I wanted to write a review on this after I had finished 3 packs and so I could maybe help someone. And I am glad to say I am very satisfied. Vienva was not my first birth control. I first started on Syeda and that was the worst experience of my life. I didn't even get through 2 weeks and it ended up destroying all my relationships. I stopped taking birth control completely after that and then trie...

My insurance company switched me from Orsythia to Vienva without notifying me, so I took it for the first week thinking they had the same ingredients. Within the first week my boobs shrank, I was nauseous all the time, I was eating like crazy, and I got cystic acne all over my face (again). Orsythia has been the only bc in 6 years that has worked for me since I went from LoEstrin(discontinued). I ...

AVOID THIS PRODUCT AT ALL COSTS!!! My pharmacist has changed my birth control several times over the years, and every change makes me weepy/emotional/cranky for a short period, and then inevitably I regulate my hormones and feel okay. With Vienva, however, nearly every day was bad and continued badly for about a month and half. I'm naturally a bubbly, outgoing, social butterfly, but this pill destroyed me. My hair fell out in huge clumps, and died where it held onto the scalp. I now need a pixie cut if I am ever going to regain my full hair. I also lost my enthusiasm for life. I quickly became 1000% depressed, debating whether life was worth it. I cried periodically throughout each day for almost no reason, and cried myself to sleep every night. My joy in friends, the gym, and sex all vanished. My appetite increased tremendously and I felt little ability to manage my hunger or keep it satiated. Long story short, this birth control is the worst I've ever experienced, and I've been on many pills. This pill will wreck your self esteem, internal pep, and vigor for what you normally love. I wish I could go back in time and never allow this nightmare of drug inside me.Read More Read Less

Vienva was my first experience taking birth control, and it took me a while to realize it, but I became a different person after taking it for 5 months. I had no drive for life, I was tired all the time, and I generally just felt like I was slowly losing my mind. One small thing would set me off, I got angry easily, and I cried very often. All of this has caused a lot of problems in my relationship. It took the help of my mom to help me realize that I needed to stop taking Vienva. I'd never been depressed, anxious, or as moody before Vienva. I'm definitely switching after reading all of these bad reviews and how similar the side effects are for so many other women. If you are thinking about taking Vienva, please do what I didn't and read all of these horrible experiences. Also please take anything else.Read More Read Less

I was on this birth control for 13 days and it caused so much anxiety, depression, and pain in my life. I had been in a funk and felt like my emotions were uncontrollable but could not figure out why. This pill made me feel like an absolute crazy person and almost caused me a break up.

My gynecologist switched me to Vienva after I expressed concerns of a low libido to her while on the Nuva Ring. Switching was a huge mistake. Iâ??ve never struggled with depression before in my life, but while on this drugs I felt feelings of hopelessness and social anxiety - I even lingered into suicidal thoughts. This may have been amplified by the fact that it caused horrible cystic acne along my jaw line and weight gain. I used this for only 5 months, but the damage it did to my face, body, and over all psyche are taking months to repair. Using Vienva is the worst thing Iâ??ve ever done to my body and I do not recommend this drug to anyone.Read More Read Less

I took vienva for 2 months and everything was okay except that iâ??ve always had bad cramping during my period and these pills made my cramps 5 times worse! i couldnâ??t get up my bed for 3 days the cramps were extremely bad i thought i had something else then i stopped the pill and my cramps were back to normal (still bad but not as bad) other than that the pills were okay i didnâ??t experience any change in my mood or any nausea or bleeding, also i had anxiety before taking them and they did not affect my anxiety at all, i think it kinda helped me with it. Also when i stopped the pill my skin cleared up Read More Read Less

I've been on the same hormones and dosage for 6 years now and have been switched by my pharmacy about 3 times, because I use the generic for insurance purposes. I've never experienced an issue with previous switches until I was given the Vienva. About 2 weeks into my cycle, after taking my pill every day at the same time, I experienced bleeding (not just spotting, like a full period 9-10 days early). The bleeding stopped and started back up a few days later, even HEAVIER, then stopped a couple days after that right when I should have been getting my normal period. I have always been regular and I take my pill routinely, because I use birth control mainly for BIRTH CONTROL. This drug made me feel unprotected while I was sexually active, and it made me feel embarrassed to even try having sex because I never knew when I would bleed again.Read More Read Less

I haven’t noticed how bad Vienva is to my body until I read these reviews. I was taking Aviane before but my pharmacy switched me to Vienva and my life has basically gone downhill. I started having depression which causes the major fatigue that is so annoying, I also have sore breasts and vaginal dryness. I will definitely be switching back to Aviane or another brand because this one has got me tired of life and I don’t like it.

Last month I was randomly switched from Orsythia (like so many other women) to Vienva because my pharmacy no longer carries Orsythia. I was told they are the exact same so I started taking it. Worst decision I have ever made! I started bleeding during the second week and didnt stop until my actual period ended. On top of that, my appetite has been garbage and Ive lost 10 pounds (I only weigh about 110 right now). The worst side effects though are easily the heart palpitations and severe anxiety/panic attacks. I have gone to the ER three times within the span of a month. Started to feel slightly better until I took the first pill out of my new pack. My heart is back to racing again and the panic attacks are almost unbearable. Thankfully, my doctor reassured me the birth control is causing this and advised me to immediately stop taking he Vienva while she found another pharmacy that still carries Orsythia. The only positive thing o found about this birth control is that I didnt become pregnant while taking it. If you have success while taking this pill Im happy for you! But from all of the reviews I have seen so far that success seems far and few in between. If youre currently taking this and are having these symptoms please know that you are not alone! Talk to your doctor, pharmacist, whoever you have to and get them to switch you ASAP! I took Orsythia after giving birth to my daughter, and in the two and a half years of taking it never had symptoms anything close to these. Wishing everyone the best of luck on their journey in finding the right birth control that works for them. Read More Read Less

This was the worst BC I have ever been on. Walgreens pharmacy has changed my brand about 5 times and I thought I was either crazy or pregnant when I first started this brand. I had spotting for a week, vaginal dryness and low sex drive, breakouts, cramps, extreme moodiness, and it brought back my depression. I would not recommend this to ANYONE. If your pharmacy prescribed you with this, I would stop taking it immediately. It is awful.

Walgreens switched me to this drug from Aviane, which had been working well for me for the past two years (Lutera before that). I'm only 5 days in and I'm having light cramps, heart palpitations, chin acne, serious anger, and anxiety/ I feel like I'm losing my mind. I guess I'll have to switch pharmacies. I called my doctor and told her I was feeling psychotic, and that's not hyperbole. I left work because I was afraid I was going to flip out in front of people.

I felt like I was going crazy until my husband made me look up my symptoms online and I found out that tons of women are having the same side effects from this BC. Moodiness, low sex drive, emotional crying all the time, and excessive bleeding. So done. I pitched the remainder of the medicine and will be looking into alternative options.

I hate this pill! I too like the other reviewers was switched from Orsythia to Vienva by my pharmacy and it was awful. I experienced headaches, mood swings, acne and much heavier periods than I've ever had since being on the pill. I completely stopped taking it.

Was taking Aviane and the pharmacist gave me Vienva instead. Said it was the same strength. I have been menstruating the entire time while taking this pack of pills. Not sure if it just is not as strong as Aviane, but I will be going back to taking Aviane.

Vienva contains Levonorgestrel, which is an androgen not anti androgen synthetic hormone. This is more likely to promote acne. I broke out terribly within the first week. I should have stuck with an anti androgen form of the pill.

I've been taking Orsythia for about 3 years now without any issues. Three months ago CVS swithed me to Vienva. I questioned the Pharmacist about it who informed me that they no longee carry Orsythia, but this was the equivalent drug with the same active ingredients. I was told that I shouldn't experience any issues, but I have. I've taken Vienva for 3 full moths now, but my bleeding is terrible and goes for weeks at a time. The cramps are horrible, I'm exhausted, achy and moody. I've never had so many issues in my life with my cycle. I called CVS and they're going to try to special order Orsythia for me. If they can't, I'll have to change pharmacies.Read More Read Less

I would not recommend this pill. My chin area is covered in acne and I have been extremely moody. I have also been feeling exhausted. My boobs have grown and are constantly sore. Lastly, my sex drive has been completely depleted.

CVS also switched me from Orsythia to Vienva. Within the first week of starting it, I got headadaches every day. My boobs grew and I gained five pounds. By the end of the third month my boobs shrunk but the headaches continued. Went to the doctor and found out it has bad giving me high blood pressure. Starting LoLoestrin next week.

I too am among the women whose pharmacy made the switch with little or no warning. I have experienced horrible breast pain, severe anxiety, and a period 4x it's normal duration. It took me weeks to realize these were side effects. Though the "active" ingredients were the same, the "inactive" ingredients were very different from the pill I was on. For me, this was a horrible switch. Awful.

My doctor's office sent my first rx for "Aviane" to CVS then sent a 3 month rx to my mail order pharmacy. CVS gave me Vienva, mail order pharmacy gave my Orsythia. I took 1 pack of Orsythia and during that month I was SO irritable, one small thing would send me over the edge into rage - I just felt like I was never relaxed. I've really never felt like that before, I felt crazy. I then took Vienva for a month and my mood is stable. Aside from super tender breasts, I'm liking this pill. I'll take painful boobs over crazy mood swings any day!Read More Read Less
