Repatha has really zapped my cholesterol. I was unable to tolerate any Stanton or non stantons, I had severe muscle pain with both. I am about 4 months in on Repatha use and am having dull aggravating muscle pain all over, don't know why, but seems have started after starting Repatha. I am also having joint aches that I have never had before. I think I am going to skip my next dose and see if ther...

My 83-yr old mother has had two strokes and was taking Welchol to lower her cholesterol. It was not working so the doctor prescribed Repatha, calling it the new miracle drug. She took 3 doses, two weeks apart and then developed severe neuropathy. She said it felt like the blood was boiling in her hands and feet...it is very painful and dibilitating. The doctor could only surmise that her cholester...

I cannot take statin drug because I have severe muscle pain with them. I have been taking this medicine for almost 2 years now. It has helped me so much! My total cholesterol is under 100! It was never under 300 before. The fatigue lasted almost a month when I started but went away. I asked my doctor, "Where has this been and why did it take so long to get here?" She just laughed and said, "At least we have it now." Thank Goodness.

For years my LDLS were high. Statin drugs did not work for me. They affected my muscles so bad I could hardly move my arms or legs. I started taking repatha 8 months ago and my bad cholesterol went from 189 to now 66. I find that the day I take the sureclik shot I do have a running nose and I am tired that day but both symptoms disappear by the next day. Before I started taking the shots I had a tight feeling in my chest by my heart which has gone away.

I had heart bypass surgery in 1999 for blockages. I couldn't tolerate statin drugs due to the debilitating joint pain they caused. About 4 hours after taking my first Repatha injection, I was eating at a restaurant and had 3 severe bouts of diarrhea before I could leave. I continued 3 more times after getting home, and more the next day. I thought at first it was food poisoning, but now know it was the Repatha, because I go to the bathroom about 1-1/2 hours after each meal. I will receive my next injection and have my labs redone tomorrow, and am excited to see if it has helped my cholesterol levels. Sofar, I have had none of the other possible side effects mentioned by the drug rep when I was started on Repatha. I will update my review and re-rate the above questions after I get results of my bloodwork.Read More Read Less

She took 3 doses, two weeks apart and then developed severe neuropathy. She said it felt like the blood was boiling in her hands and feet...it is very painful and dibilitating. The doctor could only surmise that her cholesterol went down to quickly, causing her body to crash. He still thought the Repatha was her best defense against high cholesterol so he told her take it once a month. We took the last shot on April 3rd and now she is in so much pain she can barely walk or use her hands. We think she may have permanent damage.Read More Read Less

I am 50, and have never been able to lower my inherited high cholesterol. I break out in hives when taking statins. 4 months after starting biweekly Repatha, my LDL went from 138 to 2, HDL from 75 to 81 and Triglycerides from 304 to 231! Overall cholesterol was 274 and is now 129. I didn't know LDL could be as low as 2. I haven't had any side effects. Repatha appears so far to be an amazing drug!

I have only taken it twice so we do not have any results yet. It has been very easy to give. My main concern is the extreme cough and runny nose and headache. We will see if it occurs again after the next injection. My last dose was a week ago tomorrow and I am still coughing a bit. At this time of year we are not sure if it is a cold or the medication. Time will tell..

I have had high cholesterol my whole life, tried diet, niacin, some sandlike medicine and had 5 bypass at 44. That was when statins came out and have been on maximum does for 19 years and my numbers are 350-400 total. Started Repatha 2 months ago and am under 200 for the 1st time my adult life. No real side effects and the shots are a cinch. Whether it actually decreases heart attack risk I believe is still in the air, but I know my numbers are good. With my insurance and the Amgen card I only pay $5 co- pay. Wprth looking into there program.Read More Read Less

I suffered a heat attack in 2014. I have been on Lipitor and then Crestor 40mg a day. The best I could get my LDL down to was 115. Then my Dr put me on Repatha for 6 weeks (1 shot, every two weeks). My LDL is down to 41. This stuff really works. Also my HDL went up from 39 to 51. The only side effect has been a little (very little) congestion. Now the big side effect, this stuff cost a lot $14,000 a year, but consider that compared to be on the table.

I became sick as a dog within 12 hours of injecting this drug (intense nausea, intense headache, a feeling that I was about to become sick. In addition, I began passing out momentarily, catching myself before before falling, but would drop whatever I happened to be holding, and my head would fall forward, then I would catch myself (a most disconcerting feeling to be sure).
