I find Xiidra very effective. My vision is briefly blurred for about 15 minutes after use, but I just plan accordingly. The biggest problem I have with Xiidra is that the delivery mechanism is difficult to use. The drops are difficult to get out, and if you shake the vial between drops, a drop comes out and is wasted. I used to use Restasis. While Xiidra is more effective for me, the Restasis vial...

My doctor gave me a Xiidra sample for my dry eyes. I used it this morning. Awful experience. It burned, turned my left eye red, left a film on both eyes that blurred my vision for several minutes and tasted so bad I vomited. No, thanks. I'll stick to OTC Systane Ultra.

I have been using xiidra for more than a month now. I visited an ophthalmologist bec I experienced blurry vision twice in a month. It alarmed me so much that I went for the first time to an ophthalmologist. He said I have very, very dry eyes and he saw a vein near my eye that seems to enlarge. He recommended Xiidra right away, that very day. I removed the box and put all the foils in the refrigerator. I used one and another one after 11 or 12 hours. I get my xiidra in the refrigerator. After a month of use, I went back to my Doctor. He said, everything is now normal in my eye. He let me use it for another 6 months so it will stabilize. I didnâ??t experience any side effect except, I would sometimes have a unpleasant taste and I would wake up with eye booger, that crystallized thing at the corner of my eyes. I am 64 yrs old. I started using Xiidra 2 months ago after being diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome with keratoconjunctivitis sicca. My doctor instructed me to apply the drops first thing in the morning and at night right before bed, which I did. My initial experience was not good - the immediate BURNING, redness, and watering when the drops hit my eyes (which would last for minutes), crusty eyes in the morning, and the horrible metallic taste in my throat (which would occur intermittently throughout the entire day). After a week of these unpleasant side effects, I contacted my doctorâ??s office and was informed that the side effects would only last up to 3 weeks and then they would go away. I pushed through the pain and after 3 weeks, the burning, redness and watering ceased, the eye mucus was much improved, and the bad taste was milder and occurred only occasionally. This I can handle! But more importantly, my dry eye symptoms (blurry vision, redness, discomfort/irritation, headaches) were relieved. Please note, however, that the side effects will return if you do not continue taking the drops twice a day. Iâ??ve had some nights where I fell asleep abruptly without the drops, so Iâ??d feel a little burn and/or or I may experience the bad taste when I used the Xiidra drops again. Overall, I would recommend Xiidra for those who can stick to the schedule and get past the initial transient side effects.Read More Read Less

Restasis did not work as well as expected, Xiidra was like a miracle but still had occasional day or two of dry eye symptoms. Added Restasis back and problem solved. Why would some vials sting more than others, all from the same connected vials?? Some vials do not sting at all, others a little, and some a lot. Overall would recommend trying this treatment.

Used Xiidra for 6 weeks and it made my eyes worse lots of pain, sensitive to light, constant headache, eye lids stuck together upon waking, lots of blurriness and many eye lashes fell out. In speaking with my eye doctor she indicated the drug has more size effects than the other drops for dry eye Would not recommend this product to any one

Just does not seem to help, and it also burns, and causes a blur for about 10 to 15 minutes.

I do not understand the need for unit dosing of this drug. My glaucoma drugs are not unit dosed and there are no issues in the use of the drugs. In fact, they are easier to use. Arthritis in hands make the small unit dose of Xidra difficult and there is a waste in the drug. The set-up of the unit dose is totally unsatisfactory,

I have developed sore, blurry, dry eyes that make it impossible for me to read for more than short periods, which means that I am unable to work. More than four months ago, two specialists independently prescribed Restasis, but my prescription company obviously had some kind of sweetheart deal with Xiidra, which they insisted was more "cost-effective." (For the record, the retail price of the two is about the same.) After a month of trying unsuccessfully to obtain approval for Restasis, my doctors and I gave in and went ahead with Xiidra, which I used religiously for three months in the hopes that it would in fact be effective.. It burned on application from the first day to the last and never did anything to improve the comfort or function of my eyes. I frankly do not understand how it obtained FDA approval when Restasis has been around for years and has benefited so many friends and acquaintances. After the failed trail of Xiidra, I finally received insurance approval for Restasis this week, but my opthalmologist tells me it usually takes three months to become effective. Since I have been on disability from work for nearly five months now, I do not know if my employer will continue to hold my job for long enough to find out if I will ever be able to read enough to work again. I am seriously considering bringing a lawsuit about Xiidra and/or my prescription company.Read More Read Less

I will not use this again. Light headed. I have never experienced the feeling of dizziness to this degree. I used for dry eye and had terrible taste in my mouth. Dispenser difficult to use

Worked for dry eye but caused blurry vision. As my vision is already poor I had to stop using it.

I have tried this drug twice for dry eyes and both times I've had to go to my doctor because of a urinary tract infection. I'm not able to go on it long enough to judge whether it works.

I didn't have any of the initial common side effects of burning or a bad taste in my mouth. I did have blurred vision for 15-20 minutes after using the drops. However, after 2 weeks, my vision blurred and STAYED blurred for two days. I immediately stopped using Xiidra. Two optomitrists, an MD and an Opthamologist could not find a cause. Slowly (days) my vision returned to normal. I do believe my sustained blurred vision was from using Xiidra.

I used Restatis for many years, and had minimal results. Within a few days of using Xiidra, I felt relief and my symptoms of dry eyes had continued to improve.

Don't use this stuff. I put one drop in each eye, as directed, ONCE. That's all. I had painful burning in my eyes immediately. It lasted for about 30 minutes. Minor burning lasted for hours. Paperwork says it will cause blurred vision, and not to drive "for a few minutes". I couldn't have driven for more than an hour. Directions say to wait 15 minutes to insert contact lenses. I couldn't have done that until at least the next morning. I had to use artificial tears to get some relief. This stuff is horrible. I can't believe they even sell it. Read More Read Less
