutes. I did experience sweating and cramping with the first bm. I have continued to take 1 25 mg/day since and have been regular, having bm's every day. I have been on this med for one month. I also have to take miralax in addition to movantik. It does not work everyday, about three times weekly. I'm hoping it will produce a bowel movement everyday, I'm not giving up yet!

After first dose I noticed some stomach cramping but after the second dose it was like the world was coming to an end. Severe diarrhea, cramping, sweats, and then my pain went through the roof that none of my pain medications would relieve. Next came the headache and after checking my blood pressure a very high jump to the point that I should have gone to the hospital but since this all happened on a holiday weekend I refused to go to the hospital and spent 3 days in bed and hoped for the best. It is now 4 days since my last dose and I know I will never take any of this again, I feel i was lucky to survive using this medication. Took 25 mg yesterday AM and slept for 5 hours. Very drowsy. I am also a spinal cord injured person and that plays a big role in bowel incontinence. So OIC is another factor I must deal with. Will speak to pharmacist about lowering dose. Also some reviews insinuate they dropped methadone because of Movantek. Would appreciate comments from those who have done this.

I was prescribed this by my Pain Management Doctor due to severe opioid induced constipation. I am 6'3" 245 lbs and this one little pill I felt in twenty minutes. After another 20 minutes I felt massive cramping and barely made it to the bathroom. I have never had anything work that fast ever! I did break out in cold sweats and felf very tired after my bowels were cleared. I would hate to think what this would do to a 95 lbs person if it had that kind of affect on me. I would ask your doctor to RX half the dosage which is what i am going to do. If you need to go, this WILL work because I have tried everything and withing 30 minutes this large framed male was running to the bathroom.Read More Read Less

I have a spinal cord injury and have to takes opioids daily. My PM DOC presribed this med for me and at first it didn't work, I was taking it wrong. I learned that if you take as soon you get in the morning on an empty stomach you will see the effects within an hour. Still on the fence because if you miss a dose you end up backed up again, then I hold my pain meds and the pain increases so it's a toss up. Take it daily and it will work.

I took this medication one time. I got severe stomach pain and explosive diarrhea and severe cold sweats. I felt so bad for most of the day the only time I got out of bed was to run to the bathroom. I hope it works for others but I will never take it again.

I'm disappointed, I was so hoping this RX would help my OIC. Hopefully Movantik will work for others. I have a spinal cord injury,so I'll probably be on pain meds for the rest of my life, which means I'll be taking laxatives for the rest of my life.
