I take Rexulti and Viibryd only, after 6mo of 7 diff meds. For months and months I googled symptoms of my mental illness (after a severe psychotic break and 8 hospitalizations) and could rarely find any thing good to read. Only the bad. I have been doing AMAZING (with normal ups and downs) for a year now! I am writing a review because I want people to have hope. I almost wasn’t going to because on...

Horrible. My doctor put me on a trial .5 dose. For the first few days I felt energetic and calm -- like my feelings of dread and anxiety were going down. Then I started feeling flu-like symptoms and I just assumed I had caught a cold. The "cold" progressed for but also brought with it severe panic attacks. The Rexulti was the only new drug in my system, so I determined it to be the culprit. After ...

I started taking Rexulti 0.5 mg nine days ago. I've already noticed a difference in how I feel. This definitely helps cognitive function! I have (had) a stuttering problem that started four years ago when I was a freshman in high school (when I was diagnosed with depression), but when I started Rexulti, The stuttering stopped! I feel much more confident and intelligent and my memory is greater than ever. Today my doc increased the med to 1mg, and I'm starting to have some motivation to make art and animation again! I feel like my thoughts are organized, and I want to clean my room, put on makeup, braid my hair, play piano, and more! The only side effects I have are some drowsiness, V discharge, vivid dreams (which is cool), and some fogginess. I graduated high school yesterday, and I believe this medicine will help me to reach my goals and ambitions! Miracle from God!!!! Read More Read Less

I was taking this after celexa stopped working. I had side effects of extreme agitation, anger, and was very condescending to people. It also shot my blood pressure to 138/110. I might simply be a special case but want people to be careful.

I have my life back! I started with 0.5mg and increased to 1 mg daily. I experienced severe agitation the first month, but the depression started to resolve within the first 48 hours!!!! Five weeks later, the agitation is mostly resolved but still a little tired and occasionally foggy. I tried most of the SSRIs with no improvement. This drug is truly a life-saver.

Day 5.. as I was on Abilify, I can barely wake up or move on this medication. I am so... tired. I take it at night, and use it with my 20 mgs of Lexapro. I suffer from an autoimmune disease that makes me tired already, so this makes me feel like I have concrete shoes on at 1mg. :(

Many physical & mental side errfects. Gaining more weight, swelling, double vision worsened (med induced prior), sleep quality/time better than Latuda. Initially slurred words and confusion (2 mg). When down to 1 mg, better. Forget thoughts. May recall in 5-30 min. All new with Rexulti: Emotional, crying, very misty-eyed over silly stuff. Anger, irritated, lash out verbally, may throw something. Impulse buying returned...not since 3 years ago. Highly motivated (too much); mind racing, compelled to do many projects at one time - worse since I can't work. I write notes over and over...obsessed.Read More Read Less

I was diagnosed as a Type 2 Bi-Polar. I take a medication to stabilize my mood. I was all over the place. Now.. too many issues are blind siding me. Work, Money. Family. you name it. Once I starting taking my Bi-Polar medicine I asked the doctor if there was something that would give me back my "mojo". Before I was diagnosed I was enthusiatic and then depressed looing at walls all day. Pretty unstable. I even went off on a cop that routinely stopped me for a traffic violation. That is when I sought out help. Back to the "mojo". This drug at .5mg gives me my "mojo". I dont have the bad thoughts anymore. The end of the world coming thoughts anymore. The world is against me thoughts anymore. I am free. FINALLY. Thank you for this drug. No side effects except I become sleepy - so I take it at night with my other medication - about 15 minutes after the bi-polar one. I am very grateful. I am able to finiah projects, imagine and execute business plans that I have put off for years. My priorities are back in order - starting on them in an organized fashion. It is definately worth a try. If within a week you do not feel the difference, then it may not be the right drug for you. We all have different chemical characteristics and what works for one may not work for another. Read More Read Less

diagnosis mood disorder NOS. I had been in a deep horrIble depression when my doctor decided to have me try this. I wasnt even able to stay awake take care of myself my children or do any basic cleaning. I was crying for hours a day feeling completely hopeless because ive been on every medicine you can imagine in the last 11 yrs and i thought there was nothing left. This med pulled me out of my depression so fast it made my head spin. 2 days after starting im back out having play dates with my kids hanging out in large groups of my friends and their children laughing happy and motivated. Its been my miracle and theres NO SIDE EFFECTS! Im very sensitive to side effects and couldnt handle abilify. But bow with a combo of lexapro lamictal and rexulti, im back to my normal social active happy self and i couldnt be more satisfied. Try it if youre suffereing i thought there was no coming out of this and i was wrong!Read More Read Less

Have had MDD for almost 30 yrs. now. I needed something to help 'boost' my recent bout of depression, which have been few over the years. I have had horrific, terrifying dreams and wake up feeling panicked. I was feeling that before the drug (panicky upon waking), but this is so much scarier. Feel agitated, angry, (not like hurting myself or anyone), but in a bad mood. Irritable. I do not like these feelings and my depression has been greatly affected negatively because of this medication even with it being at .5 mg. No more for me!Read More Read Less

I feel even better then I did with Abilify, am losing weight by eating celery and drinking smoothies so I do not see weight gain as a problem.

This medication is really good. I was on Abilify for a long time and my body had gotten use to it. I changed to this one and it's been over the top. I don't hear voices or comments and my hallucinations are at an all time low. This medication takes some time to work, but once it does, the results are remarkable. If Abilify has stagnant on you, this is a great replacement. I feel as normal as I possibly can. Remember, not all medicines work for everyone due to body chemistry. The side effects I have are sleepiness and I had some weight gain. I didn't have so much to be concerned with. I prefer to have these side effects then to live without the medicine. I hope this review helps people to realize you can function better. Read More Read Less

It is now day 12 of my stopping the drug (advised by my doctor,) and I am in a crippling depression, have flu-like symptoms, am sweating profusely, can't sleep, and when I do, it's way too much. It also, like most mood stabilizers, messed with my blood sugar. Considering not seeing my doctor over this treatment call, and am mourning my life.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Rexulti for 3 weeks. Awesome medication. I finally feel "normal". My body, mind and soul feel in sync for the first time in a long time. My energy level is steady through the the day, more positive and neutral thoughts come to me instead of being flooded with negative and damaging thoughts throughout the day. This drug has also helped my social anxiety issues as well. So glad my PA prescribed this for me!

I was prescribed 2mg in the beginning which I felt like I was on top of the world but the weight gain was fast and a lot, 10 pounds. Then I was reduced to 1mg thinking it would stop the weight gain but I gained 7 more pounds and became depressed over the weight gain. Now I am the biggest I have ever been outside of being pregnant over 23 years ago and was taken off. I went from 125 to 137 pounds in less than two months. I will be trying Latuda along with prozac. Hopefully it helps.

I have struggled with depression and anxiety for 25 years. I had several, negative life events trigger my depression. I had been very stable for years. However, this time, my depressive symptoms came fast, furious and had some psychotic, scary features, including wanting to harm myself. I started with a starter pack and I felt the positivity return immediately. I am on 1 mg a day and doing very, very well. My palms and feet sweat for about an hour after I take it. My interest in things has returned very quickly. I am very happy this drug was available during my crisis. I have only been on it for 8 days so far. I suspect I will remain on it at least for 3 months for stability. Especially during the winter. I hope it helps you, too.Read More Read Less

DEVELOPED A SCALDED TONGUE FEELING, like as with a hot beverage. This was around 2 weeks after starting it. I thought I had burnt my tongue at first but it got worse. My whole tongue started to hurt more, so I called the clinic and they had me discontinue taking it. Made me upset having to stop it because it was working really good. My mood had leveled out a lot and made my IBS symptoms better. My bowel movements were starting to 'normal'. I was informed this medication could stay in your system for up to 20 days. I don't know how long my tongue will be painful, I have been off the med for 11 days and it still is really sore. I also have developed a dry mouth. One side effect of the med is tongue movement, so that has added to the SORE tongue problem. It hurts enough I feel like crying all the time because it is very painful, aggravating and scary. Quite impressed with my response to this medication. Just started 2 mg. I have more energy, have dreams again, don't feel disabled anymore. I have struggled with depression for 20 years and have 3 maternal family members who committed suicide. I sure wish this treatment had been available for them. One thing I have noticed is an increase in my already unhealthy appetite. However, I now have a desire to lose weight because I have dreams for the future again.
